7 Minutes (2014)
Pointless but watchable
If you are looking to watch a movie that you won't have necessarily to follow, keep reading. Otherwise, you will be disappointed. This movie starts well: it follows an interesting style of narration (Flashbacks which carefully explain the main Event through the single introduction of characters) and employs good actors. Unfortunately it also lacks an ending: the feeling after the ending credits reminds that sour sensation that something more could (should) have been done. This movie does not aspire to anything more than a decent box office outcome, but it could have been something more, if they had believed it to mean anything. It is just incomplete, and because of that, pointless to watch in the first place.
Kidnapping Mr. Heineken (2015)
A movie made in a rush
I think the story could have been developed way more than what they did. In the first part of this movie, we get introduced to the main characters who - I have to say - have no blame at all in the low scoring of this movie: they are interesting, each one different from one another, with different dynamics going on. Somewhere along the way though, the director or the Writers decided that they needed to be quicker. That is where you can clearly sense how they push a Fast Forward button and every single development present in the first part of the movie is quickly and mercilessly unfold without any decent or (expected maybe)deeper explanation. As other reviewers have already written, this story could have definitely become an impressive Movie, especially thanks to the Actors who took part in it. I have given it a 6/10, but only because of the Actors and the interesting story.
The Messengers (2015)
It wont survive Season 1..
Well.. Only two episodes are gone and I almost fear to know already how this new TVShow will painfully push itself to a very predictable and (why not) ridiculous cliffhanger at the end of the Season that wont more than probably be developed with a (clearly) unnecessary Season 2.
The main characters appeared out of nowhere without any sort of introduction to the audience. Meaning: why should I ever care about any of them? These Characters' lack of soul and identity makes the Show not only very boring, but also senseless to watch. Apocalypse?Messengers? Really?? How is going to end,I wonder....
I don't want to spend many words on the same subject, but I really feel like this Series has lower chances to be renewed than Series like Flash Forward,Camelot,The Event etc ever had in the first place. I'm just saying.
The Cobbler (2014)
Nice Idea. Not much development
I have Always enjoyed Adam Sandler movies. This one is different from most of them. The usual humor that we can Always expect from Adam Sandler movies is not present, the atypical moral compass that usually sets the directions of his movies is not there.
The Cobbler comes from a not so original idea but from a very original decision to bring it on the Big Screens. I find it actually so good that probably the main negative observation to the Whole movie is actually not to have developed it in a deeper way.
To be clear, this movie with the Actors involved in it (good acting from everyone) and with the basic idea of the Cobbler that it was referring to, could have easily been a small treasure. Instead, they have just brought a strong idea into an incredibly predictable (and already seen on TV thousands of times) scenario: the big rich man looking forward to become even richer (in this case woman) against the poor/defenseless inhabitants of a crappy neighborhood soon to be demolished. Well, that's it.
Hopefully next time that we will read Adam Sandler, Steve Buscemi,Dustin Hoffman, Ellen Barkin and Lynn Cohen's names together, the expectation will be fully satisfied.
Olympus (2015)
Waste of time
If you love watching TV Series, just forget about this one and move on to the next that you have in mind.
Some low budget TV shows deserve to be watched because of the quality of the stories, of the Actors , of the director's vision, of the visual effects, etc. None of the above is OLYMPUS case. There is nothing interesting about this Show. The storyline is (guess what) as far as possible from any decent Mythology plot that you could hope for. The Actors seem to be clueless about everything going on, in general: when you watch it, you have the constant impression to be watching a bunch of weird dressed mad people wondering around a TV Set with awful visual effects.
Do not be fooled by any misleading hope of finding any interesting character to rely to.
This is possibly one of the WORST TV Shows ever created. It wont survive to this 1st Season, so do yourself a big favor and move on to the next. We have plenty of good choices to enjoy.
