The Sweetest Thing (2002)
Great movie for a girl to watch with her girlfriends.
Alright, after reading most of the comments made about this movie, it really irked me to see that about 80% of the commentators thought it was a crap movie (remind me to cross-check that number with the number of commentators who were men, please). I'll be the first to admit that this is a "chick flick" and, sure, the plot may be a bit predictable and cliched, but it is one of the most hilarious movies I've seen in a long time. If men wanted to get some insight into a woman's mind, this might be a title you want to check out. While most guys don't have any idea how women act around each other and while most girls probably don't want men to know the way they really act around each other, this film does a great job of showing just that. Women can be raunchy, idiotic, and have very, VERY unflattering moments, but they can have a pretty damn good time doing it. Most viewers won't come away with any deep realizations about life from this film, but they will get some great laughs and sometimes that's all you need in my opinion. Bottom line: this movie isn't anything terribly meaningful but it'll be one hell of a good time watching it (especially for a group of girlfriends). Happy Movie Viewing!
Fall Into Darkness (1996)
A pretty good TV adaptation of a great book.
I just saw the movie not long ago and thought it was a pretty good adaptation. The actors cast for the characters fit the impressions I got from the book pretty well and they did a good job of keeping the plot the same for the most part. All in all, again, it was a pretty good adaptation. However, I'd have to recommend that anyone liking the movie read the book by Christopher Pike. He's one of the best "teen/young adult" writers out there and does a great job at writing books about teens but not solely meant for teen readers. In comparing the movie to the book, the book (like the vast majority of books made into movies) is undeniably better simply because it can be more in-depth. For those not interested in the book however, Fall Into Darkness definitely gets a high-end rating as far as TV movies go.
