Very of its time
29 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
It has its moments. It's unfortunate that it really doesn't showcase the women paramedics that it purports to showcase. It spends a lot of time talking about how the women will eventually get in over their heads and will not be able to do the job. A lot of the movie feels like a daytime soap.

That being said, it's certainly not all bad. It has some good Emergency! Moments and it's good to see Johnny and Roy again. Although I see why it didn't sell a new series, the problems with traffic congestion and the pier rescue were quite good. I'm not sure the series ever had quite the pyrotechnics that this movie did.

Neat "classic" cars!

Strange in the extreme
14 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
As a couple of reviewers have said, there are some glaring problems with the plot. It took most of the episode honestly to figure out what was going on, and then it just doesn't hold together. There are a lot of the elements that just don't make sense.

That being said, the acting is pretty good from most of the cast. John Hoyt does a good job and. Miriam Hopkins is wonderfully creepy.

As long as you are willing to suspend disbelief (and why watch The Outer Limits if you are not), then the episode is a lot of fun. It is creepy, weird, and odd in the extreme, which honestly makes it well worth a watch.

Laughing out loud

Warning: Spoilers
Holy frayed rope!

Will Mr West be able to escape an electrical end?

This seems like one of the better Batman episodes. It's a bit silly but a lot of fun. The episode utilizes over the top acting as well as over the top colors. Much like Batman. As someone who has not yet seen The Wild Wild West beyond this point it will be interesting to see whether it follows the pattern of Batman and becomes too silly by the last season, or if the characters are allowed to maintain their own personality which is really what makes the series worth watching. I most say, victor Buono is as entertaining as ever.

Terribly sad

Warning: Spoilers
I really expected that this would end with him standing up to the bully and getting the girl. I was unexpectedly surprised and almost cried at the end.

That being said, it was well acted, and a gut wrencher besides. Very good episode. Drama.

Lol

This plays out like a scooby doo episode. All we needed was the chase scene with the music, although we almost got that with the record. Very enjoyable. Creepy for creepy sake. I thought that it was a lot of fun. I too was reminded of the house that jack built. This one was creepier.

Jeanette

Jeanette Nolan makes this episode. Her acting is quite amazing. Her emotion when she's screaming and Perry is great. I like many of the Perry episodes enough to give a nine or ten, but this might well be my favorite.

Just wow
2 January 2020
I've been watching the DVDs in order, and this is my favorite so far. It's complete different than the usual, as it isn't the normal formula where the murderer confesses in court. I don't want to give it away, so I'll just say that the acting is amazing, and it's something different. It keeps you guessing and the turn in the end is unexpected.

Love this version
25 December 2019
I understand that the effects are somewhat lacking, but I love the "feel" of this version of a Christmas carol. Although some have said how dark and melancholy this is, it's the story the way it was written. I like other versions too, but I pull this one out every year.

Patrick Stewart and Joel Gray are particularly great.

Fraggle Rock (1983–1987)
10/10
Amazingly good and timeless
14 January 2019
It's funny. Unlike most of the reviews here, this was not my favorite when I was a child. In fact I remember seeing "Fraggle rock, coming up next" and changing the channel. Funny. I never saw this until I was in my 40s. But I wish I had. Now I'm in my mid 50s and I still think it's the best kids show ever. In fact, it's great for adults too.

I picked up the blueray prints and I'm enjoying my way through Fraggle rock for probably the 4th time. I enjoy the fact that the messages are all there no matter what your age, and they are enjoyable whatever your age. It's simple enough for a child but there's enough substance for an adult too. And what music! Even my 18 year old daughter watches it with me and she's at that age where nothing is good.

My advice? Pick out a couple of the higher rated ones and watch them. You'll soon be hooked and watching them all.

Oh bother the critics!
6 August 2018
If you liked the Disney Pooh shorts and the Milne books then go see this movie. It was a lot of fun and definitely an emotional picture. Lots of fun, kid friendly, clean, and a lot of fun moments that hearken back to the books and films. Just see it. My only problem was that I had to keep the Kleenex handy.

Knight Rider (1982–1986)

Just watched it again after 35 years
20 July 2018
And I still enjoy it. I was a senior in high school when this show premiered. Yes, it is absolutely campy, and of course it is not believable, but maybe that's why I like it so much, even today. This show reminds me of Star Trek, the original series in some ways. It's so over the top that you can forget about any idea of anyone getting hurt. You know before the episode even begins that Michael is going to come through, and good will triumph over evil and the bad guy is going to get it in the end. Just like Trek. But that's what I love about it. If I wanted to see reality, I can find another show, or simply walk out the front door. But this kind of show let's you just take your mind off the hook for a while and pretend that everything always comes out right in the end. If that's what you want, you're in the right place.

How can you go wrong with this cast?
8 April 2018
All of the cast are awesome in their own right. Roddy McDowell who is awesome in Planet of the apes and the Twilight Zone, William Windom from Star Trek and the Twilight Zone, then Anne Francis from Forbidden Planet, and the Twilight Zone, and James Gregory from Star Trek. Oh, and Ida Lupino from Sherlock Holmes too! I love this episode. The first time I saw it, I was amazed because I knew so many of the cast, and was excited about seeing them all in the one show.

Okay, yes it is over acted, but it doesn't make it any less enjoyable. For me, this is just a fun show with a lot of talent all in one place. One of my very favorites.

Mission: Impossible (1966–1973)
9/10
One of the best series ever
28 October 2015
I really love this show. It's fascinating that it was produced by Desilu, at the same time as Star Trek -- also produced by Desilu. You would be able to tell, even if you didn't look at the credits. Many of the guest actors are in both shows, and of course, even some of the stars from Trek can be seen in Mission Impossible. I was able to find the entire series on disc recently, and have been working my way through it. Honestly, I've not found a lemon yet. Some are better than others of course, but none are disappointing. I highly recommend it, and recommend giving the movies a miss. They aren't anywhere near the quality of the original.

Watching Mission Impossible is like entering a time machine. You can see many actors who were just getting started, many who would become big stars as time went by. Carroll O'Connor, long before All in the Family. Ricardo Montalbon, before he became big. George Takei in a role other than Sulu, and of course Leonard Nimoy in a non-Spockian role. Dozens of other actors make their mark that you are sure to recognize if you enjoy TV from the 40's through the 80's or so. Enjoy.
