Baby Reindeer (2024)

What an absolute masterpiece!
17 April 2024
Got a chance to see this randomly and omg did not regret even for a minute. What a beautiful, heartwrenching show with such an important message in the end. The actor, writer, director Richard Gadd has outdone himself in this one and the story being a real story of his own life, brings another spark in the show. All the performances were extremely brilliant and the cinematography will take your heart away. Somehow, you will understand what goes through the head of a person who went through trauma and here is where the writer and actor wins. It is a must watch. The ending will leave you in splits, but will make you think, and maybe that is what the writer wanted to do after all. Recommended.

Parasyte: The Grey (2024– )

A beautiful way to start a story
12 April 2024
Considered to be a sequel to the famous Anime, Parasyte: The maxim, this show has a very different plot then the original anime itself. Maybe that is what makes it unique in the way, it tells a science-fiction story in such a normalised way. The VFX work is really excellent and it is good to see Korean shows coming with much better stories and beautiful background music. What I felt was that, it was missing the emotional touch, which they tried by exploring some of the relations, but still could not touch at that level. Overall, it is a decent watch for a weekend and I am excited for the next season as it has a hidden surprise for all us anime fans.

Your Lie in April (2014–2015)

A real terarjerker for the spring season!
3 April 2024
If you are looking for a real tearjerker this april, *Your lie in april* is one of the best recommendations. The story follows a musical prodigy who stopped music due to a past tragedy, but comes back to the stage along with a girl, he just met. The story goes on and oh what a beautiful story it is. I will not be wrong to say it as the fault in our stars of anime along with some great musical sequences. The plot towst and turns are great but the greatest is the last one, least expected by anyone at all. The animation, the plot, and the emotions were just excellent. The last two episodes will make you cry like a little baby, because I did. Recommended.

Takes your heart away and then it will crave a bit more of the story!
24 February 2024
All India Rank by Varun sir, is indeed a beautiful movie which talks about the struggles of preparing for the toughest competition in the world. Sattva sharma did a beautiful job in portraying the apt emotions on the screen and I feel, this story cannot be said better than this. It was a short and crisp movie and as you crave for every good thing to last longer, you will crave for a bit more story from this movie but the writer and director was very sure of what they wanted to show.

The song lyrics are amazing, and will stay in your heart for a while.

The end itself will make you different things and emotions within you and that is the beauty of art, the way you perceive it.

Please do go to see this movie, it is made with so much of love and thoughtfulness and it will stay, even when it ends.

You have always been one of my favorite writers, Varun sir and now, maybe favorite director too. Must watch, recommended.

Killer Soup (2024– )

Felt like something is missing, like it was in the soup!
16 January 2024
2024 started with a bang for all the TV series enthusiasts and movie lovers, with the perfect intro of this series. Manoj sir at its best, doing something very unique this time. The story revolves around a wife who wants to own a restaurant someday but her husband does not support her. What did she do to get her dreams fulfilled, and did she win in all the chaos? The cinematography is beautiful, with powerful dialogues, and each and every episode, keeps you on the edge of the seat. Konkona did so well, like she always does and all other supporting actors also played their part well. A really good mystery thriller with a satisfactory end. Recommended.

Sapne Vs Everyone (2023– )
10/10
Tell you whatvthe true meaning of dreams are!
13 January 2024
It is just beautiful to see how mini TV series and web series are giving the content we as art enthusiasts crave for. Sapne vs Everyone is another beautiful Web series by our own TVF who never fails to surprise us with their ideas, concepts, and words. It is a story of finding yourself in the crowd of millions, against the millions. The story is full of action, drama, heavy moments, heart touching ones, and leaves you satisfied with the answer *Hero kaun?* The soundtrack is amazing and I would recommend you to hear it on spotify, I loved the rap, especially the lyrics. Everyone has done such powerful performances that it will mesmerize you on the screen. It is so good to see that when Indian cinema is failing us at this time, web series are still here giving us the ray of hope. Must watch and truly deserves to be the highest rated indian IMDB web series. Recommended.

Good Grief (IV) (2023)
8/10
Went for a comfort movie, came out with tears rolling.
8 January 2024
Grief is a process, which everyone has to handle in their own way. The process might seem similar from the outside, but everyone deals with their own grief in their own way. The movie deals with a story of a writer whose husband died and then he decides to go on a trip with his best friends to Paris. There are some really heart wrenching lines and metaphors in the movie, and the whole process is shown beautifully. I feel we could have explored a bit more about the stories of side characters but well, that is upon the writer, what they want to show. The writers have nailed this one for sure, every line will hit you hard. The soundtrack soothes the movie and somehow, it tells you in the end that "Art is just a mere representation of pain" Went for a comfort watch, but came back with tears.

What a beautiful piece of cinema!
1 January 2024
Sometimes when you are feeling lost, you go back to the things you used to love, people you knew, memories you cherished, and places you used to go. Memories have incredible power to make you feel like, yourself again. The film talks about a person who is suffering from Dementia and how she chose to go back to her village to relive her childhood once again, before she completely forgets it. The movie shows you the potential of Indian cinema, and how a beautiful cinema creates an impact. Such heartfelt dialogues, poetry, and beautiful performances by actors. Not much on the music front but, maybe the plot compensates for the same. Such a breath of fresh air.

The perfect watch for the end of the year!
27 December 2023
*Kho gaye hum kahan* is a proper flashback to the today's world and generation we sre living in. It has good music, a strong storyline, great characters, nice humor, and a message to all the people like us who are too much into the world of social media now, that we have lost our own identity, our own pleasures, our own life. The movie makes us question our choices, our daily routine, in a very subtle way. The movie is about three friends who have their own battles going on, one who is a gym freak, another who is a creative business mind, while the last one, the funny guy, and their traumas of life. It felt complete to me, the way they have shown the struggles of life, each one facing their own demons, it is very relatable, I just wanted some deep dialogues to be honest, that would have made this one a much better watch. The songs are great, not memorable, but with deep lyrics indeed. The last 20 minutes are very intense, and it will make you cry, if you have a past trauma. The first half is like a honeymoon period of everyone's life, with small inconveniences, but the movie escalates to the dark reality of everyday struggle, really quickly. People who have faced them in real life, will relate more, and those who don't, I hope you never do, but someday you will. It is a perfect watch, to make real life resolutions, and see how beautiful life is.

Easily the best movie I have seen this year
16 December 2023
Easily the best movie I have watched in this year, the directorial genius and some great acting performances together stitch up this movie to go down in history as one of the greatest. The plot has been set great and the background score is right on point. The movie might seem too long, but every inch of it is relevant for the story and has been beautifully executed. The little detailing in the movie are so nice, from showing the era of that time, to the costumes, and time appropriation. Coming to the performance, no one is weak, none at all, even the side characters played it so well. Leo has been a heartthrob and our old little goose De Niro shows his class in their performances. I wish it got more traction among movie enthusiasts because it is a movie to be seen this year. The length might makes you a bit hesitant but every part of it is worth it, Recommended.

Just like night jasmine - Beautiful and short lived
9 December 2023
October is a movie with a lot of questions unanswered within me. It will keep you restless, confused for most parts, and then suddenly make you realise the things you were missing. Varun redeems himself in this movie with his acting but the plot is too confusing at times. You will not get the idea, why he got obsessed with this one person in the first place, how did she become so important, what was the connection and a lot more questions but well, maybe art is all about exploring it yourself. Even then, I would have been a bit happier if the dots were connected somehow, I feel it is still incomplete in my head, the background music is great though and the movie could have been a masterpiece with a little bit of information maybe.

One Piece (2023– )
8/10
Unexpectedly pleasant
2 September 2023
I have watched 200 episodes of One piece anime and this series covered 100 barely, so I am very well qualified. In one word, it was unexpectedly pleasant. I loved how they have picturized some of the iconic scenes, all the origin stories remained the same and were beautifully portrayed but not as detailed as we have seen in the anime, but well in 8 hours, I guess this is the best one can do. I was a tad disappointed with the background score because the original one has nailed it in every fight. There are a lot of storyline changes made in the name of creative liberty which mingles with the story well too, so even that worked out. Oda being an executive producer made his mark indeed and you will see that the main plot remains the same, it was just given a bit more humane touch and can be considered a good start to start your one piece anime journey.

A movie with a strong message and a long struggle to showcase
12 March 2022
A gutsy attempt to show out the hypocrisy we have in pur hearts for LGBTQ and people who we as society think is not normal. The movie raises an important question *Why should one even think of society and people before loving anyone?* Love has always been a thing that comes from within and no one has right to question who you want to love. Brilliant acting, good script, decent plotline and average soundtracks but a strong message which families, relatives, and society need to understand as whole, *Love is Love*

The Office (2005–2013)

It is such a memorable ride. Well, that's what she said.
27 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I thought I will put in the review when I will finish the show but I know, for me this show is over when Steve Carell left after Season 7 and now it started to seem less funny and more stretchy. But I want to talk about how good the show is, the jokes, the intelligent writing and plot also ths show is about how everything is just so uncomfortable in an office that it starts being funny and you don't even know why you are laughing sometimes, that is the impact of the show. Made me cry my eyes out when Michael left, and maybe that is where the soul of the show also left. Idk why big production houses do such a huge mistake and ruin up a good show, everytime. I am just sad that this has the potential of going over 15 seasons but ended on a quick note. Maybe it became hard to go through, over time. Well, that's what she said. I will finish the show, but the real one ended after season 7 for me and I will always remember it. One hell of a ride, indeed.

Joker (I) (2019)
9/10
If you haven't seen this, what have you ever seen?
4 October 2019
"You get what you deserve." And we as fans deserved this movie. Before you go into theatres, Do remember, celebrate the acting, not the character. Yes, the world is getting crazier, yes people treat each other like trash and yes, we expect a mentally ill person to behave as if they don't :') but do remember, we all have a joker inside us, just never let it take over the sane side of yours. Coming to the movie, From the starting minute to the very ending, it was a display of sheer brilliance. From the acting to cinematography and finally the soundtrack, everything just clicks. Though people who are thinking it is about the joker we all celebrate, the one we loved in dark knight, they have to remember that it is an ORIGINS STORY. There are no ifs no buts, there are no big ventures or plans, it is just how the actual concept of joker came into picture, what made a normal person turn against the society and how anyone can be a joker, the clown but they don't have to and also how it all just fits because remember, that's LIFE. Stunned. Overwhelmed. Enchanted. All hail the clown prince of Gotham City. #PutOnAHappyFace

A familiar outlook with a different perspective
31 May 2019
"What so special about an oil lamp?" "Oh it is a magical lamp." A disney classic which made our childhood memorable and now yet again, Disney proved that change is constant by bringing about small changes in an already perfect plot. The direction, the acting, the music, everything just pitch perfect and that is how you make a remake. Will smith steals the show as a genie and an explorer, the twisted ending is one of my favourites and in the end I will just say "Trouble? You are only in trouble if you get caught." A must watch cinematic experience. Thank you disney for making this movie a lifetime remembrance. The kid in me rejoiced when all the old song played, the writer in me applauded the new dialogues and outlook and just me wondered when we all grew up so much.
