The best of the best
16 May 2006
If you're making a list of the greatest films ever made during the course of the 1980s, you have got to put this on top of your list. This movie deals with all the issues we have to deal with during our lives from affairs to fights to coming to terms, this movie tackles all of those issues in spectacular fashion. Shirley Maclaine gives the performance of a lifetime as Aurora Greenway a high strung mother who does her best to make sure that her daughter played by Debra Winger has the best life she can possibly have while falling in love with a boozed up astronaut played to perfection by Jack Nicholson who deserved the supporting actor Oscar for his performance. When you're talking about a film that deals with family issues, this is number 1. Shirley, Debra, Jack, Danny, John and Jeff, they're all perfect in this movie. James L. Brooks gives us his best piece of work in his movie career, this work of his overshadows his development of the Simpsons, his direction of As good as it gets, and all of his other works. If you want a great movie, go get this movie, it's the best of the best!

The best, the greatest, the best movie ever put on film!

Of all the movies that I have neither heard of or seen, I have never seen a movie that was so good, I had to watch it about 150 times. The Blues Brothers is the greatest movie a director has directed, a producer has produced, a writer has written or an actor has acted in. The Blues Brothers is a perfect example of how every good comedy should be made. John Belushi gives his greatest performance of his entire career as Jake Blues, he takes the character and makes it as good as it was written. Dan Aykroyd has never been better. In this movie, he shows that he's got game and that he can dominate a movie with such force in his character, it'll knock your socks off. The movie also features cameos from such famous musicians such as Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Cab Calloway and James Brown. The musicians are just as good as the rest of the cast was, some are great, some are very good and some are fall on your back hilarious! The Blues Brothers is the perfect movie for anyone who loves slapstick comedy, blues music, cars crashing and the combination of John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. If you want a great comedy flick, go get this movie!

A classic!

If any of you like quiet movies about a broken hearted man looking for something extra, you need to go see this movie, it's one of the best movies ever brought to a motion picture screen and it's use of both comedy and drama from legendary independent film director Jim Jarmusch is without a doubt some of the most amazing dialogue that I have ever seen in a movie. Bill Murray proves to all of us that he's not just a comedic actor but he is also a man who just wants to get noticed in Hollywood after all the work he's done but the problem is that no one seems to notice poor Bill, anyway, if you want a good romantic movie, go see this film, it'll be worth something big!
