Breaking Bad (2008)
Watch This Show, Trust Me.
This show is amazing. There are some minor plot flaws but overall this show is amazing. The characters Walter White (Bryan Cranston), Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito), and Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) were phenomenally cast. The acting, writing, plot, pace, camera, editing, were excellent. You feel like you're in the movie. You need to watch this on a big tv screen.
Vince Gill was a writer for X-Files, my other favorite show. This show had to be good too and it is. This show is gripping and will have you hooked. If my eyes didn't bleed out of its' sockets, I'm sure I could marathon this entire show.
El Camino and Better Call Saul are also good. Better Call Saul comes before Breaking Bad and El Camino comes after. Watch everything haha, BUT DEFINITELY WATCH BREAKING BAD!
The Vampire Diaries (2009)
One of the Best Shows I've Seen
I watch anything vampire or werewolf. Seasons 1-4 was awesome. Seasons 5-8 is whatever. Nina Dobrev leaving the show really screwed things up. She was one of my favorite characters along with the Brothers. They did not prepare an ending for this show so it just kept dragging on till kingdom come with a lot of boring plots like the Sirens and the Travelors, etc. The Travelors almost put me to sleep. I also don't think Julie Plec has the magic that Kevin Williamson had; unfortunately, he left the show and Plec took over. Elena (Nina Dobrev) should've returned back to Stephan (Paul Wesley) but that couldn't happen anymore since Nina left. I think this show should've been six seasons instead of eight. Caroline's pairing with Stephan was god awful. Like i said, Seasons 1-4 was fantastic, and 5-8 was whatever.
The Originals in this show were fantastic. Joseph Morgan's acting is out of this world. He plays Niclaus Mikaelson.
I would've liked to see more dimension to Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham) then just constantly saving the day. She is a beautiful actress and very talented singer. I would've liked to have seen her ship with Damon (Ian Somerhalder) at one point.
I thought the finale was lackluster but Seasons 1-4 is some of the best TV I have seen. They chose the cast very well. I would reccomend this show.
Steve Jobs (2015)
Yikes, Industry and Family Bickering For Two Hours in the Same Location
This movie had a lot of potential but it fell flat. It's just industry professionals and family members arguing, complaining, and bickering for two hours. You'll feel like you're watching Maury Povich, Jerry Springer, or a counseling session. I knew something bad was up when they spent the first solid 30 minutes of the film with Steve Jobs arguing and yelling at people for wanting the Mac computer to say "hello." This laid the premise for the entire movie. Steve Wozniak is either standing or sitting in an auditorium arguing. There is basically one set location for the entire movie.
I've seen Molly's Game and The Social Network; they were both good. Unfortunately Steve Jobs (2015) is not good. It took me nearly eight hours to watch because it was so boring. I'm someone who watches a ton of movies and shows so i know what's up. I also never believe in hype.
Watch this movie if you want to prove me right, otherwise, trust me, there's much better ways to spend your time.
AWOL-72 (2015)
Good watch
I watched this today. I liked it, Luke Goss is a great actor, he has that Clint Eastwood look and vibe to him. The action and martial arts shots were great. The movie carried along, i like this movie and I would recommend it. The supporting actors were good too. The soundtrack is good too. The song is called "Stop Playing" by KC Bandz. I am not always a commercial blockbuster type of person when it comes to movies, shows, and music. I think this Soundtrack and Movie is a hidden gem. I've added this song to my playlist from finding it through this movie. I like Blockbusters as well as Independent and non commercial films and music.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
Episode VII: Darth Vader and Yoda roll over in their graves: The Rooster Awakens
****SPOILER ALERT******* ********SPOILER ALERT********** *********SPOILER ALERT********
This surely has been a great disturbance in the force. George Lucas sold to Disney for the money, although 4 bil does seem a bit low. They sold Pixar for 7 bil. He wanted the Star Wars legacy and his companies to live on. Too bad he didn't have a family of heirs to keep running the company and who has as much magic as he did. But for Star Wars and his companies to keep profiting big time in the long run, part of that would be to keep making good movies. Outside of the core Star Wars Trilogy, and Indiana Jones, the rest of the movies are garbage; sorry Lucas. You know that too.
His companies, Lucasfilm and ILM are the masters of computer animation and special effects but he took all that potential and turned Episodes I-III to CGI on crack. The core trilogy was better without all that crazy CGI. I watched Episode VII right after the Trilogy. The Trilogy was CLASSIC. None of the other Star Wars films will ever compare. Episode VII had more of an X-Men type of feel: good, but forgettable. I love X-Men btw. I was excited to know that Lawrence Kasdan wrote Episode VII, since he also wrote Episode V and VI; well I agree w/ a lot of folks that Episode VII is Episode IV rehashed lol; THANKS TO Disney!! When I was watching Episode VII, I was like WTF? important data stored in a droid again? another Death Star destruction? another Tattooine? Girl doesn't have family, oh the list goes on, and I do agree w/ a lot of the critics out there. Well, we let George write the prequel, look what happened there... They had fckn 500 books and all they basically did was pump out Episode IV all over again, hahaha. Like someone else said, Darth Vader and Yoda must be rolling over in their graves. Episode VII catered to the typical movie audience, it definitely did not cater to the Star Wars Universe. I agree w/ a lot of the other critics that nothing made Star Wars sense in Episode VII. As someone else said a lot of "coincidences" happened. Han and Chewie just happened to come across the Millennium Falcon, Rey just happens to know how to pilot and fix the Falcon that Han has been piloting for 30 years. Rey, without any force training defeats a Sith, (who looks like Keanu Reeves mashed w/ Marilyn Manson btw), knows how to use Jedi Mind tricks, ETC, ETC. JJ Abrams didn't give a shet about the Star Wars universe, he only catered to movie audiences. Oh gawd, and the way they killed Han Solo, ohmahgawd, that was a Travesty!! They dumped one of the most iconic stars of Star Wars down the shoot like he was junkyard parts!! But as someone else has said, I'm sure Harrison Ford was happy with that since he wanted his character to die back in Episode V. In addition, the overt displays of Natzi Fascist overtones was overdone and became cheesy.
As I've said before, and I'll say it again, NOTHING in other Star Wars films will ever compare to the Original Trilogy. The story, the plot, the character development, the lines, the iconic figures, the motivation, the musical score, and on top of all that, it made Star Wars sense. The original trilogy is truly a classic. I never write reviews, but I was compelled to write this one. I'll go back to reading the Star Wars books and watching the Trilogy over and over again, hahaha.
Oh, and btw, I'm pretty damn sure Rey is Luke's daughter; I don't think she is Kylo Ren's sister. Even though I know the books said that Han and Leia had twins. May the Force be with future Star Wars movies, hahaha.
Clash of the Titans (2010)
I kept wondering if I was in the right theatre bc it didn't look 3D at all
Yea I double checked w the attendant bc I thought I was in the 2D theatre. Lol. I kept taking my 3D glasses on and off thinking where the f is this 3D they're talking about. I kept making sure other people were wearing their 3D glasses too. Lol. At some points I seriously thought I was a fool sitting in the wrong theatre wearing 3D glasses lol thats when I kept looking at everyone else making sure they were wearing their glasses too. At times I took the glasses off and: a) the picture quality looked better, and b) there was no change to the picture lol. If u wanna pay 5$ extra dollars to see rocks in 3D, crap, just go in your backyard and look for some rocks.
And what the hell is with these actors having Australian and different British accents across the board. My god the story plot character and dialogue crap I thought a kindergartner made this crap movie. Y'all who voted high on this movie give me whatever it is you're smoking
The Girlfriend Experience (2009)
Stab me w a dildo this crap is god awful
My god the most boringest crap what a waste of money and time. I can make a better film then this lame piece of crap. The acting is atrocious, and so is the story and script. No depth whatsoever. I think all these people were on crack when they decided to make this film. Oh man. I'm jumping off a cliff now this movie was so bad. This girl can't act she should just stick to licking toilets since that's what she does best. It's the same stone cold dead fish expression and tone of her voice throughout. I'm sure Sasha gave soderbergh a little crack and something something and he said I got all this time and this hooker what to do now let's make a movie that bores the living daylights out of people and pretend that's it really deep. It's as deep as sashas throat.
Watchmen (2009)
This Movie Is Not Really Good; and I Hardly Review Movies
The okay parts of the movie was the environment, some special effects, a little bit of the aura of the characters, the movie was a little okay.
But holy mother it was so boring. Two groups of people in the theatre flat out walked out during the movie, and my friend and I tried to stay awake. I agreed with another reviewer how 1/2 an hour of the movie just consisted of the same flashbacks over and over. The plot, sense, and dialogue of the movie was just kind of blah. Most acting was blah. The OK/good acting was the blue guy and Rorshak (spelling.) Movie sometimes appears to be a big corny mess. Makeup is pretty bad, especially on Nixon, their fake wigs, etc. Song selection for the movie was sometimes off. Another corny thing is how Laurie/Spectre has sex in her thigh high spiky heel hooker boots hehe. The sex scenes weren't that great. This movie is a clutter mess. :o( I like other Superhero movies: Batman, X-Men, Spiderman, V for Vendetta, etc; just not this one. What a bore. Don't believe the hype. But it might be good to just watch once just to see for yourself. I'm calling the movie theatre now to get credit for my tickets. :o( I was gonna give it 3 but I gave it 4 for the effort and some scenes etc.
im changing this to 1 star bc i think 8 stars is way too high for this movie!!
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005)
This Movie Kicks Some Serious Ass!!!
This movie kicks some serious ass!! Take everyone to see this movie!! Trust me, you'll love it!! A dozen of us went to see it, everyone loved it!! Even the people who originally didn't want to see it loved it. Go see it!!
The special effects kicks ass. This is one of my favorite movies. The characters are great. I liked this movie better than Lord of the Rings. I liked how the witch's different costumes change through out the seasons. I liked how her crown is high in the winter and is short in the summer.
This movie is really good, good plot, characters, good eye candy, script, it moves you emotionally, etc. go see it.
Kicking & Screaming (2005)
This Movie Is So Cute And Funny
I don't understand why it's rating isn't at least 6-9, this movie is so cute and funny. I liked the part where all the kids dance to the mackarena. That was the best. Will Ferrell is so funny. IMDb fans need to get with the program, this movie is so much better than IMDb says it is. I was laughing and having fun the whole way through the movie. The only part I didn't care for was the butcher/meat/blood part. Otherwise, everything else was fantastic. I love soccer movies. The little Asian kid with the glasses is so cute and funny, and he can dance real well, if you watch the extra clips. This is a great movie for everyone to see, trust me.
The Polar Express (2004)
Good and Bad at the Same Time
I don't have a lot of reviews but I'll review this movie. I can see why audiences like and don't like this movie. I like this movie because I saw it in 3D and I like a lot of the scenery. Also, the boy believing in the end was kinda nice. I read this book about 25 years ago or so, and remember that I liked it. I can see kids liking this movie in general, regardless. But things I didn't like about this movie: 1. Most characters were flat, aside from the conductor. They didn't have a lot of uniqueness to them, and there was not a lot of character development. There was not a lot of strong character dynamics going on. And the annoying blond boy w/ the glasses, was just so over the top, he overwhelmed the main characters. A lot of the characters were creepy, like the quiet boy and the black girl. But animation is very difficult, so I can overlook some aspects of the way the characters creepily move. But even besides their movement, they were still creepy, like that quiet boy. 2. The movie had a cheeseball effect to it, like how the quiet boy and the black girl are singing that cheeseball song outside of the train, while they're looking into the night sky. I also thought Aerosmith singing in the end was out of place w/ the whole movie, and was the cheesiest of cheeseballs. 3. The elves were creepy and seemed mean. If I would have made this movie, I would have made the elves cute, jolly, and spiritedly. And I would have had one special elf pop out from the crowd that is memorable. 4. The whole movie is this journey to the north pole, but when they get there, the place is all empty and desolate, that is creepy and depressing. I would have made the place "happening," w/ elves walking around, doing things, etc. 5. There are too many superfluous things about the movie, like the lost ticket, the homeless guy having coffee w/ the kid. Just things like that to stretch the movie out. But I understand this was good for 3-D reasons. 6. The movie was often creepy, like when the main character the little brown haired boy was trapped in that dark room full of puppets. 7. tom hanks playing 6 characters didn't work for me. 8. I wish santa was better looking and more jolly looking and nice looking. Well, if I made the movie I wouldn't have made it creepy, and I would have done more character development, and involvement, and get more of a plot going, and lose all the superfluous stuff, or not spend so much time on it, but still be able to get a good 3d effect. I would have made the friendships more meaningful and special, like the kids in the movie, stand by me, or something. I would have done anything to this movie to make it a good movie, whether it agreed w/ the book or not. sometimes i don't think you can literally translate a book to a movie, you can easily end up w/ a bad movie. i would definitely have not given it the cheeseball effect w/ aerosmith. well things are easier said than done, but that's what i would have done. regardless i was glad i saw this movie, and like i said, i loved the 3/d and the scenery. if u wanna see good plot, character development, script, and animation, go see the incredibles.
Lola rennt (1998)
You Should Watch Lola Run
Lola Runs fast to some good music. You should watch the movie. She's got spritely red hair, & she's trying to save her thug boyfriend or else he will go to heaven. Fast paced, not boring, good music, different variation of plot, nice lil script & stories, *alot* of 'accidents' happening. Anyway, just go watch it. You dont need to understand German, because there are subtitles.
Fargo (1996)
Very Very Good
Fargo, I have to admit, is a very, very good movie. Excellent script, excellent characters, excellent acting, very good story. Simple review huh? Fargo's got a different quality to it. It's not your Terminator, Titanic, Basic Instinct, or typical, cliched, Hollywood movies. Go watch it!
Autumn in New York (2000)
Watch Ghost Instead
Aumtumn in New York is so boring, I turned off the movie midway in order to watch tv! Yes, it's that boring and predictable. Please watch Ghost instead. Ghost is a much better romance movie, the chemistry between Demi Moore & Patrick Swayze is much more believable, and Ghost takes place in New York as well! Another commenter said Richard Gere keeps looking at the camera like he is a teenage heart throb, hahaha, & yes, I must agree with that. It is very hard for me to believe the chemistry between Richard Gere and Winona Ryder, not that there's anything wrong with age difference couples, but the chemistry between Gere & Ryder is not there, & not to mention, it doesn't help when he looks like her grandpa you know? The plus I have to give Autumn in New York is the beautiful scenery, but that certainly isn't enough to keep me watching a movie. Again, please go watch Ghost instead. You'll thank yourself!
Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde (2003)
Cute & Sassy
I liked this movie. I thought it was cute & sassy. Although I thought the first movie was funnier. This movie is still good, and it's not too long. It has a good cause: animal rights. Reese is perfect for the role. She is cute lil' actress.
Hulk (2003)
Only the Last Half Was Good
Oh the first half was so slow and boring. i can see why they did it, to build up the movie. But i notice any intro movie is boring: ie: XMen 1, The Hulk, etc. Just get to it! There wasn't a lot of depth to the characters. Some of the action scenes were good. The hulk looks like he's made of green rubber. Hee hee hee.
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)
Okay, Boring, Slow, Sometimes Good
-Okay, Boring, Slow, Sometimes Good. -Special effects good, some good action scenes. -Starts off VERY slow, boring. -No character development. Johnny Depp's character seems to "overdo it." -The movie is more about events, and it forgets to infuse human element and character into it. -Okay/a little better than average for a summer movie. -The sets, costumes, and special effects were better than the movie itself.
