Private Practice: Did You Hear What Happened to Charlotte King? (2010)
Why you should watch this episode!
Last night's episode is probably one of the best episodes on television this year. The writing and acting were just so believable. Kadee Strickland brought tears to my eyes. This episode is just incredible. Private practice is a show that is coming onto his own. I was never a big fan and I only watched it once in a while. After last night's episode, I will become a regular viewer. This show has so much humanity and reality. A situation is never just all or nothing, the writing is very subtle as both sides or many sides are presented simultaneously. There is not enough drama like Private Practice on television and that is regrettable. If you have been watching, keep watching! If not, you should start!
Knowing (2009)
This movie is a waste of time!
This movie is a lot like the titanic sinking, all along you might expect a rescue but deep down you know that the titanic will keep sinking. This movie sank worth than the titanic. I went to see it with no other motives than to get entertained and I am so disappointed that I did. The children in the movie acted well but the adults seemed out of touch. This movie has very few redeeming qualities as this movie is constructed with very thin thread. The whole idea of someone knowing the dates of all future catastrophe is catchy but the lack of connectivity between main ideas make this movie hard to follow or believe. At the end of the movie, I asked myself what was the point? Why go through almost two hours to find out that there is no point? This movie set people up with high expectations at the beginning and fails to deliver throughout until the end. The first 15 minutes of this film are the most exciting. Then it is just a series of accident until the end of the earth. Don't waste your money on this pile of garbage. If you decide to go, know that you will be waiting and nothing will come.
Lost: Exposé (2007)
Flip/Flop
Nothing is what it seems on this episode as more is revealed about Paulo and Nikki. I found it to be particularly good and well written. Many fans of the show are whining because it breaks away from the usual stars, story line and focus on two recently added actors. At the very beginning, Nikki gets shot on the set of Exposé and dies. The show is apparently a syndicated hit in Australia and the producer with whom she is having an affair proposes her to come back again for the following season. She replies: "no, I am just a guest star." Is this art imitating reality? Nikky is in fact the lover of Paulo who got hired as the private cook of the same producer. They poisoned him, stole his diamonds and ended up on the doomed flight to the island. Paulo and Nikky are young and gorgeous. They committed the perfect crime but now they are on an island and their bag is lost. They will face each other until an end that is terrifying. I was saddened by the end. I really like Kiele Sanchez and Rodrigo Santoro. This episode writes them off the show.
Revelations (2005)
Viewers might just want to see this show to be entertained!
Revelations could just be the show that viewers will watch to escape from their everyday lives. I don't believe that we should over intellectualize movies, mini-series, or television programming. I like both main actors and I believe like most suspenseful/thriller shows that it will hook its audience but will need a strong conclusion. I am generally hooked by the strong opening but also easily disappointed by lame endings. Revelations needs to prove that it can answer the questions it asks in a creative manner. There has been plenty of movies about the end of the world and of mankind as we know it, but nothing new ever seems to be brought forth. I love shows like Revelations and I seek them out, I love that "genre". I love to be terrified and the idea of the end of our civilization mixed-in with religion is thoroughly entertaining and fascinating. I will be watching and I hope not to be disappointed!
Godsend (2004)
lame movie!
I don't know what the director and writer of this movie were thinking, but they failed to create a movie worth renting. I had to go see it with a group of teenagers and one of them fell asleep. I would have too fallen asleep if unfortunately the sleeper did not snore so loud! Let me get back to the movie! Mrs. Stamos is a wonderful actress and she knows how to carry a movie by herself, no thanks to Kinnear who always act the same or DeNiro who needs acting classes (sorry to the fans!) This movie is pointless and accomplishes nothing. There is no real closure at the end and it feels overdone, i.e. "the same information is repeated over and over again short of having the actors look into the camera to explain to the viewers what is happening. This movie could have been better, if it would have been cast right and a storyline developed.
