Ludwig (1973)
Disappointing
This is the sort of film that I normally thrive on...But why do I find this utterly dull? I just don't believe that there can be any enjoyment to be had from this plodding piece of plod...
A shame and a disappointment...................
That's all I can say about this. Perhaps I expected so much more.
The lush visuals just don't justify the viewing.
(This has to be the harshest review I've done, but I am very disappointed..........)
On a positive side...all his other films are great!
Thankyou
The Comedy of Errors (1983)
Pretty enjoyable
I was a bit worried at the beginning, (I just hate 'fire-eaters' in merry crowd scenes..and unfortunately there are jugglers and mimes too, another hate of mine)
So I was tensed from the start.
Luckily it didn't deter me, and I was able to enjoy a great performance from Michael Kitchen, and an amateur but still enjoyable one from Roger Daltry.
OK,the plot is corny, the set minimal.
So what? It's a fun production and I enjoyed it.
(I even smirked a few times)
Not the most crucial Bard Product but recommended all the same!
Revengers Tragedy (2002)
Grand stuff..
I agree with all the positive comments that have been made.
It's greatly entertaining, as nearly all revenge films are. (in my opinion anyway...) It's got asides to the audience. (I do like that) It looks gorgeous, never lags, has great casting/acting. (Although I'm not sure if Alex Cox's cameo fits in here this time.....)
And even the plot's good, I reckon.
So...that's my erudite opinion, (albeit a bit spartan!) Give it a chance, it's great.....
Shame there's no commentary on the DVD tho...
To sum up - great film!
