Intelligence (2014)
Shouldn't have gotten canceled
At first, I had doubts about this show. I felt..."oh great, another chuck, another super hero where he will never die and will always win".
But I watched the show because I had nothing to do, and I always loved Josh Holloway in "Lost".
I watched all 13 episodes in one day and I thought the show to be great. It had depth, it had emotions, it had drama, it had action. Everything you would wish to be in a action thriller sci-fi TV show and more.
You start to feel and get into the characters after the 1st episode. You root for the relationship between the characters, you get a sense that this scenario is real in the world. It personally drew me into the show after the pilot, and everything that happened was very memorable. The show also gives the audience an idea of how our government works and how they cover certain incidents, it is not "House of Cards" but it gives an idea of the power struggle and the power hungry people within the services.
I really don't understand the cancellation of the show though, I understand that people didn't like it very much, giving it a 2/5 rating. But the show actually had depth! It worked great with the other show "Person of Interest" on the same network, it had similar ideas, similar openings, similar cast via Lost. It was just a great show overall and I suggest if you were second guessing to watch it or not. Please do and give it a chance, this is more than just the normal action show/movie. It puts thoughts in your mind into what and how our future would be with our involvement into robotics.
The Switch (2010)
Comedy with heart.
When I first saw the movie poster and trailer of this movie back in 2010, I thought..."Oh great, another Anniston movie... Going to be some heart warming flick with dumb jokes..." Then a few nights ago I was browsing around and saw this again, decided to watch it because Bateman is good actor. Needless to say, this movie was much better than expected!
I have always failed to see comedy in movies that show dumb things, aka Adam Sandler movies, etc. So seeing this film and the humor it included was great, though if you are expecting to laugh your ass off in this film, you won't, but its got light humor to make you smile meanwhile you start to enjoy the characters. Bateman was great, the kid was great, the story was not really focused on Anniston but she played her role well. Also this movie was not a hardcore chick flick, where everything was over the top romantic, rather you get to feel those emotions through the characters instead of them overstating everything. It displayed what men and women go through at that age of their lives (mid 30s to late 30s), and I feel they did a great job with it.
If you are looking for a film that will make you smile while touching your heart, I would definitely recommend this film.
