Mystic River (2003)
Interesting movie
I'm usually a comedy person, but I actually enjoyed this movie quite a bit. This dark crime drama is about three childhood friends who are now adults, and meet again to solve the brutal murder of one's teenage daughter.
Mystic River did very well for itself at the box office and the Academy Awards. Sean Penn finally won a Best Actor award. Tim Robbins, on the other hand, won a Best Supporting Actor for this movie. Both actors gave excellent performances in this movie. Clint Eastwood did a very good job as the director. A powerful and moving movie. This is definitely worth checking out if you haven't seen it yet. I have only seen it once, but I will probably see it again someday.
Old School (2003)
Why anyone would not like this movie is beyond me
This has to be one of the funniest movies ever made. I laughed so hard during this movie. I've heard a lot of bad reviews for this movie, and I can't believe what some people have said. Apparently some copies of this movie were taped over with that godawful Jennifer Aniston debacle "Picture Perfect", because that is the only explanation that I have for the people who have said those things. Seriously, Old School has some of the funniest scenes in movie history...and I've seen a LOT of movies. Mandatory for all movie fans to see. One of the greatest movies ever created! If you haven't seen this movie yet, go get it NOW! Buy it, rent it, borrow it, steal it, whatever, just see it somehow. 10/10
EuroTrip (2004)
A masterpiece
I loved this movie. Sure, it's not the most well acted movie in the world, and it's not going to win any major awards (or come even close, for that matter). But damn, is it ever funny.
I laughed many times during this movie. I don't feel like giving the jokes away, so you'll have to see the movie for yourself if you want to see what's so funny about this movie.
I saw this movie when it was in theaters just a couple of days before it left. If I had the choice to see it again in theaters...I'd have taken the chance, I enjoyed it that much. Also, Michelle Trachtenberg is really hot, so that's another reason to see this movie (she's the red haired girl, for those who have never heard of her). I give Eurotrip a 9 out of 10. Definitely don't miss out on this comedic masterpiece, but if you're really into thinking man's movies, get off the mind expanding drugs and just try to enjoy yourself. It's just meant to be fun.
