Oh no not The Wicker Man!
7 May 2013
Upon my unfortunate viewing of this abomination known as "The Wicker Man," It had been foretold, at least in my perspective, that this was a film of great unintentional humor; the kind of film that one partakes in laughing their jolly mouths off at the utter ridiculousness of the movie. However after seeing this trash known as "The Wicker Man" I recall my reaction to the film to be most horrified. This wretchedness might be the worst film I have ever seen in my life, and I shall tell you why.Firstly the writing in this flick is some of the most pointless and appalling dialogue I ever heard. There are many examples of useless dialogue exchanged from character to character, and yet it never is related to the story material at hand. Plus, along with the dialogue, there are multiple scenes in the film that NEVER serve any purpose to the story whatsoever. For instance at the beginning while Cage is patrolling on his motorcycle, he retrieves a doll to a family who is moving out of state. While he carries on to return the doll, a big rig literally drives through the car where the family is parked and kills them, just like that, and yet there is no mentioning of the incident again! Now you could make the argument that the wreck later haunted his dreams throughout the film, but why did it have to be a wreck, and couldn't his fear for his missing daughter be a better nightmare fuel? To say that there is a great immense of under acting in his role is an understatement. Nicolas Cage is CLEARLY winging this thing like its a huge pile of nothing (can't blame him.) Plus it does not help that his character has, well, NO CHARACTER! In fact every role in this film is under developed and under acted, which leads to a band of misfits that you care less about than a Facebook update about your sister's "girls night out." But most importantly the film is the very definition of jumbled. It seems like the film is trying to portray it's story, but it chooses pointless and out-of-context scenes to do so. The entire structure is deeply flawed. In conclusion, The Wicker Man is a dreadfully disarranged film of a story that takes us nowhere, acting that makes the mortuary service at Ben Stein's funeral look exciting, and a terribly misguided directorial job that could not simply handle the material at hand. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! See Full Review at theoguyproductions at BlogSpot

The Greatness... ...The Greatness
18 August 2012
Apocalypse now is Francis Ford Coppola's epic masterpiece, set in the ultimate heart of darkness: Vietnam. What makes Apocalypse now so great and different from other war films, is that it's not really a war film since his focus is more on the sanity of mankind and the darkness in our minds, in other words our human emotions when we are surrounded by so much destruction in the war. it's amazing how one film can capture the many emotions of great and interesting characters all in two hours and 20 min. the story is when Capt. Willard receives a classified mission to terminate Col. Kurtz, he must run a patrol boat down one of the rivers of Vietnam to to terminate all illegal missions that Col. Kurtz has assigned. Along the way, he doubts whether or not his sanity, let alone Col. Kurtz's, is secure in the setting of the Vietnam War. the film is the adoption of Joseph Conrad's famous book "the heart of darkness." His novel adaption is translated into the setting of the Vietnam War, which is a clever idea by itself. Also, we have so many characters that are interesting and want to know more about. My personal favorite character from the film is Kilgore, because he is not stereotypical as a general and has so many interesting qualities to him which makes you want to learn more and more about him. All the other characters are great too! Martin Sheen as Capt. Willard was the most emotional and psychological of the characters in the movie which really makes us interested in the storyline as well. He tells the story through mostly narration, probably looking back on his experiences in the Vietnam War. Marlon Brando an exceptional job as Col. Kurtz, because he made him seem so evil and totally insane at the same time. there are also very many other aspects of the film that makes it so great, the cinematography is incredible, the dialogue is clever, and the adventures are irresistible. Since I don't want any spoilers in this review, I will not tell you the ending, but I will say that the ending of Apocalypse now is one of the greatest endings in film history, and when you see the ending you'll realize how powerful and emotional the ending really is.

Overall, Apocalypse now is one of the greatest films ever made, deathly worth the watch. And by the way, the doors song "The End" is used absolutely perfectly the movie.

One of the most underrated, and best movies I've ever seen!
16 July 2012
This, my friends, is one of my favorite movies of all time. This is the type of film that you do not hear from many critics or many best movies list, but this is one of those films that is vastly underrated and is incredibly worthy to be considered one of the best. The story is a great adaption of Ruddy R Kipling's short story of the same name, and the main plot of the film flows fantastically throughout the spectacular cinematography, landscape, and musical score. Considering that this film is from one of Hollywood's top directors, John Hutson, you might not believe that this film has all the glory, and amazement to have the consideration to be among Hutson's other masterpieces, like the African Queen, but the film amazes with having the key elements of adventure and moral value that any great film should have. Seeing Sean Connery and Michael Caine playing two veteran British soldiers, that have become friends over the past several years is truly astonishing. These characters are not that strong on their own, but when they're together they seem like they were made for each other, and the other acting performances in the film are equally impressive, especially Christopher Plummer playing Rudyard Kipling himself. What the man who would be King does most effectively though, is that it really has a great element of moral value in it. Themes like perseverance, cleverness, loyalty, trust, and most importantly friendship, are all themes that are displayed incredibly well in this movie. This is a film for the ages, and I hope in the future that it will get more and more recognition from critics, filmmakers, and audiences alike.

10 out of 10 stars, or five out of five stars A truly moving and incredible adventure for everyone to see.

Led Zeppelin (2003 Video)
Led Zeppelin to the max
19 August 2011
This DVD is a great one, it has footage to some of the most memorable and famous Led Zeppelin moments in their history.

Starting on disc one is the 1970 Royal Albert hall concert, one of Zeppelin's best. It features songs ranging from the trippy "Dazed and Confused" to arguably the greatest drum solo of all time, 21 year old John Bonham's performance of "Moby Dick" On Disc Two, there is more footage from different concerts from the band, from the stadium performance of"Immigrant Song" to The Group's last performance on stage: "Whole Lotta Love" Honestly, I am a Huge Led Zeppelin fan, and as a Led Zeppelin fan, I think this is one of the best Concert movies ever.

There is SO much to see on this DVD, you could not finish it in one night! Led Zeppelin fans will go crazy on this DVD, Especially the footage of The Royal Albert hall.

This is one of my Favorites, Ten out of Ten!

Very Weird but Funny
19 August 2011
OK, If you want to see this film, you are going to have to go to YouTube, or somewhere where it is available.

This, Like most of J. G. Quintel's work, is very strange, but always has legitimate humor. It has laughs throughout, and although it has a dry sense of humor, it never dies down.

This is not for kids, They say the F word seven times, and the s word two times. Also, the whole story is about tripping out on Acid.

The animation is not that good, but, this is a film where very little people worked on, plus, it only had a budget of 500 bucks.

If this were part of a TV-MA show, i would expect people to like it. The slow and dry humor only makes it funnier because of the situation that the characters are in.

Well I liked it, What do you think?
