Terror on Tape (1985)
classic clip collection
Heres an excellent selection of all the classic gore flicks that came out on continental video back in the day, such as nightmare, vampire hookers, the deadly spawn, 2,000 maniacs, and lots more. Cameron Mitchell does a nice job as the demented video store owner who shows various customers clip of his best goodies. A very cool movie to watch on Halloween or with a group of friends, or as an opportunity to see about some of these great films that are highlighted throughout, also had an excellent strong nostalgic 'video stores of the 80's' feel, ha ha. If you are looking for the ultimate fright clip collection, look no further than terror on tape. a must. 9/10
Killer! (1989)
don't forget the forks...
This movie is great! Typical 'psycho on the loose that kills all that cross his path' flick, but I love all types like this and it manages some character development without being boring. Cheesy gore and a surprise ending too make this a must for fans of weekend night horror. Added elements like when the killer kidnaps the girl, and then fills her in on his plans to cannibalize her, while emptying a bag of forks and meat tenderizer make it all the more convincing and creepy. The only downside of this flick is that it didn't really have much of a soundtrack, which I think makes a movie, and they could of and should of made a sequel! I haven't been able to find an original copy of this yet :( but I'm still looking.
The Simple Life (2003)
(sighs and shakes head)...
God I hate this show, but what I hate even more are these two friggin stupid, self centered brats who act like they are the most important people in the world, when in reality they are no more important than the dumb rednecks that don't even know they are constantly being made fun of by them. Who in the hell cares how these two would measure up on a farm? And what's up with all these articles and photos depicting them crying? Daddy must have donated some money to a charity. Really is enough to make a normal person sick. And I can't even imagine the person who would actually pay for the DVD's of this waste of good cd. Whoever wants to experience this show, make sure to have a lobotomy first so you can understand why they are always snickering.
Three's Company (1976)
Greatest comedy show of all time
I remember watching this when I was about 4 or 5 and just loving the theme song then, but now I can really appreciate it for soooo many other things. How a guy like Jack Tripper can get into so many hilarious predicaments is beyond me, but John Ritter (RIP) pulled off the character perfectly. No one else could have taken his place. He just had so much energy and really got into it and took physical comedy to a new level, and that would make a scene even funnier than it should of been. And Larry, either landlord, Janet and any of the blondes just added to the hilarity. Can't wait till' season 3 is out on DVD. Give me three's company any day instead any of these pointless, thoughtless reality shows.
Attack of the Killer Refrigerator (1990)
I love this flick!
This has got to be thee epitome of what I consider a great horror flick! No budget, cheesy gore, lines made up on the spot, and to make it better, it was paired with an equally great semi-longer flick, the hook of woodland heights. They just DON'T make them like this any more, and probably never will! I just wish Michael Savino would of followed through on the movie Joy Ride that he mentions in the behind the scenes footage. But hearing that a full length killer fridge is in the works makes up for it! An absolute must for horror fans and people looking for some laughs and scares on a Friday night. If any of you goreheads out there haven't seen this one yet, add it to the list of things to do before you die! KILLER FRIDGE RULES!!!
Nekromantik 2 (1991)
BIZAAAAAARRE..
**SPOILERS**
Man, I can't believe I'm just now getting around to reviewing this, but anyway, this is just one bizarre film. It picks up right where the first ended, following the activities of that sick chick that dug up Rob from the first film. She takes him home and, um..Well, you guys that've seen it know and whoever hasn't can figure it out. Then she props him up and takes photos w/ him and then dismembers him after he gets too ripe. Finally, she meets a guys that's still among the living, but can't just get over IL' Rob, so that makes for a just plain sick and original ending. Those true to the core gore hounds that haven't seen this...well actually, your not a true gore hound if you haven't seen this! Also, the very end has a pretty messed up twist...
Halloween: Resurrection (2002)
Just what I expected...
**POSSIBLE SPOILERS**
Well, before it even came out, this film had all of the qualities of a pure crapfest: A stupid storyline, a rapper constantly trying to be a tough guy, annoying college kids, and a dorky looking Michael Myers. And a crapfest it was. It has everything in it that personally makes me hate a movie, and it could of been good if they would of used actors that were more convincing and not famous, and had a diff. storyline. But I guess the heyday of good horror movies is pretty much over, and the only people that would probably enjoy this are stupid teenagers that know nothing about the joy of watching real horror films. At least some of the annoying characters were killed brutally! 1/100
The Breakfast Club (1985)
GREATEST MOVIE EVER!
This'll of course sound familiar, but this truly is my favorite movie ever. What's not to like, killer characters and actors, great plot and setting, it's all there! I can't say one bad thing about it, except for the fact that the only fully unedited version is owned by writer/director John Hughes, and will more than likely never be available to the public, but I'll keep prayin' for that day to come. And also, it's too bad there was never a sequel, or better yet a prequel (showing what the day before detention was like or something). Hopefully a remake one day, but nothing ever beats an original! Or even a halfway uncut dvd release w/ lots more extras than the release out now, which is still good.
