The Idol (2023)
Onlu good thing is Lily's acting skills
I read the reviews before watching the show, so i was expecting the worst. To be honest everyone is 100% right about the movie basically being porn. Watching this is quite disgusting, uncomfortable and even somehow traumatizing to watch if you've ever had a man somehow a***e you or treat you awfully. Taking power over you.
Only good thing about this show is Lily's acting skills which were surprisingly good but it's also depressing to watch her basically doing a porn series (she deserves to be in better roles). Also one good point to this is learning more how young women might be treated in the music industry (if messing with the wrong people). Hats off also to Hank Azaria and Davina Joy Randolph and their acting skills.
The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes (2022)
Good info until the end
If you are a true fan of Marilyn Monroe and have read and researched about her life and death, you'll be disappointed. Especially towards the end. It just seems to get "cut off" and for ex. Nothing about her autopsy or the evidence in the bedroom/house, positioning of her body on the bed, Eugene washing laundry on the middle of the night etc is mentioned it researched. There is so much left out! It's A shame because it starts out well. I wonder when will the real story be told about her death? And when will she be seen as a person who was actually intelligent, not an object ? Disappointing.
Plus, the actors doing the voices is slightly annoying.
Reservation Road (2007)
Astounding performances
If the acting wasn't this amazing by two unbelievably talented actors (Jennifer Connelly and Joaquin Phoenix), I would give a lower rating. Their performances are mind-blowing. Watching this movie reminded me about how truly gifted they are. Mark Ruffalo does a great job as well but Jennifer and Joaquin are still at a completely different level.
I think this movie is underrated and deserves more attention and credit. This is a tough movie to watch and is quite depressing to be honest, especially if you're a parent yourself. Still, it's worth watching due to Jennifer's and Joaquin's performance. It seems so genuine. The ending feels a bit sudden and quick but still a good one.
Blonde (2022)
Fictitious BS, again
Why do people or media always focus on this side of Marilyn Monroe? This just feels disrespectful to a woman who never gets attention for the right reason or for the intelligent woman she really was. It's sickening that she is always brought up as a blonde sexual object. The movie is fictitious BS and does not tell the reality of her life. People who don't know about her, will now conclude this is her and her way of life. I actually had this book and never finished it because it angered me. Same with this movie. If we bring up an icon, let's give her some respect and tell the truth. Let her rest in peace.
Aline (2020)
Could have made this a lot better...creepy
Horrible acting even though she is similar to Celine Dion, but creepy as h*ll seeing this old woman's face on a child's body. That was a HUGE mistake. How could they allow that? It ruins the whole feeling in the movie from the start. They should have had a younger actress in the beginning who was actually a child. The main actress fits looks wise and knows some of her mannerisms but isn't capable of quality acting. The man playing the husband is way better. I don't recommend the movie....
Dark (2017)
Third season ruins the feeling
Loved this when it started. During the first season, I'd give it a 10/10.... But the third season was just way too long, going back and forth to different years, Everyone (Claudia, Eva, Adam etc) is saying what has to still be done with almost different stories each time and things just don't move on. The third season could have much less episodes and with the same feeling as season 1 and 2. Don't know why, but "Martha's" acting got slightly worse which ruined also the chemistry between them. But still, I'm giving it 8/10 because I loved the first two seasons and the idea of the story.
Aquaman (2018)
Amber ruins this
Not watching the sequel if she's in it... Terrible actress and horrible person. Jason fits the role though and did a good job!
The Handmaid's Tale (2017)
Why is this not ending already?
Used to love this show. It was something new with a brilliant idea, good actors, interesting story, well filmed etc. But season 3 was just dragging on and on. Nothing new really happens, basically one could skip directly to the last episode since that's the only one with something happening. Unfortunately I am already getting sick of June's cranky evil expression, most of the shows in this season are her just staring. After hearing there is a fourth one coming, I was disappointed and not certain if I even want to watch it. It's a shame something that was really awesome is now almost ruined.
