The neonlights are lit, but the haunted mansion is mostly empty

The film is horribly campy and cheesy and I love that in a dark comedy. It starts great with introducing the characters.

But in the latter end of the movie it becomes apparent that an actual story is lacking. The makers just wanted to make some great scenes and forgot to have the story go somewhere. The end feels rushed and the happy ending feels undeserved and unfinished.

I was amused by this movie but also have mixed emotions about it.

Great movie to watch if you are not planning to pay real attention to it. Wonderful colors. Fun scenes.

The wheel is spinning, but they forgot to put in a hamster.

The Dictator (2012)

Most of the movie was aladeen, but some parts were just aladeen.

Most of the movie is pretty witty. The satire is crude and unfiltered, but most of it is pretty spot on. A bit like South Park stories but with bigger children.

The gross out humor however could have been way shorter. Some low hanging fruit lowest common denominator jokes were drawn out unnecessarily. I had to skip several 10 minute parts, but I missed none of the story anyway.

The love story part was forced. The suspension of disbelief was stretched so far it was almost painful.

Overall it was a reasonable story and I did laugh several times.

It could have used some extra editing and other extra care, then it would be a really good movie.

Better Watch Out (II) (2016)

79 minutes too long.

Horrors shouldn't be boring, but this one certainly almost put me to sleep. The trailer and raving reviews lied to me. They promised clever plot twists and humor. But apart from the first 10 minutes, everything that happened was utterly predictable;

The script is a shallow Home Alone meets Psycho and the antagonist is nothing more than an evil Mary Sue.

Cut the movie back to 10 minutes then it could be a decent short film.

The acting and directing was done well. I can even forgive the lack of gory SFX because the discretion shots were pretty good, but alas that can't make up for the lack of story.
