The Canterville Ghost (1985)
My Favorite Canterville Ghost of All!
Not all the acting is great, and the film quality is a bit fuzzy, but still my favorite version! I fell in love with the 1947 original, in black and white with Robert Young and Margaret O'Brien, when I was about ten years old (in the early 60s) land have watched all the other versions since then which were okay but this one is my favorite. My opinion is that everyone should see all versions, but my opinion is also that in the end, this is the best. Or the second best, I do still love the Robert Young version. Why can't Hollywood come up with a newer version of these movies that are as romantic as these?
If you like this, you will love The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, another black and white ghost story, with. Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison. One of the best love stories of all time.
Reunion (2020)
Total waste of Time
I stuck with it to the end because it had a great setting (a haunted house), and creepy characters that could be in any family. NOTHING was resolved in this film. What was the father doing in his creepy lab with the girls? What was deal with the fetus? The devil's child? Totally normal but her pregnant mother was having hallucinations? What was real, what was not, is never revealed.
I read one review that said that even if you thought the rest of the film was a waste of time, the last 15 minutes made it all right. Not so. P. U.
I liked the actors and the characters, but the inclusion of the father was a waste of time, he could have been covered in the plentiful flashbacks that made no sense. The handyman, I could have used more of him, but he really played a small part.
And WHAT was the deal with the missing piece of glass from the broken vase??? I mean, really! I was not only disappointed, I was insulted.
The Madame Blanc Mysteries (2021)
Just binge watched the 1st season
Can't wait for the 2nd season! I could see this going on for years! Please bring it back!
All the characters are so much fun and likable! Especially the quirky rich couple, they're hilarious.
I always gauge how good a show is by how lovable the characters are, and there are so many who I would love to know personally!
Keeping Faith (2017)
Ohhhh...myyyyy.....gawd......soooooo.....slowwwwww and pointless
Anyone who gives this more than 4 stars has to be being paid. Or related to the producer or one of the actors.
Terrible script, terrible directing (I'm not going to blames this mess on the actors although I would encourage them to leave it off their resume).
8 EPISODES, AND EACH ONE A GIANT TRAZODONE.
Sorry if I sound somewhat angry, but based on those higher and first ratings, I got sucked into wasting a lot of time.
Thirteen at Dinner (1985)
It's not even close
I was looking for 13 at Dinner, the original, and since the picture had the picture of the original Poirot, I assumed it was the original, so I paid for a movie I absolutely did not want. My fault for not looking more closely, but word to the wise if you're looking for a real Agatha Christie movie, this is NOT it.
The Exes (2011)
I Like It!
I'd give it a ten, but it's still finding it's legs. But it has the possibility of becoming a great show. The writing is superb and the acting is getting better in every episode. The cast is fun, especially the women. I'm rooting for it to succeed, I hope the network gives them enough of a chance. Kristen Johnston was great in 3rd Rock, and she's great in this. I was hoping Donald Faison would reappear in something fun, and he has. Kelly stables, as 6" Holly's 4"10' assistant is great. The other two guy characters are so far, just kind of annoying. No fault of the actors, I just think maybe that boring men are difficult characters to play without making them annoying. Overall I like the show and find myself laughing out loud. If I had one suggestion, it would be that they could use another character or two.
