Murderball (2005)
Best Documentary I have seen this year
Words couldn't have described how I felt after I first saw this film. Grant you I had seen this picture a grand total of ten views of the amazing "Murderball" in one week and I thought to myself, "I don't see anyone bitching, moaning complaining or feeling sorry for themselves. I was amazed at the competitive wrath that these men show. Mark Zupan has to be the most intense man I have seen in sports with his will to surpass all obstacles and do it in a way where he can come back to earth and show such a shy side when introducing youngsters and newcomers to the sport. For every cocky arrogant and ungrateful athlete in professional sports where they don't get their million dollar signing bonus, each of those athletes should be shown this film and see how bad their life could be. Maybe then would they know what hard work and devotion is. Yet then again, maybe they might still not understand.
Orange County (2002)
And The Oscar goes too.... Spacek, Hanks,Lithgow, Jack Black?????
This movie reminds me a lot of the woman that i went to see this movie with. Every time I see "Orange County" come onto the television sett I laugh I get nervous and I cry. The storyline goes as follows, Shaun Brumner aka Colin Hanks applies to Stanford after reading a book that he finds on the beach wash ashore, he soon realizes that not getting into Stanford ruined his life and that he is doomed a life hopelessly in is dreaded home town of Orange County California. Jack Black plays his drugged up dazed and confused brother Lance who helps Shaun along side his girlfriend,(Spacek) to drive to help Shaun explain his situation of getting into Stanford. The overall dynamic of the movie and overall tone for being released in 2002 around the time I started college made it a sentimental film for me to watch. My girlfriend a month later had broken up with me and at times I had felt like Shaun from this movie. Hanks gets a little stir crazy at points but the entire movie and actors help bring him down to earth. The cast all has its funny parts and some embarrassing moments arise, along with the soundtrack featuring The Offspring The Foo fighters and Crazyland this makes for an unbelievably good evening of laughter and tears that will remind me of when i started on my life's journey.
Dying to Belong (1997)
Ranks 2nd to "What no One would tell" but worth the watch!
The star power of falling child stars Jenna Von Oy and Mark Paul Gosselaar breakthrough and shine through this disturbing film. "Dying to Belong" also stars Spoiler alert: Hillary Swank. Both Swank and Von Oy both play two college freshman looking to pledge a sorority house in hopes of achieving popularity and climbing the social ladder. Gosselaar along with Swank work with each other at the school's newspaper. Goselaar digs up information after one student was rumored to have been hazed and found dead after a rush pledge prank went completely array. Not to ruin anymore of the story for anyone who finds this movie Ondemand. "Dying to Belong" can possibly be found on Lifetime channel every once in a great while. Sarah Chalke(currently in Scrubs, and feature Roseanne alum) brings extra zing to this nail bitter. Sit back on the couch and get the chips queso dip and all the snacks out. This movie teaches us that sororities and frats are not worth dying to be apart of. And it is also a funny movie to poke fun at for the horrendous clothes fashion
The Wonderful World of Disney: Tower of Terror (1997)
Tower of Terror ruined Steve Guttenberg's Career!!!!!!!
As I walk down memory lane the Guttenberg train came to an abrupt halt when I witnessed the worst performance of Steve Guttenberg's career. "The Tower of Terror" was an hour long plus movie; which claimed to be "spooky" and "let's hide under the covers" type of movie for little children. As I struggled to the end, trying to finish this movie I realized that this entire film was to promote the theme ride Tower Of Terror in a long line of Attraction theme park stunts. I never understood why any type of actor would ever choose such a lousy way to ruin their career by making a horrible sell-out decision. The end was so unforgettable I think the writers were even thinking how to end this story. The premise of this entire story could have been solved by a two year old without having to lift a finger to write down who did what where and how! Kirsten Dunst, with as much stage presence has she doesn't have made Bring It On! an Oscar winning performance compared to her puppy doggy sorry eyes as she slowly tries to bring the viewers eyes a please be entertained look on her face. Not to my amazement I had to re-watch this film because I spaced out towards the middle and fell asleep. My grandma said that this movie was absolutely horrible. To sum it up, any adults that read this must punish their kid by watching this film. And I swear to it, your children will not act up ever again after viewing this film. An entire view of this film will help them straighten up and fly right. This viewing critic is glad at least Dunst's career wasn't completely halted by and incredibly wretched acting and Corporate American sell out. If any one had stock in this movie I would tell them one word. SELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ghetto Blaster (1989)
This film has one thing to offer, a guaranteed nap in the middle of it!!!!!
While I did not pay for a movie ticket for this film I had felt like I had just wasted 8 dollars at the AMC Cinema. The movie "Ghettoblaster" was completely predictable and had stereotyped any type of "drug dealing gang banger" in its rightful terms. The plot I can't even describe to you in full because I don't even know how or where the story and the plot ever really takes place. The characters as much as you want to like them don't even become likable. They are just there. Bruce Willis could have starred as the lead hero character while Nicholas Cage or any or devious villain could have been the head of the drug lord boss in this movie and they still would not have been able to keep my attention. The long of the short of it, instead of even spending a dollar on this film go out and spend time with friends family and loved ones. This abomination of a film needs to be kept in a vault and not be seen by the likes of anyones eyes ever again. I am sure the director of this film did the best he could, and the actors and actresses put forth their best efforts but the entire script should have been looked over more carefully before even being put into production. My buddy bought 200 plus films for 50 dollars and this I can honestly say is one of the movies that came upon the arrival of his purchase. "Ghettoblaster" is toast in this man's mind.
