Chorus (2015)
Very realistic with interesting events
Chorus reveals a very sad but interesting to watch story. It was very realistic movie for me. I really enjoy watching such movies. Not much dialogues, however enough drama from the actors' and actresses' eyes.. like you won't cry but you definitely feel the characters and feel sorry deep inside. You might cry but only from the inside. But I'm just speaking for myself, so I'm not sure about you all. I love Sundance movies like this one. Great acting, you can feel that they are not even acting, as if they lost their son for real. I love the tension and confusion between the "divorced" couple. My favorite scene is: when they were in the Police station watching the video tape of their son's rapist's confession. Amazing reaction from the father.. My Rating for this movie is actually 7.5 but it's not possible in IMDb. So I just gave it 7. Enjoy the movie.... au revoir!
Million Dollar Baby (2004)
THE best drama movie I've ever seen
I can't express my feeling the first time I've watched this movie. I was in the cinema and I wasn't a FAN of Eastwood back then. I just went to see it because my friend pushed me to, also there were no other good movies to watch as far as I remember. I was kinda stupid to think that all Eastwood's movies were cheesy or just stupid western or cheap action. Really, this movie changed my life in some point and made me realize many other things I've almost missed in my life (movies and more).
I was really stunned when I knew that all the narration lines (his voice) were a letter from Scrap (Morgan Freeman) to Eastwood's daughter who never read the weekly letters Frankie (Eastwood) wrote to her because she refused to forgive him for some unspecified past actions.
I love to watch every scene in the movie over and over again. Every aspect of it is amazingly done. Half of the movie is like a victory sort of happy period of every character, the 2nd half is a horrible sad story that bring a lot of tears to your eyes! I couldn't believe how the entire movie was changed. Only a few directors CAN do this. It literally moves you and controls your emotions and leave you speechless, only your tears and your open jaw can tell how you feel.
Jay Baruchel (Danger) seems to have a very small and NOT important character in the movie. After watching them movie many times, you realize that he's actually NOT. He could be someone very important, maybe he's the Million Dollar baby! I realize "this" when I studied what Scrap said (in the narration) about him, when he asked him "Anything else I can do for you? - - Just one of those questions you ask, but Danger wanted to give it his best answer".
Most of the lines in the movie were the best lines in any other movies I've ever watched BUT my favorite is "Fly there, drive back".
Thank you, Clint Eastwood. Looking forward to see more of your brilliant works.
Cheers
In a World... (2013)
One of the best "dramedy" movies I ever seen
Well, when I first decided to watch this movie, i didn't know anything about it – absolutely nothing! I didn't know Lake Bell.
10 minutes after watching, I already fell in love with it. It has a strong and spontaneous acting.
Definitely this one is one of my best of the best dramedy movies I ever seen. Hollywood, we need more films like these!
I also like the way when Bell made fun of that sexy babe's accent "I don't know where you'd get a smoothie around here at all" (not a spoiler – even included in the trailer)
I'm so glad that somebody like Lake Bell can act, direct and produce such an excellent independent movie in our days among those disappointing movies! She's so Newyorker – I like that in her too! I wish her all the best of luck in her upcoming titles! GO LAKE, GO!
I advise everybody to watch this one – if you didn't. It's a shame that it's only rated 7 out of 10 here! Although it won a best screenplay award. New kind of story, great acting, simple story but not boring - even the trailer is something!
WOW! Great job, Lake! Keep it up please! (I'll be waiting)
Girls: On All Fours (2013)
My 1st 10 out of 10 rated series episode, ever!
I've always been a Lena Dunham's works big fan.. i even saw her independent movie "Tiny Furniture". Girls season 1 was a so beautiful piece of art! I love the couple "Adam & Hanna". Season 2 is full with surprises! i love that! that's even more mature.. Thank you, Lena. This episode in particular (Ep.9) was the best Girls' episode ever. I'm not allowed to say what happens, i can't go spoil it for those who didn't watch it. I feel sorry for you, how can u not watch this episode (or the whole show) before you go to Heaven or Hell?? I really enjoyed it. The whole cast was fantastic, and not only Hanna! I love the scene related to the name "on all fours".. Adam nailed it! WOW.
(phew! this was my 1st review in IMDb.com btw)
Thanks a bunch for reading y'all...
