Escape Room (2019)
The escape rooms are where its at
This film is a lot of hit and miss but I would say it hits more than it misses. The story is the weakest part in my opinion but I don't think it needed to be strong for this to work. The escape rooms are the real highlights and it is very interesting seeing how they escape and there is an element of excitement when they move to a new room. So I would say worth the watch.
The Babysitter (2017)
Big Horror Fun
This film is fun if nothing else. It's cheesy and tongue and cheek and I love it for it. The casting is superb and the comedy lands on my opinion. Yes it is cheesy but I feel it's part of its charm. It's stylish and a fun watch. I've seen this three times already and it doesn't get old.
Monster Party (2018)
Gory, Campy and Fun
A lot of people gave this really harsh reviews. The film isn't the best by any means but it is a fun watch. It's campy and gory and has its own style. The gore effects in it are really good and the acting for some of the characters is sublime. Definitely worth the watch if your in the mood for a fun slasher. Definitely has its faults but it was an enjoyable watch.
The Lion King (2019)
A rehash of the original but worse
This is the exact same as the original and anything new they add isn't that worth it. If you want to watch Lion King either watch the original or the stage version. This isn't really worth the watch.
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019)
Underwhelming
The trailers for this were amazing and made me super excited for it but unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype.
Pros
- Acting in general is very good.
- The costumes in it are so beautiful and anyone who likes fashion or costumes should watch.
- last half an hour is a pretty decent watch
Cons
- The Villian in this is so cringey. There are times she is being so obviously villianous and people just seem to not notice. At some points she was obviously being horrible towards Maleficent and the other characters just seemed to get annoyed at Maleficent for reacting?
- Story is meh.
Ghostland (2018)
Underrated Gem
This film is wonderful and refreshing. It has a great twist around half way through and is incredibly tense at parts. I would compare some scenes to Texas Chainsaw Massacre or House of 1000 Corpses as it feels like at some points you shouldn't be watching it.
