Still special and interesting

I saw this movie quite a while ago and I remember thinking that Liv Tyler's character reminded me of a very good friend of mine!!! I always enjoyed Bertolucci's movies mainly because he showed a dangerous amount of freedom combined with strange tempers and he had his way of understanding teen-agers (I enjoyed "The Dreamers" although the end is a little "out of fashion"). The cast for "Stealing Beauty" is very inspired and gives you the feeling of watching an "old tuscan story". The rebel and charming Liv Tyler begins to understand life and discovers love in the strange atmosphere of her relatives. The movie doesn't claim to be a masterpiece but still Bertolucci's touch will make you notice certain memorable details! If you get the chance, see the movie, it will bring back old pleasant memories...

Well, this movie made me wonder about many things! I think it would have been just as controversial if it was made in the nineties! Indeed, many other films contain sex-scenes much more shocking than the ones in "Ultimo tango a Parigi", but the manner those scenes were filmed was definitely "a new thing". The script of this movie was in my opinion underestimated. It is brilliant, dynamic and keeps you wondering what is going to happen. Yes , Marlon Brando has a great performance but I believe that the movie is great because of the feeling that the characters give you not cause of the characters themselves.

The scene from the end when Maria Schneider says after she shoots Brando: "I didn't even know his name!" points out Bertolucci's solution for the ending: nothing happened in the end, nobody remembers nobody!!! No commitment ...

Definitely see this movie...But if you are a teen, wait a bit until things get more clear for you, I mean, if want to see this movie you should be ready to understand it!

An incredible lesson of life, in a period when everything seemed useless!

Warning: Spoilers
When I first saw "Ladri di Biciclette" I was still infatuated with the idea that all the known movie masterpieces must be regarded as untouchable ideals, that the film is definitely "good" ->end of story! But while I was watching the movie("Ladri di Biciclette") the true sensibility of the characters and of the shooting technique astonished me! The plot is simple but touching, the actors react naturally. Although the times they are living are awful, Antonio and Bruno lift themselves over the daily cares (they do have strong characters) and the father and son relationship is more than believable!!! I've never seen actors understanding each other better, and I don't mean it on a stage level! The looks on their faces when they should cry, but they don't, the famous take when father and son are standing on the sidewalk one thinking about the other, and what is left to be done! But what is most touching is the scene from the end, when Bruno's look actually saves his father from prison. The man who's bike was stolen shows that some people are human even in the darkest of times.

This is movie to be seen, a movie that will make you wonder about the boundaries of humanity, the power of a character and even dare you to think of the mistakes that society makes you commit in order to survive!!!
