Bad Guys (2022)
feeling guilty for not turning it off sooner
This show's storytelling seems to depend on all too frequent and repetitive flashback scenes where a weirdo scoops up handfuls of fresh blood, smears it on his nose, and exclaims "I love the smell".
Once, twice, maybe, but countless blood lust reenactments are creepy indulgences that I don't want to watch.
It's unnerving to think that anyone would want to watch it, and it's especially unnerving to think that people that have no presumed opinion might watch it and begin to become accustomed to the gruesomeness depicted. WTF watches this stuff?
The characters are time worn memes or goofy caricatures, but that's not necessarily a problem. The actors do their job well, but the poor quality story telling and missing plot line negates any contribution the actors provided.
The production design is cartoonish in a made for stage interpretation of late century graphic novel.
There is zero suspension of disbelief.
The location scouting seemed to emphasize "low-budget". The location shots seemed to suggest there was never enough time to set up a shot the editor could make good use of.
I don't usually write reviews but this show left me feeling so self conscious for lacking the resolve to turn it off sooner that I needed to process the trauma and write about it here.
If you watch it. Good luck, you are going to need it.
Punk's Dead: SLC Punk 2 (2016)
I was glad when it was over.
I was glad when it was over.
I wonder why anyone would make such a listless movie.
The characters each seem indulgent yet none are developed to the point where they provide any interest.
The usefulness of a car ride as a sort of journey device is marginalized by the redundant and boring settings.
The production value is mix and match mediocre.
The narrator's bad acting is creepier than the creepiness of employing a dead narrator character.
The climax of the story is not even anti climatic, but at least you know the end is near.
