Elizabethtown Worth Seeing
23 October 2005
What a sweet story!! There is no other movie like this one, not even close. It is a completely different kind of love movie that has never been created before. There may be some small parts that remind you of other film, but overall it's a completely new breath of fresh air in the movie world. Orlando Bloom was chosen perfectly for his sweet character. It was so wonderful to see him in this sweet American "chick flick" and he really made it worthwhile. There are some slow parts in the film, but, ladies, all you have you have to do is watch Orlando and the time flies by. This is a really cute film to drag your husband or boyfriend too. They won't want to go, but usually during a love story it's always nice to have the person you love sitting right beside you. It's makes the movie even more special and worthwhile. As the tag line say, "It's a heck of a place to find yourself".

Mrs. Flax - The "Best Mother" In Town
2 October 2005
A creative, hilarious movie about two girls and their liberal out-of-this-world mother. The glamorous Cher plays the world known Mrs. Flax who moves around a lot because she's afraid of town gossip about herself. Wionna Ryder plays a lost girl searching for her father and for her true self along with her sister Katie played by a young Christina Ricci. Growing up is hard to do, but it's even harder for these girls with a mother on-the-run from gossip. You can describe Mrs. Flax as a person who has been around the block a few times, has different ideas about almost everything in life, a person who runs away from her problems or as she says "moves on", and doesn't believe in anything. This is an excellent film mothers should watch with their teenager daughters. There will be tons of laughter and probably heart felt feelings shared at the end of the story. Girls should definitely see it, but maybe not with a guy around. It's a strong woman story with special stuff only women go through. Cher, Bob Hopkins, Wionna Ryder, and Christina Ricci all provide wonderful chemistry on screen. They were all perfectly cast even to the point where Wionna and Cher look very much alike. This film is one ladies should see and will be remembered for the quirky rituals of Mrs. Flax for ages (a.k.a. marshmallow kabobs!!!).

Catch Me If You Can - One Of Speilburg's Best
1 October 2005
Catch Me If You Can is an absolutely fun film from the theme song to the adventures of Leonardo DiCaprio's Frank Abignale. The actors and characters are outstanding! Based on a true story of a con artist who couldn't handle the divorce of his parents, Leonardo DiCaprio breathes life again to the young Frank. Tom Hanks provide hilarity and a sternness to the plot as he and Leonardo provide perfect chemistry on the screen. Everything is perfectly set in it's time of the 1960s. From the airports to the clothes, the 60s are brought to life again. Steven Speilburg did a wonderful job, as well as the people who did props, clothes, and other items, bringing this picture to life. Comedy, romance, suspense, family, and the true art of bank fraud are brought forward in this remarkable film. With a shocking ending and sweet story line, this film definitely deserved more credit than it got. Watch it. You won't regret it.

The Corpse Bride Is To Die For
1 October 2005
I think that The Corpse Bride is a beautiful story. It's about true love and kindness. Johnny Depp is a perfect Victor Van Dort and all the characters are played wonderfully. The animation is superb from facial expressions to a reflection in a tear drop. The ending is one worth waiting for. It's an excellent film that all families should see. I'd suggest not taking children younger than 8 or 9. They might not understand the story line that young, but they'll love the dancing skeletons and the fun songs! That was a surprise: all the songs they sang. If there's one song you must hear it has to be the skeleton one, but also the piano sequence is beautiful as well. Hope you enjoy the film as much as I did!
