The Sandman (2022)
Great first half, Bad second half! Overall Disappointing...
First half (for me Ep1-6) of the season was interesting and good, the pacing of the story was fine, good casting, Tom Sturridge as the character Dream, is nailing it, and the voice and acting is just perfect. Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine was awesome, definitely would love to see a standalone spin off of her story, Boyd Holbrook as Corinthian looked super cool. Episode 6 was the best of the season in my opinion. Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer is just not working at all, I'm sorry.
Some Visuals looked great, some didn't, the color grading could've been better, I guess a more darker tone would've felt right. I felt like something was missing in the entire season, I understand it's more about philosophy than just action/magic, but I had much higher expectations.
The second half (Ep7-10) was just bad. First 6 episodes made me an instant Sandman fan, then the rest episodes just killed that enthusiasm (I know that the comics is way different and much more expanded, and different, I'm not comparing). The weaker last four episodes could've been more interesting.
I haven't read the comics (yet), but its on my reading-list. I am familiar with Neil Gaiman's works. I read Lucifer and American Gods.
Let's see what more they bring to the story. And yes, WE WANT A JOHANNA CONSTANTINE SPIN OFF SHOW!
Prey (2022)
THE PREDATOR FIGHTS A WILD BEAR! WATCH IT!
IGONORE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS! THIS FILM IS ACTION-PACKED AWESOMENESS!
People who are putting bad and negative reviews most probably haven't even watched the film,
they probably just watched the trailer or just first 30 minutes of the film which was a bit weaker in my opinion, but it gets better afterwards.
The Predator fights a wild Bear! Now that was badass! This film is really awesome. It had everything I was hoping to see in a Predator film.
The story was really well paced, although I think first 30 minutes could have been a little bit more polished,
but no complaint cause after that the film just starts giving you what you've been waiting for to see in Predator movie, there's a lot of surprises and awesome badass, action sequences that feels really well thought out and I couldn't help but notice 'The Revenant' vives, which is a good thing of course. The ending was a bit rushed, could've been better. The Comanche tribe shown, felt too modern, which made the feel of the film aa bit dull.
Amber Midthunder was really good, she played the character Naru really well, her depiction of having a young, wild hunter spirit really clicked with the film's settings and story telling progression, although there were flaws which I'm ignoring cause the overall impression of the film was superb. Predator costume and props were awesome, its not all just CGI but a lot of real prosthetics, which looked real. Predator gears looked cool, fight scenes were thrilling! Liked the new ideas and new tactics of defeating Predator.
Definitely a good Predator film and a solid start for more that's probably on the way (there's a small tease at the end credit!). A refreshing new start for the predator franchise. The great action packed middle segment of the film saves and kind of makes up for the comparatively weaker beginning and ending of the film.
THE PREDATOR FIGHTS A WILD BEAR! WATCH IT!
A SOLID 8/10!
The Last of Us: Part II (2020)
THE LAST OF US: PART II, IS LOUDER THAN BOMBS!
Finally after a break from my usual gaming time, I felt ready to enter the post apocalyptic world of Last of Us once again. I had played the first title twice before, first time back in 2013, on PS3, blew my mind (and I'm sure everyone else's too) never have anyone ever experienced anything like that before (and then second time the Remastered edition on PS4).
Now on Jan, 2022 I have just finished Part 2 (I couldn't put the controller down), oh man! What a crazy ride! The game is definitely one of the greatest games of our generation. A pure masterpiece and a masterfully crafted, visually stunning piece of magnum opus novel-esque gaming experience to have and to your surprise it leaves you thinking and pondering afterwards.
No doubt, Neil Druckmann, is a master storyteller, and one of the volcanic persons in todays gaming industry (Good news that Neil is currently working on his upcoming live action directorial debut "The Last of Us" TV adaptation form HBO). Gustavo Santaolalla's music just adds another dimensional layer to the story.
The story's dark emotional arcs leave you dry and devastated, while the enthralling gameplay, cinematically detailed rich and lush level designs, bone-chilling action sequences, massive scale of film like set-pieces will surely give you goosebumps.
THERE IS TWO SIDES OF EVERY STORY, IN 'THE LAST OF US: PART II', IT LETS YOU PLAY IT, AND FEEL IT! THANKS TO EVERYONE IN 'NAUGHTY DOG' FOR CREATING AN ART!
God of War (2018)
Thank you Cory!
You need to play God of War !!!
A phenomenal turn of God of War universe, enthralling storytelling, marvelous characters, fascinating gameplay, a perfect drama, heavy and beautiful Music by Bear McCreary, impressive game direction from brilliant Cory Barlog, a 35 hours-ish continuous journey of Kratos and his son Arteus through the world of Norse mythology, a breath taking video game experience that proved to have the potential of redefining third person hack-n-slash action game genre, PlayStation 4 generation is now complete.
Thank you Cory, thank you Santa Monica Studio, and thank you Sony.
The Last of Us: Left Behind (2014)
Solid Story Expansion
A very good story content expansion to The Last of Us, story arc. Although short, but it still adds emotional punches to Ellie's journey. If you are a fan of the original title then you should definitely play this.
War for the Planet of the Apes (2017)
Emotionally dark, beautiful, realistic and a perfect piece of filmmaking
War for the Planet of the Apes, was emotionally dark, beautiful, realistic and a perfect piece of filmmaking from the brilliant director Matt Reeves.
It surely is a good finishing for the Planet of the Apes trilogy. Andy Serkis and other actors did brilliant job on Performance Capture and they do deserve highest of awards.
It's gripping story gives rise to possibilities of more franchises in the world of Planet of the Apes than ending the story. I was lucky enough to catch the Dhaka Premier of this film, and experienced it on Dolby Atmos hall, it was amazing, I had a great time, specially the fight and battle scenes although not very long. I loved it and I would suggest all to watch this film.
All hail Caesar!
