Road House (2024)
So bad....soooo very bad!!!
The contest was supposed to be cleaning up the Road House. The characters got confused and thought it was how many times the word, "F&@K" could be uttered in their 1 minute dialogue. The acting was terrible, the lines, flat and the film overall was just a waste of time. Sometimes a remake is not necessary; especially when the first one was so good.

Ballers: The Kids Are Aight (2018)
Politics is not entertainment!
How in the world did this series take off on such a different path so fast? Omigosh, it was so fun and quick and interesting and all of a sudden....nosedive. I wish I had a quarter for all of the series I've watched and as soon as they start talking about politics and political issues, they have one season, at most, left. The writers and directors should be able to learn from each other, that nobody wants this crap rammed down their throats when they are watching something for entertainment. Evidently they think they can sway minds by inserting this garbage into an otherwise fun show. This season has been horrible so far and it's getting worse with the introduction of politics in this episode.
Buh-bye!
Madam Secretary (2014)
POLITICS IS NOT ENTERTAINING!
The show has been good, although Democrat political undertones thoughout. Then comes season 5, it loses all that made Madam Secretary interesting and turns out to be a news channel. Politics is not entertainment. The show has had a pool of character that followed each with a situation for each, a solution to the problem by the end of the hour. Recently, it has just grabbed political talking points out of the air (or off the news) and they all just ram all of this nonsense down your throat. If it's not illegal aliens, it's Russian interference, if not vaccines, it's climate change. I'm done with this show and judging from the fact this season is next to last, others got tired of politics passing for entertainment.
Succession: Which Side Are You On? (2018)
Slooooooooooooooooow!!
I read the reviews regarding this show's slow start. How slow is slow? It is still terribly slow and this is episode 6. If they took the F word out of the convo, the episodes would be very short.
BLAH!!!!!

Cruel Summer (2021)
Good but confusing time line
Good so far, but could really use a point of reference, like a flash on the screen, such as "one year earlier" or "1994" or anything to let us know where you are jumping this time. I find myself trying to tag a time on it with the computers, pagers, hair styles, etc. But it could be a lot easier. The show is promising but it sure does jump around a lot. I even watched episode 2 twice, thinking I was missing some of the groundwork being laid. It didn't really clear up anything. There is just so much dysfunction in both families, the three friends from all time segments are two white people and one black and the boys involved all seem to be muscular jocks.
Alaska Daily: Enemy of the People (2023)
POLITICS IS NOT ENTERTAINMENT!!
Up until this episode, this show was pretty good. It has a great mix of characters in the cast. In the episodes before this one, political leanings were present but whispered. Episode 7 was just pure "in your face" politics. If the writers, director, and whoever else has a say in the final cut of dialogue, was paying attention they would realize that these shows that resort to ramming politics down our throats, DON'T MAKE IT! I wish I had kept a list because it is a long one. It seems amazing that these folks don't realize that whatever their political leanings, half of America (their audience) do not agree with them....duh. That is why our political races are always so close. Is it really worth canceling the show, just to get your own political point across? Bye-bye Alaska Daily.
Casual (2015)
Politics takes out another one!
POLITICS IS NOT ENTERTAINMENT!!! That must not be as obvious to the show's mighty minions as it is to the regular old watching audiences. Hollywood cannot get over the fact that we don't have to share your personal politics to enjoy one of your series.! Just leave that stuff out of there. It does NOTHING to add to the story line. Do you think that dropping the line, "with this man just voted in, will be even have that option?" Half of the viewers don't even follow what that means whereas the other half know that you are Republican haters and too stupid to know that you need that age group that may very well be a different political persuasion than yourself. It is so easy just to LEAVE POLITICS OUT OF IT and make entertainment for everyone.
The Rookie: Feds: The Silent Prisoner (2023)
Pure Entertainment! Love it
So far, this show is pure entertainment. Each episode is a new story with the continuing character personalities forming their own story. Yes "Simone" is over the top as some reviews have state the obvious. She is supposed to be as the others are characters keeping their strict personalities. The actor, Brandon, constantly dropping hints about his fame, Carter is the pure cop/agent, no nonsense, Laura doesn't get too far away from her profiling personality and Garza remains the Boss at all times. That is what the show IS and what it is NOT, thus far, is a show trying to ram politics and current events down your throat like so many series out there. Too bad I haven't kept track of the series that have done that and are no longer on TV.
Prepare to enjoy pure entertainment with no strings attached.
Queen Sugar (2016)
Politics and current events are NOT entertainment!
Too bad I didn't keep a record of all of the series shows that failed after they started ramming politics and current events down our throats. That is just not what people want to come home and watch a little TV to wend down. We want entertainment. If we want talking heads, we turn to a news broadcast.
Hollywood can't get it through their heads that everyone who watches their programs, don't necessarily agree with their politics.....LIKE HALF OF AMERICA! Golly, when will it end. The first 4 seasons were good, season 5, so-so, and season 6 has been unwatchable, which is why I'm leaving a rating and moving on. There is just too much good TV to waste time on being preached to. Oprah has been out of touch for a long time which is why there is a whole generation who doesn't even know who she is. Shame, shame.
Roswell, New Mexico (2019)
POLITICS IS NOT ENTERTAINING!
Political and PC innuendos, do NOTHING to enhance a series like this. Leave that to the political series, of which there are plenty. Each time, I get to review a title that has ruined itself by inserting these unnecessary pieces in them, POOF, they have already disappeared ......another failed series. Do these young, immature writers not understand their audiences? Or do they not see that series before theirs have failed because of this? Eventually this will sink in and writers will understand that their viewers are their customers and the customers are not buying what they are selling. The original is a lot more entertaining than this one because back then, writers knew that such things were gauche.
Southern Charm: Monumental Challenge (2020)
Politics is not entertaining/entertainment!
So many series lately, have felt it was their job to ram social issues down our throats, rather than entertain. Most of them have not made it past one season afterwards. Know your audience! These millennials on Southern Charm are really into these screwed up scripts about these screwed up issues, but the people watching are not. We want the screwed up scripts about the parties, shopping, wild ways and who is doing who.
Charleston is an old town with lots of old history. Anybody who has family roots there, has family history of owning slaves. That is the fact of the South. That is the history. Nobody can change the past; it's not possible. Changing history books and taking down monuments does not change facts. Blaming 5 generations later is just stupid.
New Amsterdam: Why Not Yesterday (2021)
Politics in entertainment is not entertaining!!!
The series has been preachy for a while now but this is over the top. How many social issues can a writer cram into 43 minutes.....gosh, let me count them. Max is mirroring the insane ways of NOT making a difference. If you tear down monuments or take pictures off of the wall, it still doesn't change history. Teach it, show the kids the pictures and monuments and use it as a teaching tool. By doing anything else, it's about making you feel better, not about making the world better.
I care about social issues but that is not what I want to see in my entertainment. My prediction - the series will go the way of the others that have used their great entertainment as an avenue to preach social justice. If something doesn't change, this series is on its last leg.
Billions: Cannonade (2022)
Axe was the show! ruthless, the opposite of woke-ism. the leader
We all knew that Axe was pulling everybody's strings and all of a sudden, the puppet master has put down his string board. The north star has left the building and nobody knows what to do to pull off a good show. It should have ended and gone out on top.
Episode 6-2 was pathetic with Chuck Rhoades screeching at a group of people. Oh, please! Bye.
The Son (2017)
I would love to love this series -there is nothing to love
As soon as I start getting attached to the story, someone just changes the theme. It had all of the makings of a great, western, family drama series. The inconsistency of a single episode is mind blowing. The jump from the Indian era to present time, throw in all of the language that necessitates subtitles is truly hard to follow. The acting is stilted and Pierce saves the day. The Son had all of what it takes to be an outstanding story but it needed help it didn't get. Not a total waste of time but doesn't leave you yearning for more, either.
The Cleaning Lady (2022)
Liza Weil could bring down any series...FBI leg was weak
The series started out boring but did improve. The FBI leg of this series was weak and unrealistic. Liza Weil always brings a monotone, boring, unbelievable character and in this case, played against a screw-up, unprofessional, sloppy agent. Oliver Hudson was the opposite of the button-upped, realistic FBI agents.
Overall, the story was good and the theme was believable and watchable.
There is all of this and more in our society today.
Station 19: Here It Comes Again (2021)
Save politics for the nightly news!
Even Shonda Rhimes understands that filling an episode full of controversial topics dates the series, at best, and will be so off-putting that their viewers will be dropping off in droves. I'll bet there is not a single viewer who watches Station 19 for the information that the show drills in episode after episode.....wear that mask! Police hate brown people! History is wrong!
THIS IS ENTERTAINMENT!! Leave the preaching and politics to those who do it better than Ms. Rhimes. She does a mean series if she could get to know her audience and imagine why they are watching.....it's not for the constant reminders of the unjust world in which we live. Nobody watches Station 19 for their nightly news!
Station 19: Out of Control (2020)
Unbelievable!
A totally political and unbelievable episode; the same subject matter that is destroying good series shows. With 50 witnesses, body cams and the changes that have taken place in the past 20 years with police force and firefighters, it is a bit too exaggerated to believe. Keep this up and this great series will go the way of so many others.
All Rise: A Change Is Gonna Come (2020)
Politics is NOT entertainment....beginning of the end
So many series have gone by the wayside because their writers/directors think that people watch feel-good series to get fed a bunch of political BS. We get enough of that on TV, FB, Twitter, etc. When we settle down for a few episodes of entertainment, the LAST thing we want is politics being rammed down our throats. I wish I had started keeping track of the shows that met with their demise simply because they had no idea who their audience was and what they considered entertainment.
Oh well, good while it lasted.
Goliath: Diablo Verde (2018)
What?? Why?? Episode was a s#it show and useless!
Season 1 was so good. Season 2, like so many series, went downhill fast. There is absolutely no reason to continue watching. There are so many great shows to stream, to waste time on garbage. What happens in the minds of these writers/directors? They have a great show so they change everything about it to make it horrible.
Manifest: Mayday: Part 2 (2021)
GRAMMAR, please!
While binge-watching, grammatical errors made my skin crawl. Young actors, who appeal to our young people, be it in music, movies or TV, make it that much worse, because if people hear an actor say it, it must be correct, huh? Not!! At about 15:29, Olive says, "Cal must've ran out of paper." Does the director think it is correct? We all know that it should be, "Cal must have run out of paper." Maybe nobody on the entire set knows that it is incorrect. Correct English and grammar is so easy to catch and correct. Why would they show their ignorance by allowing it? Welcome to the generation who just doesn't care.
Designated Survivor (2016)
Controversial politics does not make for good entertainment
The two stars are for decent seasons one and two. Season 3 was terrible. It took 10 episodes to run a re-election campaign with emphasis on every controversial topic out there with a far-left leaning on story lines. This has happened to so many series but for some reason, the brass doesn't consider its audience. Everybody who watches TV series to have controversial politics rammed down their throat, please raise your hands!! Oh, they did...........that is why the series ended with 10 episodes and was not renewed.
Oh well, next!
Outer Banks: Parcel 9 (2020)
OOPS
Don't you just love watching things on Prime video when they flash up on the screen, "Goofs" and let you know important things that the writers/directors were too stoooopid to catch? They would have had a field day with this series and this episode.
Okay, so "Hollis notices her mother going into the parlor with plastic bags, but then when she goes to use the outhouse, she sees her father's head." A little bit of history.....when people were still using outhouses, they had never heard of plastic bags.
Baby sea turtles do not make it to the ocean in the light of day, as Kie describes doing with "the queen" Sarah Cameron.
Outer Banks: Midsummers (2020)
GOOFS AFTER GOOFS AFTER GOOFS
If you are not going to put the finials on the four-poster bedposts, don't show them!! Do you think that your audience consists of idiots or just blind people?? Some people make money in spite of themselves....you're killing us!
Outer Banks (2020)
OUTER BANKS, NC HAS NO PALM TREES!!!!
Name it something else but if you're going to name it Outer Banks and refer to it as Outer Banks, NC, the least you can do is make it believable. Unbelievable also, is 25 year old's playing the part of teens. The story is actually okay so far which is why I'm still watching. From the other reviews, that's gonna change with season 2. Oh well, there is a lot to watch out there.
Still shaking my head at palm trees on the east coast beach. Who plans this stuff??
Grey's Anatomy (2005)
AFTER 16 GREAT SEASONS, I'M DONE!! POLITICS, POLITIC, POLITICS!
Great series shows are my entertainment. When the show tries to ram politics down my throat, I can move on to something entertaining. In the past several years, I've watched show after show fail, once they start trying to make a political statement....just look at the awards' shows! Grey's Anatomy has had a great run but they should have left the news to the news shows.
Bye-bye gang. I'll miss you.
