Interested, smiling & laughing does not come easy these days
16 May 2022
This caught my interest from the start. Those two kids made me smile. Then they made me laugh, which seldom happens. I knew I was in for a ride and it only got better.

Weird flick grabs the mind.
30 April 2022
This is among the weirdest movies I have ever seen. The opening scene was two guys working and talking. Banter between the protagonists or even the villains' has to be well written. These guys were trading so many cliches that this showed to be a real piece of amature work.

Then they got hit and we were off and running.

Watch it.

Just when you start to think you will have to watch the movie again to figure what was going on, Ritchie and Harrell pull it all together.

Have not laughed so hard in years
23 March 2022
Ads for this convinced me that it was a lousy movie full of cute chicks. Then I got interested by the ad campaign for the latest Iron Sky. I have to start with the first, even though it's gonna suck.

How serendipitous! Yeah, there is incongruity in the filming but it's a comedy! The humor is as deep as a Mel Brooks film. It's just a little rough, like an early Brooks. I actually stopped the film and waited until I had time to pay attention. Even so, I know that I will watch it a second time to enjoy the humor that flew by me, after I watch the latest. (Not a sequel.)

Dialogue for today
31 January 2022
Go back and watch this film. Especially the dialogue starting at about 26:30. This conversation just happened for real. What if we just leave? The answers to that question was spot on.

This the only movie I have turned off after ten minutes in years.

Possibly the worst thing Russia has ever done to us. I love sci-fi but this is utter crap. The problems which our streaming services are facing is a dearth of decent films and this is what we can expect for a while.

What a fun movie.

The whole family thing was almost a distraction to the adventure but it paid out in the end. Plus it takes you back into the adventure part!

Not credible in so many ways, like the world wide draft and cooperation and instituting a draft to go die in the future. Nevertheless, Chris Pratt makes it work, just as he made us enjoy GOTG.

Flick worth the time for us sci-fi folks,

Absolute crud

NOT science fiction. Not a thriller. Just stupid. Sci-fi has underlying lessons, while a thriller keeps us on the edge of our seats. I can't believe Wahlberg dove into this one. He was the reason I tried watching it.

Scorpion: Postcards from the Edge (2015)
Season 1, Episode 22

Season finale wraps up well.
17 September 2020
It's campy, lacks credibility, is based on a guy who was a BSer and full of too much soap opera. It is also funny and I love it for distraction.

This episode is the best treatment of all the love stories. Well done. Many of the previous episodes are clumsy but this one did very well. The challenge was to pull them back together and actually made me tear up a little bit. KId, unrequited love, old boss who screwed up...

It was just good ribbon tying.
