Hard to watch in some parts. Story of an older man 34 seducing a 17 year old young girl. From the start I could tell he was grooming her for more sinister reasons.....she finds herself flattered by his attention. Her mother is too busy with her own numerous boyfriends and her friends are ignorant to her needs . He holds her up on a pedestal and tells her she is beautiful and smart all the while with plans to sell her to men. She is vunerable and wanting the affection and attention. The waitress in the cafe could of rang the police especially since she stated he had brought numerous young girls there.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie even though it made me cry a lot. There are highs and lows . There are beautiful people and also horrible people.......and what an amazing actor that played little Joseph . I didn't know at the time it was a young girl . I hope to see her in more films. It was terrific to see the film was made in Africa without all the Hollywood hype and crap . Shows the best side of human nature and the worse. Joseph's mother was a true fighter for her little boy .....and his dad Simon and aunty Brenda. Kennedy didn't deserve Joseph's forgiveness.....but at the end of the day Joseph needed to live without hate in his heart. This is a truly inspiring movie. I loved it .

I thought it was a good movie and the acting was also good. It jumped around a little but that's because it had to so it could give you the back story of each character in the movie. Amber heard was in it and as much as I don't like her she played a surprisingly good role. I really like John Corbett but I didn't like the character he played in this as he was a pedophile. I can't for the life of me see him as a pedophile. Don't believe all the bad reviews.

I loved this movie which is a strange thing to say when it's about two people in love with a heroin addiction. Really well acted and a touching love story with a sad story of addiction. Made me cry a few times . It was a good portrayal of lives on a decline due to the drug lifestyle. Geoffrey Rush also played a great role . I don't want to say too much except watch it with an open mind.

Thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The acting was superb who doesn't like Billy Bob , Juliette Lewis , Ryan Hurst and Charlie Hunnan? A heartbreaking portrayal of a alcoholic drug addicted young man at the edge of death. Not sure why so many bad reviews. It really captured my attention and my heart. Maybe people don't like it because they can't relate. I found myself reflecting on my own troublesome life and self destructing behaviour . I have just ordered the book also.

Not sure why all the negative reviews. The acting is acceptable and I like Micky Rourke so I gave it a go. It's an original storyline and Bella Thorne played the girl part well. Give it a go if your not expecting an Oscar winner.

I really loved this movie and the acting is superb . I highly recommend it but I have to add that the ending disappointed me immensely. What was an engrossing story line left me wanting more. I love Elana Ferrante's my brilliant friend quadriligy and couldn't wait to see this movie. All the different layers were done brilliantly.

I loved this film it is brilliant. Amazing cinematography and acting. I was enthralled. I don't understand all the bad reviews. I was mesmerised . You have to really listen and watch to catch all the underlaying messages and subtleties . I could definitely have seen Mathew McConaughey in the role of Phil . Highly recommend for people that like to watch deep and meaningful films.

Until the last 20 min or so when it got ridiculous. I was really disappointed by the last bit of the movie. People swimming under water without oxygen for so long is truly absurd. Also a 5 metre Great White swimming at you under water and old mate stabbing it in the brain repeatedly ..... OMFG Seriously?
