The Fall: Their Solitary Way (2016)
you are kidding me
I truly wish I could get all the time back I spent watching the third season. Eventually I accepted this entire season was going to be about the court case and ridiculous mental games Spector was playing. That's fine (except that every episode put me to sleep because it was just not engaging at all like the first two seasons). But to end this show with Spector killing hinself? This is such a slap in the face. The world is full of people who don't face punishment for their crimes and to spend this much time watching a show for this to be the ending is just insulting. As another poster mentioned, it was so unbelievable!! There is no damn way they let Spector walk around by himself or not be handcuffed or isolated from others after he just attacked two police officers in an interview!
Up until this point, I was honestly blown away by the level of detail they had in this show for procedure and processes. It was such a reframing part of the show. To throw that by the wayside to give Spector an easy way out is some of the worst writing I've ever seen. I will never watch anything from this writer or director ever again.
The Fall (2013)
incredible annoyed
I am beyond annoyed at this show, specifically how it ended. I'm all for a show that is slow paced, the first two seasons had enough to keep you engaged. It was particularly interesting how they would stick with scenes for much longer than most shows would to let the dialogue play out longer. BUT, to go from the first two seasons to the third season is such a slap in the face. There is a fine line between slow paced and boring. The third season episodes had me falling asleep! It was great to watch right before bed, extremely hard to stay engaged. The WORST of the worst is how the show ended. There are plenty of people who don't face punishment for their crimes and to see Spector kill himself is just disgraceful. Disgraceful!! I will never watch this show again or anything this writer or director does going forward.
Welcome to Wrexham: Shaun's Vacation (2023)
use your heads
Wow this is the first episode that made me mad lol Rob and Ryan have shown this episode that they are
completely unaware of how their actions affect other people. As someone who was a middle manager for many years, I really felt for Humphrey and Shaun. I don't know how much of this story is tailored to make a dramatic episode, but if it's true than I've lost a little respect for Rob and Ryan. How can you be so obtuse to think doing this blimp prank without warning anyone was a good idea? Or how can you forget when you have millions of social media followers that your actions matter? It's just a bit ridiculous.
Untold (2021)
Not enough from Manti
I remember this story well and this documentary was quite eye opening. Another example of how differing the media can be, but more so, how disgusting we can be to each other. Why did Netflix give so much air time to this vile con-artist? Made me sick listening to them. The level of thought and commitment put into this fantasy was insane. Manti's life was completely upended and he could have ended up making quite a name for himself. I can't stand Netflix for trying to get us to feel empathy for the criminal who messes up his life. I do wonder what would have happened had he decided to go into the draft his senior year, maybe this story would have had a happier ending.
Evil: The Demon of the End (2022)
Decent, but not enough development
Overall I have enjoyed this series. There have been some interesting stories and I like that sometimes you have to decide for yourself what happened. My biggest issue is that we just finished Season 3 and we really haven't developed the story enough, it's just a bit slow for my taste. If we don't get a definitive end to Leland's storyline then I'll probably stop watching.
Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
CGI can't save a horrible plot
Honestly disappointed. I went in with low expectations, but this movie didn't even meet them. Yes, the dinosaurs were pretty cool and had great animation. It is not good enough to save the atrocious plot of this movie. I was ready for the movie to be over an hour in and felt bored most of the movie. All of the tension was forced and it was so predictable! To the point where I could count down from three to my wife to predict a larger dinosaur would pop out. I'm thankful that this movie brought my wife and I closer over our shared laughter at the ridiculous plot. I won't see these movies in theater any longer, I'm so glad it was free.
Death on the Nile (2022)
Enjoyable
I'll spare you the time to advise the very poor reviews are from die hard Christie fans who are just so hurt to see a movie updated. If you're so upset every time, stop watching them. Overall, this movie kept our interest and we enjoyed that it was a slow burn. I love a good murder mystery. Is this the best movie ever made? No. Will I want to watch it again? No. That's OK, not every movie has to be perfect. This movie is a solid 6-7. The CGI budget was lacking but it was still a nice looking movie. While I enjoyed Gal Gadot in the original Wonder Woman, her subsequent movies have shown she is a rather plain actress. Her face lacks all emotion and she arguably had the worst performance in this movie which is a shame.
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 7: In the Name of Honor (2022)
meh, it was fine
I mainly wanted to write this review just to say how much I hate most Star Wars fans lolol Some of you are so damn toxic, get some therapy. The episode was fine. I was hoping for better but it's hard to articulate. Please destroy those ridiculous scooters or change the colors. Pretty sure we all predicted the other gang leaders would betray him, shocker. Not sure I would call this a war, so many horrible tactical decisions it was almost painful to watch. The music is always on point and I'm sad that we're done with the Tuscans. Honeslty I would have preferred this show be more about that, it was far more meaningful and impactful.
Murderville (2022)
ya'll, relax lol
It's comical to read how many people have such STRONG feelings about such a light hearted, silly tv show. Yikes, go do some yoga or something. My wife and I laughed out loud the entire first episode. It was refreshing to watch a new kind of tv show and it's understandable that not every joke is going to land. Don't listen to dramatic people that should be on a stage themselves. Just like all reviews, you should ignore all ratings with a 1 or 10 because they have no idea how to objectively review anything.
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian (2022)
Episode about building a ship
Rated a 6 purely for the crossover. Boba not in the episode at all. They LITERALLY spent 18 minutes building and testing his ship. 18 minutes. BARELY moved the plot forward. I almost fell asleep. C'mon now. I go in with low expectations but this didn't even meet them. These seasons are already short so the fact that so much time is wasted on trivial things like street chases with a neighborhood bike gang or building a ship is a true disappointment.
The Blacklist: Gaia (No. 81) (2016)
Yawn
This baby storyline is incredibly old already. I'm hoping it doesn't last much longer or I won't be able to keep watching. It's starting to feel a bit more like a soap opera.
The Many Saints of Newark (2021)
Where is Tony?
We burned through The Soprano's and we're so excited to hear this movie was coming out. This was one of the biggest movie disappointments we've experienced in a while. We stopped watching after 30 minutes, had absolutely nothing to do with Tony. Start after that and maybe this movie will be as intended.
Blue Bayou (2021)
Very moving, story could have been better
Don't get me wrong, this is a powerful story shedding a light on the awful fate that some families live through. However, the story didn't need the second cop whatsoever. Without that character, I'd rate this a 7-8. His character was unnecessary and quite unbelievable, especially the pivotal scene with him near the end. At that point, I stopped caring for the movie due to how ridiculous it was. Outside of that, we enjoyed it.
The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2021)
more powerful than anticipated
I was not anticipating being moved so much by thus movie. The performance for Tammy was so full of passion you just couldn't help but feel her every emotion. We truly enjoyed this movie.
What If...?: What If... Killmonger Rescued Tony Stark? (2021)
rated 10 to cancel the 1's
Lots of Stark fanboys here. This episode wasn't nearly as bad as everyone is saving, definitely better than the first episode without question. Yes Tony is smart but people are forgetting how smart Killmonger was as well.
Ted Lasso: Man City (2021)
had it's moments
I fully realize this show is only so much based on reality, but it kills me when things happen that woukd never happen in real life such as Jamie's Dad being a total jerk in the locker room and no one kicking him out. That stuff holds back a great score for me. And the new love story? C'mon now. I know that happens with older men a lot more than women but it's still gross.
Holey Moley: A Finale of Epic Proportions (2020)
rigged
Wow, to have Tanner "the white buffalo" win is a joke. It seemed so rigged. He shouldn't have won his first appearance and his first putt in the finale they never showed the full putt, it was clearly edited. I'm supposed to believe he sunk a putt over two hills first try? This is why I hate these kinds of shows, they're rigged.
Black Widow (2021)
Not as bad as everyone implies
Apparently I'm the only one who truly enjoyed this movie. My major test of a movie is if I ever think about the time which I didn't, I was engrossed the entire time. I loved that there wasn't just non-stop action and we really got to see inside some of the characters. People just love focusing on all the things wrong with a movie, it's just human nature. I will focus on how much I enjoyed this movie and I might see it again.
Mortal Kombat (2021)
Exactly what I was expecting
I really enjoyed this movie. My expectations were low going in but wow did this movie not hold back! I don't know how anyone can say the fight scenes were bad, I thought they were very well done and there were tons of them!! Sure I was expecting a tournament too but I think they are saving it for a sequel. I was bummed the main theme song didn't rock out but maybe they didn't have rights to it? Either way, they didn't over complicated a basic story line and overall it was an enjoyable movie.
WeWork (2021)
I can't stop shaking my head
Overall I thought this was well done. It's shocking how a company can grow to a giant but is made of fluff. I enjoyed everything except the end. It seemed like they had no idea how to end it and decided to do something with masks? Just strange.
Godzilla vs. Kong (2021)
It's Godzilla, did you expect the plot to be good??
I rated an 8 strictly because this was more streamlines than the other two and gave me everything I wanted out of a monster movie. This one had much less pointless human story lines and focused on some amazing monster scenes!! Seriously though, ya'll are cracking me up complaining about plot about a movie where Godzilla and King Kong fight. Yikes!
Prisoners (2013)
high ratings make no sense
The writing in this movie is rather lazy, I'm truly baffled how how this movie is ranked so high
La casa de papel: Game over (2020)
poor writing
The second the writers decided that Tokyo was a good leader, I knew this would go down hill. And with Arturo back in the mix, it's almost unwatchable. I've never wished a character as dead as him since Jeffrey in Game of Thrones. Now Monica will be sympathetic to Arturo and is shocked that Denver would punch him? Wooooow. It's a soap opera.
La casa de papel (2017)
Overdone
I'm so tired of watching movies/shows that involve a negotiator and then someone high ranking shows up and there is predictable tension between the negotiator trying to do their job and the other person wanting to break in the doors. I want better writing.
The Little Things (2021)
Poor writing from the beginning
I really wanted to like this one, but it was clear from the beginning that the writing is just poor. It was good enough to keep my attention but ultimately ended in disappointment. The whole mystery behind Denzel's past made it difficult to care about his character. They showed glimpses of his past relationships but since there was nothing meaningful shown as to WHY I should care about him, I truly could care less. They shouldn't have waited til the end to shine a light on that mystery.
