Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1912)
words can't describe this beautiful oldest film.
I may not like silent films, but this one got my attention. I sat and watched it, it was truly a remarkable film. there were two others before this one, but sadly they are lost. I learned that this was also lost too, but it's now found it's great that film exist. The transformation scenes are dull, but the make-up on Mr. Hyde is brilliant in it's own way. This film may not live up the 1920 silent version or 1931 sound version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde films. But its truly a holy grail. this short film is interesting to watch, but it is only for cult fans. If you have free time give it a watch. I give it 7 out of 10 stars.
Psycho (1960)
The Birth of the Slasher Genre
Before Halloween, this is the movie that started it all. I love it, it's suspense and horrifying and it makes me wonder how it was done so beautifully. This film blew my mind and is one of my favorite Alfred Hitchcock film. I'll always love the shower scene, it brings the chill down to my spine. The music in the film is outstanding.
Now these days a lot of Slasher movies got their inspiration Psycho. I've seen plenty of Slasher movies, some of them are good in their own way while many others just don't live up to their predecessor. but Psycho will always be the best. This movie is brilliant, dark, and it's my favorite Slasher film of all time.
Klay World: Off the Table (2005)
A bizarre, but laughable film.
I love stop-motion animation films cause interesting and fun to watch, but I had doubts that Klay World: Off the Table would be not as good as Nightmare before Christmas. But I was wrong, It's really funny and amazing animation work. This comedy has everything I want, funny characters, okay cast, weird plot, and great stop-motion animation.
There were a lot of goofs in the film I saw. But I just ignore them cause it's funny. I tried Stop-motion animation and it's hard work. but I'm surprised that Robert Benfer made it in only 7 months. That's an achievement. Overall its a great movie. I love it. It's now part of the Stop-Motion animation family.
Saving Mr. Banks (2013)
A funny and heart warming film.
I love this movie, if you love Mary Poppins, then you'll love Saving Mr. Banks. It is funny, cheerful, sad, and a remarkable film that has achieved both the young (especially myself) and old Mary Poppins fans to re-visit and see a favorite childhood movie being made. Like Julie and Julia, it shifts from author Pamela "P. L." Travers difficult childhood and to her negotiations with Walt. I like the time-line it's like I'm revisiting the past. I love the cast, Tom and Emma give a great performance,as well as the rest of the supporting cast members. I laughed and I cried cause it's sad film, but it makes feel you better at the end.
Gekijôban Poketto Monsutâ: Myûtsû no Gyakushû (1998)
Amazing film for all ages.
I was a big Pokémon fan when the games were out as a kid and when the movie came out, I fell in love with the series even more. I couldn't believe how great it was. The poke battles were great. especially the clone battle. For the new and old fans of Pokémon, this movie will bring you back to your childhood and remind you when Pokémon were awesome. Animation movies are evolving. Some are good while the rest don't get as good as the rest. But Pokémon will always be the same. Fun and entertaining. It's a good movie for the child and parents. Parents who are or not Pokémon fans, I recommend it. and remember... Gotta catch them all, Pokémon.
