The Book of Clarence (2023)
Blown away
Definitely wasn't expecting what I got out of this. I was given comedy, action, truth, fiction and redemption in one serving. Not many directors are bold enough to take this jump, let alone with a predominantly black cast. This movie also has everything to piss off closed minded folks. It touches on religion and that may ruffle feathers. The celebrated black cast. Jay z is listed as an executive producer and for some reason "they" hate that man. This movie can't be denied though. Costumes should win an award. LeKeith lead with ease around such other good actors and deserves an award. The soundtrack was a gift throughout. You can watch this alone, with your parents, with your kids or with a respected leader and that says a lot. Give it a watch and enjoy the craft. Its great.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)
Here we go again.
(Spoilers below) We get it Hollywood. Woman are strong. Why you chose to over power and make these characters with this " I don't need help attitude " whole movie about how she doesn't need him even though she went to him for help and she lets you know shes smarter and stronger then only man jones. This REALLY didn't need to be made. Harrison Ford was great but main supporting cast was lacking in the cracking. Aside from annoying forced female lead Indiana Jones was fun. Had all the excitement of the previous movies. Very good set shots.
All and all it's good. Watch it and have fun. Look past the annoying characters.
They Cloned Tyrone (2023)
Full speed
Wow. I'm blown away at how good and unexpected this was. Incredible performances. Photon was on point. She delivered. I was floored. Jamie Fox was breathtaking and boy of boy John stole the show. This guy's acting chops are top tier. He has to be the next "IT" guy in Hollywood because his performances are extremely good. Nice progression, build up, turns and surprises to keep things going and keep you locked in. I don't understand how this is rated so low. This is a great movie with a great script and blow away cast. I'll give it a 10 and stand by that full force. This could have easily gone to theatres but the fact that it was straight to Netflix makes it even more special.
The Princess (2022)
Action and royalty
This movie had everything and so much more. Slight comedy. Heavy action. Good acting. I can't think of why it has any bad ratings. I guess to each his own. The only thing is...... the movie was really good and adorable. I think the R rating is going a little far. Pg13 would have been enough. If you're looking for a good movie with some decent rewatch potential I definitely say give this a go. Nothing to racy for the children also. I would let my 10 year old daughter watch this.
Flora & Ulysses (2021)
Good fun.
This movie was amazing. It had everything a good superhero movie needs. Didn't see such a good time coming. The quality of the CGI was above average. The acting was classic and stand out performances all around. You can watch it with the family but also definitely good enough to just watch alone as a adult. Adorable, action packed laughs. So worth a rewatch.
Shazam! (2019)
More then what I expected.
Its DC so I watched not expecting much. Then along with my kid we got sucked into this wild ride of excitement. Fun fast and a whole lot of good laughs and smiles. Definitely a family move. Not a kids movie but marketed for kids and enjoyable by everyone. I'd watch it again. I haven't said that about a movie from this franchise in so long. But credit is due. I won't spoil anything but you will love this movie. Even with the horrible CGI that make an appearance this is still one of the best superhero films out.
Mute (2018)
Naw.
Someone takes 10 minutes to die. Its multiple story lines that get jumbled together. How did they get Paul Rudd for this. It's a decent cast. Great idea. Just poorly executed. It was that movie directors see in director school as a example of what never to do. Some shocking moments and you can sit through it all. At the end you'll just find yourself asking why? How?
Now You See Me (2013)
Fast paced modern magic excitement..
This movie started off good and stayed that way. Right from the jump you're thrown into a instant mesmerizing view of excitement. After that I felt like I was flipped straight into a coliseum of amazing special effects ( or at this point I can't say it wasn't * pause for dramatic affect * MAGIC - picture me doing wavy magic fingers, OK stop picturing me doing that I'm done now ) Mind blowing action that I did not expect from this genre of movie mixed with a storyline and plot that kept me wide eyed and interested every step of the way. All the actors did an incredible job. No one was out shined. Every line was delivered excellent and was Believable. This is easily a movie I can watch multiple times with the same excitement as the first. I won't spoil anything for you except the fact that this movie was money well spent. I left happy and I'm still excited to talk about it
