Jiu Jitsu (2020)
It's just.... Awful
From the moment it starts, you know it's gonna be bad. Special effects were bad. Acting was terrible. Plot was worse.
Each time there is a splatter of blood, it looks like a bad syfy movie. Bright red splatter that suddenly vanishes in thin air. The acting was just horrendous. Nobody had any backstory. And the little backstory they tried to include *spoiler alert* (like the fact that bad actor #1 had run from a fight) wasn't worth including. The fight scenes weren't even enough to be entertaining. The villain made no sense, at all. He just wants to fight? And... oh. No. Just that. He JUST wants go fight. But only specific people. Comes every (however many years) and seeks out specific people. Just to fight, and then leave. It wasn't even a comically bad movie. It was just... bad. There was literally nothing in this movie that I liked, or found entertaining. I watched it becaude of Nic Cage. And even he delivered bad lines, and unlikable character, and no backstory.
Napoleon Dynamite had a more thrilling, in depth, and understandable plot and character backstories than this garbage, and Napoleon Dynamite makes no sense at all.
Troy: The Odyssey (2017)
Terrible
Let me start by saying I did not finish this movie. I fast forwarded through parts of the movie due to terrible dialogue and utter boredom.
The acting in this movie made it seem like uncle Fred and aunt Debbie decided to make a movie, and find all the acting school rejects to play in it. The acting hurt so bad, I fast forwarded through most of the film because the dialogue was so scratchy, and carried no emotion throughout the entirety of what I saw.
To top that off, the movie had some major flaws in it, guy gets stabbed in the chest but when he falls to the ground, the wound is now in his side, and he is still breathing and alive, as well as blood splattering (way over the top, but I'll touch that momentarily) on the wall, then suddenly it all vanishes and there is no trace of death. Times like that, very obvious mistakes, I am not the guy who watches a movie looking for mistakes either.
The fighting was choreographed.... well no, it wasn't actually. They bought some swords and said, "swing these someplace and we will make it work." Well they didn't make it work. One scene in particular, on the fighting, a guy swings his sword against a mans shield, the man falls to the ground. But when the camera pans up, the killer has not made another move, but the shield guy is laying against the wall, dead. He was never hit with the sword, he was never hit a second time, and he fell straight down as you see him land on the ground. Then suddenly he is dead, lying roughly five feet away, up on a ledge about chest height, as if thrown there. The fighting is the worst I have ever seen to be honest.
The visual effects.... Don't exist. And I wish I could talk to directors about this, but if you have a twenty dollar budget, don't try to put in a sea monster as big as a boat, and a cyclops. It just looks horrible. The cyclops made me laugh it was so bad. Clearly put in via computer (as they have too, but they don't have to make it so obvious) He didn't match the scene at all. He was out of place with the background, and didn't collide with the environment right. He seemed to be in another dimension in his scene, which was a very uneventful scene.
My last point, the violence is your typical Syfy way over the top blood, but no gore. People getting slashed and blood splatters all over faces. However, all the actors wear way too much makeup for the time, and they were never dirty or sweaty, and their clothes looked fresh from the press, but that's beside the point. The point is, the violence was your typical over the top, if you don't mind the goofy syfy violence, it hit the nail on the head there. The sound effects didn't match though, someone gets stabbed and you hear a waterfall in the foreground as if blood is leaking all over. But when the sword is withdrawn, no blood is on the blood, ground, or shirt of the person stabbed. This happened all throughout the movie. Someone would get slashed, and you hear this was over the top sound of gallons of liquid splashing as if waves on the beach, and when you see the wound, it's a pin prick on the end of the characters finger.
All in all, I would never recommend it, it wasn't even good as a goofy, laugh at the acting type of movie.
Fallen (2016)
What even is this?
This movie makes no sense at all, the acting is okay, not really a point to complain on there. But the store line is so flawed, and the camera is often bad. Aiming too close to people with weird colors, lights, and mist around their faces for no apparent reason. Everyone is mopping the entire movie, and the bad woman could have killed the girl the first time she walked into the school. She was alone with her, and could have been alone with her many other times too. But she never tried to kill her until the good guy was there to fight her off. It made no sense, and was very flawed.
Gremlin (2017)
Just horrible.
There was nothing good about this movie, the acting was some of the worst I have ever seen, even for a Sci-Fi movie.
The gremlin looks horrible, and doesn't fit into the picture in any way, and the story is horribly flawed.
Grimm (2011)
One of the best shows ever!
This is one of the best shows that I have ever seen. It starts with some, 'not top of the notch' special effects. But as the seasons go on, it gets really, really good special effects. The plot is great, I love how this is a twist of the typical cop show. It isn't anywhere near the typical cop show drama's, it's like if Supernatural and your typical cop show, had a child together. It's a lighter version of supernatural, with the same humorous twist on things. This show fits good humor, drama, plot, all in one awesome packet.
I would definitely recommend this to everyone who likes the dark, supernatural world.
The one thing, is the show began to fall apart near the last couple seasons for me, there were some things left unfinished, like they had forgotten about it, as well as some characters being added that I just cannot stand (Female Grimm Trouble). She really ruined it for me, not to the unwatchable point, not even close, the show is too good for that. But I am not a fan of her snarky character.
Beyond that, and even with that, I would not hesitate to recommend this show to anyone. This is a fantastic show.
The Dark Knight (2008)
Excellent!!!!
Excellent movie! I don't think there is another way to say it. This movie is not just your typical action movie with no plot, and the good guy getting everything he wants in the end. This movies has twists, amazing fights scenes, fantastic play from the Joker, and a great plot. I wouldn't go as far as to say that it is family friendly, however, there is almost nothing bad in it. Basically just perfectly coordinated fight scenes. The acting is some of the best that I have encountered. I don't think the Joker could have been cast any better than he was. He played the perfect insane villain. This is a must see by batman fans, and non-fans, alike. 10 stars by far!
