It's hard to believe horror can be this good....
26 October 2018
This series will either impact you to a high degree or it won't at all. I don't think there is an in-between. The series deserves a dark room to watch it in, a quiet hour to absorb it fully and an open mind to appreciate it. Just a note: this series may haunt you after it's over.

The Nun (2018)

Just barely ok.
10 September 2018
James Wan knew how to create dread and tension, less is more is a key element in horror (or should be). Here the new director hasn't figured that out yet. The movie was boring and a little bit cliché. The acting borders on amateur a few times. This tries to be part Exorcist, part Poltergeist but ends up predicable and not real fun to watch unfortunately.

Unfunny and Too Long
8 June 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Let me just say, I am a big Adam Sandler fan. I love and find most of his movies funny. This one was not. The jokes were lame, and way too crude for a pg-13 rating. I just kept thinking my daughter was watching this two seats away, and I felt uncomfortable with the many reverences to sex. It lasted two hours but didn't have two hours of comedy material. It felt preachy about tried to teach tolerance when it came to people from the middle east but came off unbelievably stupid. I find it strange how great comedy writers like Adam Sandler and Judd Apatow could produce such a piece of crap! I wouldn't waste your time on this one. Or wait till it hits H.B.O.

It's a sad day for Alien & Predator fans...
21 April 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I was hoping for so much more from this sequel of a prequel to a very successful line of movies. It starts off right where the previous movie left off, a mutated hybrid of an alien and predator (prealien I guess)causes havoc and terror to an unsuspecting town in Colorado. Filled with it's fair share of plot holes and minor movie canon annoyances, I found myself actually kinda ticked off the way the Brothers Strause handled some of my favorite Sci-Fi characters. This flick is basically a slasher movie with E.T.'s thrown in, you could just as easily tossed in Zombies or Freddy Kruger and it would have been virtually the same movie. Some of the problem was I just didn't care about the characters, In the Alien movies, Ellen Ripley was a character you cared about, you wanted to see her live and win, In Predator, you wanted to see Arnold kick ass and walk out at the end with one of his world famous cheese lines. In this film I wanted to see everyone die. The end of the movie brings a slight ( and I emphasize slight,) plot twist that explains an unanswered question or two. Rent this movie if your a fan just to say you've seen it, but skip buying it.

Torque is semi-mindless fun
16 November 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I dig custom car, truck, and bike themed movies, some are good, many are not to great. But I was surprised at this one. Quite a bit of action and humor. Ice Cube rocks in this one, Matt Schulze's hair did not rock. Hot chicks, car chases, and even Kung Fu fighting. OK, so there's quite a bit of Pepsico references in the movie, I personally like Pepsi, it's the taste of a new generation. If you enjoyed The fast and the Furious, then chances are you'll dig this one to. Jesse James even makes a cameo, Yayy!!! Yeah it has it's predictable plots and it's cheesy one liners but hey, so did Titanic and that movie was one of the most popular flicks of the nineties.
