Jarhead 2: Field of Fire (2014)
Not bad at all pretty good
I was reluctant to buy this after owning the first "Jarhead" which I was highly disappointed in basically 2 hrs of b.s. But this film although not really a sequel was actually pretty good if your a huge war movie buff or an ex marine, as I am both I definitely recommend it; lots of action (unlike the first one) and a pretty decent storyline. When I seen it on the shelf at Wal mart I was reluctant to buy it being that I never heard of it coming out and because I HATE B grade movies, especially involving war so I looked it up on IMDb as I often do and since it had a decent rating I chose to gamble on it and was definitely not let down. I feel my money was well spent for sure not some B grade movie crap Like I was afraid of. So in conclusion if your a war movie fan try it out.
To Hell and Back (1955)
Great WW2 Movie
What an awesome war movie. I'm an ex marine who's a huge war movie buff I watched pretty much everything so I started getting into the classics Id never even heard of this movie, just bought it buying some other war films and after watching it it's definitely become one of my absolute favorites. Although it was made over 50 years ago watching it was greatly entertaining and then after finding out it starred the actual person who went through and did all of this made it even more intriguing and fascinating for me I think it's better than Saving Private Ryan. I think one of the other reasons it's so good is because it's basically non stop real life action there's no time to get bored with it like you do with some action films and it's all quality mad even for it's age no cheap photography and video tricks. I would highly recommend this movie to any war film lovers old or young I'm 24 and absolutely loved it.
Maggie (2015)
Highly disappointed
I never heard of the film but was at Wal mart n seen it so with Arnold being my fav actor n hero I bought it I expected something like she was infected he takes her n goes on the run getting into gun fights etc to protect her. boy was I wrong he takes her home then it goes on and on and on with her just dying until she finally kills herself. No action no hook no arc just that. Arnold of course did a great performance and the movie was very we'll made but the script and plot itself are highly flawed. Very disappointed not sure why Arnold agreed to it. I'm a HUUUUUUGE fan of properly made zombie movies and also one of great action movies and sorry to say this was neither.
The Constant Gardener (2005)
Horrible movie
This honestly was a terrible movie I'm a big movie guy so I go to Salvation Army or Goodwill and buy movies buy the box load n what I like I keep and what I don't I return and this is definitely going back. It starts off with a teacher dating (n later marrying) one of his students and she's like a real big "left wing" liberal "save the people" type and they end up in Africa and she dies, but the story goes like backwards from before she dies and the whole time she's with this black African that I never could tell if she was "with", while she's married. I couldn't even sit and watch the whole movie the plot was Absolutely terrible, I shut it off half way through the only thing I give it is it's got the visual and audio techniques of a big budget film, but as far as the story goes; terrible. The cover of the DVD box way exaggerated the film. Save yourself the time.
Men of Honor (2000)
True story of the first black man to become a navy diver amongst other navy firsts
It's the story of the first black man to become a navy diver as we'll as many other firsts it's we'll cast and it's pretty entertaining for a true story drama at the same time I won't lie to you it is a little bit slow and at points boring. There's some movies that you start watching them and your so into the picture that before you know it it's over, not so much the case here. In this movie I found myself getting a little bit restless at times, but all in all it's a pretty good flick which is why I rated it at a 6. I do think that the movie was we'll researched in the real life events depicted here, and the actors also played the parts very we'll; a lot times I've seen with different past period movies, that the actors just look like they don't fit the times or the person or group there representing I think for the most part the actors in this did a Fairly good job of making it believable.
The War at Home (1996)
Great actors but kind of disappointed with the movie
OK I'm a big movie buff and buy used movies by the box to watch, this is how I came to find "the war at home". I had high expectations with Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez both being in the picture as we'll as I'm a huge Vietnam fan and fan of that time period. I was very disappointed though as I got through the first half of the movie I was bored and irritated, as nothing was happening in the movie, it's just a vet back from Vietnam living at his parents house with his sister, and him being extremely antisocial, he doesn't really go anywhere or do anything he just kind of sits around the house ;(that's pretty much what everyone else does too) being mean to his family and there's not even like flashbacks or anything until later in the movie and there all a total of 3 minutes long. You may like this movie but I didn't it's just very boring and even at the end nothing ever really happens. Its almost like watching someone's real life family and nothing really interesting happens. I was one of the people who LOVED Forest Gump, but this not even close. So in conclusion sorry but if I were you I wouldn't waste my time or money on this.
