The Morning Show: Love Island (2023)
Bass Ackwords!
An episode that takes us back in time, unwillingly and makes as glad we are where we are today! Talk about a trip and fall! This show has no idea what it wants to accomplish! It has gone off the rails and whatever ground they have gained in the first 4 episodes of this 3rd season, has now been buried in the trash bin! Its characters are lost, the writing is stale and lazy, and the storyline makes no sense in this midway point of the season.
If this is the way they tell the backstory of these characters, then it shows they have no path towards the future. Over dramatic acting and over the top l, far away glances and longing looks are not going to carry this over the goal line as hoped.
Ahsoka: Part Three: Time to Fly (2023)
Horribly short, but not much substance
This isn't animation and if you're only giving us 8 episodes, each should be 1 hour in length! Space battles are nice, but there's not much substance there.
The start of the episode was slow, but picked up a little and gave us more details and story building.
There could have been a bit more detail provided outside the space battle. That time was wasted on what we have already seen in Star Wars for many years.
The story was very thin however and stretched out a bit, and could have given us more substance and less fluff. More story driven scenes that promote the character development and less lasers.
The ending is abrupt and felt awkward.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 19: The Convert (2023)
For Mature Audiences Only!
This episode of Andor, I'm, The Mandalorian, is for mature audiences only! Forget what you have grown to love about this show. Baby Yoda, spaghetti westerns in space; this episode takes us deeper into the worlds of the Star Wars genre.
Yes, we get a really amazing Dog fight with Bo-Katan, Din Djarin, R5, and Grogu, but we are invited into a deeper place, a more robust world and storytelling in this longer than normal episode of our beloved series! What we get is another story arc! Another path down a road in the Star Wars universe that we have never experienced before. How can you not be thankful for this?!
This is setting the stage for another aspect of this series that we can not yet appreciate, but we know will pay off before the season ends! It requires patience, it requires attention, it requires respect for storytelling.
It's leaning more towards Andor, and while not the taste or speed for some, the rest of us savor it. We welcome it. We look forward to what comes next.
Your Honor: Part Thirteen (2023)
Hilarious!!!
The entire premise of this show is so out of whack, that it's hard not to laugh. The scenarios they put these characters in are so preposterous. Brian Cranston does his best to act through this poorly conceived plot.
Having the judge drinking at the mobsters hotel bar is ludicrous and so incredibly insulting to the audience. The ridiculous conversation that they both had about the events that led up to the incident at the end of last season, is incredibly stupid.
How anyone could think this show is above 5 stars is unreal. Put a lid on this kitchen fire of a disaster as soon as possible and never let them create another season of this trite mess!
Your Honor: Part Eleven (2023)
Laughable script!
The first season was bad enough, hard to believe this ridiculous show came back for season two! Just because you have Brian Cranston as your lead, doesn't mean he is going to carry a terrible storyline, ridiculous script and awful plot!
This should have ended with the last episode of season one. Drawing this clown show out to a second season is laughable! Brian Cranston's character would have been killed inside of 1 hour in prison. The mobster family is trite and no one would be having a candle light ceremony for their son.
The acting is shallow and the plot predicable. Dramatic lighting isn't going to carry this carnival.
Im Westen nichts Neues (2022)
German's with British accents. But beautifully done!
Instantly drawn out of this film because of the blatant British accents of the German soldiers. Outside of that spectacular cinematography! Great sets and lighting! Costumes are exceptional and it's an exquisitely edited and directed. The audio is another aspect of this film that immerses you into the scenes, making you literally duck your head and wince as the characters move through the story.
There's no romance here, just brutal, down in the mud and blood warfare! When the characters bleed, we bleed, when they cry, we cry, when they are frightened, we feel it! The steady and horrifying onslaught of cruelty that we humans inflict on one another are felt in the most tactical way.
Andor: The Axe Forgets (2022)
Like a slowly boiling pot of water...
This episode is a simmer to a slow boil, which will eventually cause it to overflow into a very traumatic situation for these characters. This is world and character building at its best. Unlike a lot of other Star Wars series, we get the opportunity to see each character in their own situation, in their own snapshot of their current situation, in a very real and pure way.
This is unlike any other Star Wars, movie or series that we have seen before, it takes its time and presents each character in a way that feels like they each have their own chapter. We've never seen characters in the Star Wars movie presented in such a granular way before, it feels like each character is being introduced to us in a very personal way.
This series commands patience and thoughtfulness. It immerses you in the world as you watch it. That is the beauty of the series, it takes care in developing the story and the characters. The creators and show runners have a respect for the characters, the story and the viewers, and their knowledge and experience in Star Wars universe. It's worth sitting back and taking it all in and immersing yourself in this universe as it unfolds.
Stranger Things: Chapter Six: The Dive (2022)
5 stars - The heart is gone
The show as we knew it from S1,2, has gone away. This "Nightmare on Elm Street', 'Fright Night', 'Evil Dead' theme is old, boring and quite frankly is insulting. They have ruined good characters and the vibe of what ST made so much fun to watch. Now it's pure shock and awe.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part IV (2022)
Great episode!
Ignore the whiners and decide for yourself how this episode makes you feel and what it means to you. I thought it was a great episode with lots of action and it was very heartfelt. You negative people need to just be quiet and let us enjoy the story.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part III (2022)
Fantastic!
This episode was dark, brooding and terrifying. Great story. Anyone complaining needs to just turn it off and watch episodes 4,5,6 and never watch another SW show again. Live in the past! You'll never relive the feeling SW gave you when you were younger!
Stranger Things: Chapter One: The Hellfire Club (2022)
Lost its way
The Show has completely lost its way. Not sure where they are trying to take the characters to and it is completely confusing and unlike any other seasons that preceded this one.
Ted Lasso: Beard After Hours (2021)
Disconnected
This episode is so disconnected from every other it seems as if this was a completely separate thread they wanted to go with, that doesn't fit the entire series. Didn't do the character justice.
Your Honor: Part Eight (2021)
Unrealistic! Flawed and failed!
The liberties taken for artistic purposes with relation to the law and the justice system are a joke. What is more of a joke with this series is the set of circumstances and situations that are shown and highlighted and then completely dismissed or not addressed after they have been presented to us, the audience. I will give no spoilers, but if you have been paying attention, you know what they are!
The series is failed and flawed from the word go! Anyone who gives this series more than 5 stars is not paying attention!
The Mandalorian: Chapter 14: The Tragedy (2020)
Action packed but too short!
Excellent episode, but could have gone another 15-20 minutes!
The Crown: Olding (2019)
Zzzz
Wake me up when the good stuff starts. This yawner of a first episode was a struggle to stay awake for. If this is setting the tone for this season, we have a long way to go!
