Great Little Gem I found on The Netflix
I very much enjoyed this film and didn't see a preview beforehand, so I didn't know what to expect. I watched it because it had Molly Shannon in it, and she's just a peach. Upon watching this.. I'm like, "OK, we got a gay character....OK, another gay character... Oh, no we are in a gay bar making jokes." So that was a pleasant surprise there. Also, this movie isn't "hilarious" as I saw on advertisements and such. This movie has its funny moments, but it's camouflaged over top of very touching emotional issues and Molly Shannon's character, whom is a dying of cancer. So, "hilarious" is too much of a word to say considering I was crying with little hints of chuckling here and there. This movie deserves better ratings, but people suck.. So, I can't expect more than the rating it has. Also, I'd like to say that Jesse Plemons did a GREAT job in his role. I forgot that he was in other movies to be honest, because he was so believable as this gay character... And I hadn't paid that much attention to his work before this. :/ I do remember him in Battleship upon seeing he was in that like 10 minutes ago, and remember thinking he was a little cutie. He has a Matt Damon thing about him going on. I guess his character in this film reminded me of myself, very much so.. And I just wanted to give him a big hug. But enough about me.. Just watch it if you want to watch something touching and you feel compassion for families dealing with losing someone.
Lucy (2014)
Smart Movie
I'm seeing all of the negativity people are posting about this movie and I must say something.
This movie is brilliant. People are going to get upset because is the argument of brain capacity and what would happen, and the universe. People are always going to argue because its hypothetical. This is a movie, not a documentary.
Luc did a great job writing and directing this baby of his. The effects are amazing and he did enough research to fully accomplish this film. He said to himself,"what would happen if we reached 100% brain capacity?" I'm sure everyone would have their own opinion and in this film, Luc expressed his ideals. This isn't something to get upset over.
My favorite part of the movie the changing of her eyes. :) It's amazing. The whole idea of seeing a true visualization of currents and connecting with the Universe is simply a masterpiece.
I'm not giving spoilers, you'll just have to see it yourself people. Happy movies!
After Earth (2013)
Don't believe what you read, This movie is good.
I can't understand all the hate directed to this movie. The film really is great and it didn't BOMB at the box office. Many great movies with great reviews and big budgets make significantly less. The movie racked in 243,824,693 with a budget of around 130 Mill? That's over 100 Mill more over the budget. So after everyone gets paid there is over 100 Mill left over? That's not even including numbers from DVD sales.
Everyone was disappointed that the movie didn't make more money, but honestly, there are many great film makers out there who would kill just to have their work displayed on the screen without making Millions of dollars. It's sad to think that people will only be happy when they make "this amount of money" What about the story?? There was some really interesting moments within the film. I love the relationship that the sister of Katai had. I believe her name was Senshi. I also love the relationship between Katai and the large bird. It was nice to see that at least one of the animals within the film had a heart and seen Katai as a friend. It broke my heart when she died for Katai to live.
Do I think the movie could have been a little better? Yes, but the story is there. People worked really hard to make this film happen and many believes in the story. I gave this movie an 8/10 because I rather enjoyed it. It kept me entertained and had a really great message. The character development was rich and developed appropriately for the story it is. I would be happy to see the sequel.
Smash (2012)
Fabulous Show and Cast
Despite what other's say about Katherine Mcphee's acting, I think she is absolutely fabulous in this show. I have loved her since day one and her acting is great!! Everyone in this show is amazing and they have really stepped it up. This season the have really opened up more ideas and gave us more show that sometimes was so Monroe focused. I'm so thrilled to see that ABC as stuck by Smash's side despite the ratings and have kept this show going. I tune in every Tuesday and I would not be watching ABC otherwise if it wasn't for this show since Desperate Housewives had ended. As of today I only watch Rupaul's Drag Race, Chelsea Lately, and ABC's Smash. Smash is an absolute joy and is the highlight of my week for sure!
Beautiful Creatures (2013)
Awesome Film
This movie was well directed and had very likable characters. If you are the type of person who loves a good story and see's the silver lining in everything like I do, this movie is for you. This showed that when you have a connection with someone, who cares what everyone else thinks. Love who you want to love. Casting*** AMAZING! The actors portraying the characters in the movie-- awesome! This film deserves a better rating and deserves more credit. The people who are posting about how this movie blows.. It really doesn't. Go see it for yourself and you will see that it is creative, light-hearted, passionate, soulful, entertaining, and a great story!
An Amish Murder (2013)
Great film
I actually really enjoyed this movie. Neve gave a lot of depth to the character and did extremely well. Btw.. The movie title on Lifetime is called "An Amish Murder" Its a great story and reminds me of an Ashley Judd thriller or something. Neve is great in this, because she keeps me entertained when she's just sitting there thinking on screen. She doesn't have to say anything to be interesting. And this movie takes place so close to home???? At the end when he was talking about driving back to Columbus, I was like omg.. That's where I'm at. I've been down in the Amish Country quite a few times.. Lost and wondering where I was.. Horses, buggies, tons of farms. I wonder if it was filmed there.
So anyways.. If you get a chance, watch this movie if you are a Neve Cambell or Lifetime movie fan. Its a good pick and has a happy end to the story, as to all lifetime movies. Makes the day better knowing that there was a happy ending.
Silver Linings Playbook (2012)
Best movie of 2012
Well it took me a while to get to see it because I had to drive super far to see it, because of limited release. It was worth it! The chemistry is amazing, the writing is amazing, everything is AMAZING about this movie. And the ending had a great silver lining
I was so involved with this movie that it stressed me out! With all the arguing, I found myself shaking my leg, biting my nails and felt like I was about to have a panic attack, because the actors made me feel what they was feeling.
Jennifer's performance is one fore the books and is better than her acting in the hunger games. She has really grown as an actress. The emotion in Tiffany's eyes when they was arguing in from of the movie theatre was so real. She really took it there for me. And Bradley Cooper surprised the hell out of me with his acting. I hope that they do more projects together, because they are meant to be.
