Yellowstone (2018)
You've got to be kidding.
First off the youngest son kills somebody in each of the first three episodes. Seriously?! He just happens to drive by an exploding meth lab and decides the best thing to do is to shoot a guy in the head right after he executes his wife's brother. Then he chases a guy he just happens to find in a van and shoots him. That's supposed to be realistic? He leaves his kid in a drain with a rattlesnake to protect him! I started watching this because I'm really enjoying Tulsa King and I figured I'd check out Taylor Sheridan's other big show but this is ridiculous. I can only suspend disbelief so long and I'm done with this schlock.
Blonde (2022)
Visually Delightful
First off I am always amazed and disheartened by the large number of people that write reviews and say they quit watching after 40 minutes or even less. If you are going to take the time to write a review the LEAST you should do is watch the whole movie. Otherwise your review is misinformed and just plain USELESS. Maybe they should stick to 10 minute webisodes. Pitiful.
I really enjoyed the movie especially for the innovative visuals. It was hard to watch some of the more disturbing scenes but I see that the director had a vision.
The scene where Marilyn surprised Miller with her insights seemed to end abruptly but I'm sure it was probably due to editing an already long film.
Ana did an excellent job and I did get lost in her ability to embody someone so well known. I'd give her a good chance at winning the Oscar however she'll probably get snubbed by the Marilyn fanatics that do not want to see her dark sides.
This Is the Night (2021)
Love letter to Rocky
Heartfelt 80s dramedy with the release of Rocky III at it's center. Multiple storylines are almost too much but the director makes them work. Watts and Cannavale give their usual solid performances but Frank Grillo shines. I have become very impressed with the way Grillo can make seemingly impossible acting tasks look believable and he really comes through again. Keep 'em coming Frank.
The Guilty (2021)
Pandemic Filler
Low budget rush job obviously made during pandemic. Has a few bigger names in cast that phone it in...literally. Devolves into a BLM PSA.
Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021)
It's a cartoon, not Citizen Kane
It's really sad to see that so many people take the time to trash a movie with 1 star reviews just because they are jealous of the star. They are either Michael Jordan fans that are scared to admit LeBron is better at basketball or they are mad he doesn't play for their team. That should have no bearing on the review of a movie but haters gotta hate. It's no Roger Rabbit but it's fun and the graphics are excellent. The rants about it being a Warner Brothers commercial are ludicrous. It was great trying to identify all the characters from the WB. I'm going to watch it again to look for the ones I missed. LeBron seems to let negativity roll off him but I hope he doesn't let this ridiculous outpouring of vitriol and hate discourage him from future projects. I think he'll rise above it. Check it out.
To Be Someone (2020)
Listen to the music and forget about the story
Time-killer with some funny moments. Music was great. Ending was ridiculous.
Without Remorse (2021)
Very disappointing
Guy gets shot 3 times in the chest and stomach. Takes his shirt off and there isn't a mark on him. I guess that would have been too close to reality. Enough said.
Thunder Force (2021)
Fun and dumb
Watch the previews and you know what's coming. I laughed a bunch of times and isn't that what a comedy is for? The super low ratings are ridiculous. Nobody is expecting a classic comedy but the Trolls just want to hate. It seems you have to scroll last the first 30 reviews anymore to get an honest review. Sad.
