Lady and the Tramp (2019)
Adults will be thrilled to see the most iconic scenes reproduced in the original.
This live action film may appeal to both the new generations, for which it is intended, and to the adults who grew up with the animated version of 1955. The film almost entirely resumes the original but manages to smooth the more controversial sides (such as the scene of the two Siamese cats), creating a fairy tale dimension in which the real villains are only those who do not like dogs.
The Valhalla Murders (2019)
Undeveloped plot turns
Poor psychology investigation of the characters,Undeveloped plot turns
Kona fer í stríð (2018)
BETWEEN HUMAN COMEDY, FAIRYTALE FOLK AND FARSA SEMI-GROTTESCA
An originality so ostentatious that it could turn out to be repulsive and it will be difficult for everyone to agree.
A recurring sense of estrangement that in the long run dilutes the spectator's emotional participation.
Belluscone. Una storia siciliana (2014)
SMILING OF HORROR
It is a work to be seen and rethought for a long time; to be enjoyed in its immediacy and inventiveness, and to be reworked later, to fully grasp the scope of what it says (and how it does it). The Italian cinema that tells us best, in 2014, is just this: outsider cinema, outside the large production / distribution circuits, but also from the picket fences and the more banal (and obsolete) classification attempts.
Napoli velata (2017)
The botched and stuffed script of the most stolid.
The performances of the interpreters, including the two protagonists decidedly bewildered and lacking a reliable guide. But let's save the legendary Peppe Barra in a tasty little role.
Piuma (2016)
A THOUGHTFUL COMEDY
Roan Johnson's touch is becoming more personal, standing out in the panorama of Italian comedy for lightness and intelligence.
BlacKkKlansman (2018)
Adam Driver a confirmation that gives us an exceptional performance
A film that shines for elegance and balance, a mature work that represents a happy sum of Spike Lee's poetics
Super Troopers 2 (2018)
not at all good
A CULT OF AMERICAN COMICITY RECEIVES AN UNEXPECTED SEQUEL DISTANCE OF 17 YEARS, BUT IT IS ONLY NOSTALGIA.
Il colpo del cane (2019)
so and so
Rhythm is not always able to capture the viewer's attention
The Angry Birds Movie 2 (2019)
too little to conquer the adult audience.
It is necessary to reiterate both the strengths and limitations of Thurop Van Orman's film: the former are undoubtedly to be identified in the brazen charge of energy and creative anarchy; the latter in a humor, crazy and immediate, which may have less grip on a more adult audience. It is a conscious and deliberate choice, which lets itself go to the bases of a certain western animation, but which can displease those looking for deeper and more mature productions.
Ma cosa ci dice il cervello (2019)
The social comedy that sinks into the real country and derides it
An action comedy to laugh at, which photographs a land mined in the foundations of civil coexistence. Milani and his team of authors are confirmed as a good bet for Italian cinema, especially when it forces us to look in the mirror.
The Wizard of Lies (2017)
a little slow but good
A placid part, already interrupted by the sudden suspense, this meandering, new TV movie by Barry Levinson, for the prestigious HBO. Strongly desired, despite many production difficulties, by its interpreter De Niro and his business partner Jane Rosenthal, he stands out prominently in the bleak modern panorama for his undoubted truthfulness and the tension that reigns in every frame. Dry, smooth, here and there bolso and soporific like the recitation of a De Niro so "absorbed" in the character to be almost foreign, superfine for the watery and rippled photography, an excellent example of Cinema on television, "dilated" to two hours for understandable needs. Pfeiffer is very good, she makes the best of her Ruth's pain with passion and perfect adherence to the role, divided by the unconditional love for a ruined husband-family and her desire to escape from an imprisoning reality, which makes her slave of the irrepressible "superficial" judgment of gossipy and malignant people. Nivola does his duty as a hyper-sensitive son, modeling a man overwhelmed by the "idolized" figure of the paternal idol, a colossal bluff who "hangs" him in the suspension of disbelief. Many doubts remain after the vision and perhaps Madoff is not Ted Bundy but also a monster of titanic proportions. Suffering, excruciating in his apparent introspective impassiveness like a languid De Niro in his inexorable and deadly sunset.
Spielberg (2017)
THE CHILD WHO MADE THE CINEMA GREAT
"Steve has the ability to tell a story in pictures, instinctively, like no other," says Martin Scorsese, one of Steven Spielberg's longtime friends, his partner in the small movie brats club that revolutionized Hollywood in the 1970s. That of the director of Toro unleashed is just one of the many testimonies that cross Spielberg, the documentary made by Susan Lacy for HBO, two hours and twenty of pure delight for anyone who loves the Seventh Art. But it is one of the most precious, because it focuses on the most distinctive feature of Spielberg's work, his sacred fire, the unparalleled talent that made him the most famous director in the world.
Dragged Across Concrete (2018)
THE TENSION IS THERE, MEL GIBSON DOES NOT DISAPPOINT, BUT ZAHLER'S POLICE IS LESS BRILLIANT THAN HE WOULD LET YOU BELIEVE.
Ultimately, the third feature by S. Craig Zahler is, however, a less original and brilliant detective than he would like to believe, always a cut below his ambitions
Gentefied (2020)
Intelligent and ironic but not convincing story
Stories of some characters not adequately investigated,
narrative events left unresolved
Terra Willy: Planète inconnue (2019)
is fine for a 7 to 10 year old audience
Music is almost not used at a narrative level.
The rhythm sometimes becomes too slow and dilated, especially at the end.
Legado en los huesos (2019)
something is missing
I do not find it satisfactory that the film, having to lay the foundations for the next chapter of the story, does not have a conclusion ...
Ut og stjæle hester (2019)
a rough and refined film
Every apparently unspectacular event, from the felling of a tree to the galloping of a restless horse, takes on a narrative value, a truly beautiful film
Share (2019)
not bad the first Pippa Bianco film
The sensation is that of a profound discomfort, dictated by the skill with which the director tells the cruelties of a society dominated by technology, an instrument that dehumanizes everything and everyone. The film takes a strong theme and elaborates it with intelligence and sensitivity, setting aside easy moralisms to bring out the nuances of a very complex (virtual) reality.
Patrick Melrose (2018)
CUMBERBATCH GIVES UNFORGETTABLE INTERPRETATION
Patrick Melrose, is a good job done behind the camera, impeccably interpreted by an excellent Benedict Cumberbatch.
The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017)
the worst film of the director
Sacrifice of the Sacred Deer is Lanthimos' craziest, most bewildered and violent film, which fails to impart strength to the rewriting of the thriller-horror genre, as he had done with The Lobster, as he did with La favorita or Dogtooth. The alienation is so exasperated as to implode in drops of grotesque and absurd.
Il miracolo (2018)
brave experiment and all in all successful
It is not difficult to recognize distant echoes of Twin Peaks' Lynch, inspirations of House of Cards or elements of Suburra's political and criminal life. The camera therefore moves in an elegant, light way, demonstrating a certain personality on the part of the writer.
Gomorrah (2014)
a warranty
Never disappoints, never taken for granted!
this season was also a success, I hope they will also make the fifth ....
Under sandet (2015)
AN INTENSE STORY !!!!
An obscure chapter related to the Second World War told with deep and crude realism. An underhand revenge from Denmark towards the defeated German army, young deportees forced to clean up the Danish beaches by my Nazi army. A handful of beardless soldiers armed with wood to hunt deadly my antitank with the dream of a return home and the fear of dying from a sudden explosion. Cured in detail and supported by a fine photograph, the product offers a realistic cross-section of war, yet another unknown piece of suffering finally brought to light by a film with marked historical educational hues.
