Drunk History (2013–2019)
9/10
Sincerely funny
17 July 2013
Derek Waters brings his hilarious web series to comedy central, with bigger production values and entertainers replacing historians as the drunken storytellers. The two episodes I've seen of Drunk History are some of the most hilarious and entertaining television I've ever seen. The premise is actors/writers/comedians get drunk and tell a story from history, and the scenes described and narrated are acted out. So far, my favorite was where Adam Scott played John Wilkes Booth in the recreation of the Lincoln assassination. Some recognizable names play some of the historical figures; Jack Black was great as Elvis, Dave Grohl as Elivs's lackey, Jonathan Ames, Adam Scott, and Will Forte as Junius, John Wilkes and Edwin Booth, and Fred Willard as 'Deep Throat' in the recreation of the Watergate scandal. The funniest part, to me, is the dialogue the drunken historians give the historical figures that the actors then lip sync. I could use a bit less of the storyteller's vomiting...though, I'm aware that usually goes over well with comedy central's young male demographic. This series has great potential, and I hope it will find the success it deserves.

The Slaughter (2006)

I'm sorry, this was just a failure on every level
22 September 2010
I honestly fail to see how any one could interpret anything in this movie as funny. I didn't laugh once, I wasn't scared once, and you don't give a damn if anyone survives. The antagonist through most of the film is a FUGLY she ghost and the only redeeming quality would have been if the main women of the film got nude for the camera - they don't. The opening scene has tits, but they're not even nice enough to be worth it. Dumbest effects I've ever seen. Horrible acting with CRAP dialogue. This movie is a complete and utter failure, you're time would be better spent plucking you're nose hair out little by little. How this garbage got ANY high reviews boggles the mind. Go watch Slumber Party Massacre or Evil Dead 2, Jeez.

I sincerely loved it

I can't understand why this film has such low reviews. It's funny and stylish with a decent budget. I'm from the states, so I had never heard of Corden or Horne before. They made me laugh a few times, since they're professional comedians and everything, and Horne is attractive. A few people I talked to said they were disappointed the lesbianism wasn't taken farther - okay, go see a girl on girl flick. I like camp and b-films and this was definitely one of the better ones I've seen. It's actually funny and cute as all hell. I would love to see a sequel about gay werewolves starring these two but sadly, I don't think that will happen since this film wasn't a smash success. Also, as a woman, I didn't find anything terribly disgusting or cruel regarding the deaths of any of the characters...although vanquishing an ancient lesbian evil with a cock sword could been seen as offensive - whatever! It's schlock! It's fun! Calm down and laugh at the ridiculousness of it. Better than most - by a long shot.

Blood Feast (1963)

And that blood is so....FAKE
21 September 2010
I initially saw this movie because I have been a HUGE fan of The Misfits since I was 14 and immediately sought out every movie they had based a song upon if I had yet to see it. I feel the need to preface this by saying I actually do like Mr. Gordon Lewis and quite a few of his films. I got to meet him once at a horror punk show where he did an odd little Q&A with the audience and was quite funny. However, this movie is LAUGHABLY bad. The lyric in the 'fits song goes "and that blood is so real, cause you just can't fake it"; which I'm convinced Glenn thought was hilarious since the 'blood' in the film ( and others) is ACTUAL red paint. It's a sub-standard and pretty awful z grade film, but this movie alone isn't what earned him the moniker of the godfather of gore; and you have to understand that no one back in those days even attempted to show anything that represented guts. I suggest you see some of his other works before judging the man on this film alone. And listen to the Misfits song if you haven't already. Mr. Lewis - I salute you.

Imagine how sick this could possibly be, because it's worse!
21 September 2010
Okay, I have loved horror, gore, independent, dark, disturbing, foreign, and B-films since I was a kid. As someone who is interested in such movie genres, for YEARS I had heard about this film. Mostly that it was worth seeing. Sweet mother of god, was that misguided. This film is absolutely stomach churning and disgusting. I saw it about a year or two ago and will NEVER watch another film about people being sexually attracted to corpses. I don't know if I would have had a different reaction if I had seen it before I became an embalmer, but most of the time I felt like throwing up. The corpse isn't real, of course, but there's a rabbit killing scene that is...and that alone is quite sickening. The protagonist of the film brings home a slimy black ooze covered skeleton-which I assume is supposed to represent organic anaerobic putrefaction and adipocere, to his demented and sick girlfriend. They have graphic and appalling sex with it. She leaves him and takes the corpse. I expected this movie to be more story driven than JUST extremely disturbing, but I was horribly mistaken. Obviously, jorg broke taboos with this film-it's f*cking sick. I'd imagine if someone filmed a graphic sodomization of a 12 yr old and interplayed it with close up footage of animal slaughtering while a couple kisses each other and says some lines in a foreign language,it'd break taboos as well, but it wouldn't make it a masterpiece. I know horror and exploitation fans will continue to see this movie just to see what people are talking about, that's what I did. Gross. Gross. Gross.

Really rather good and better than expected
21 September 2010
I bought this movie years ago at a local dollar store for the title alone and once I got around to watching it, I was pleasantly surprised how entertaining it was. It's been years since I've seen this film, so I'll have to go digging through my archives and watch it again - but don't believe the crap people say. It's an enjoyable movie, though as best as I can recall it didn't have much ( or anything?) to do with Bruce Lee returning from the grave. It's not a zombie movie or anything, just an enjoyable and entertaining kung fu B film from the 70's. I myself am a huge Bruce Lee fan, but I don't initially hate a movie because it tries to capitalize on the death of a legend by using his name in the title...I believe there's an entire genre of that - bruceploitation. I'd definitely recommend this film to fans of B films or old kung fu films. The copy I got was pretty grainy...but I bought it for a dollar, so...I didn't exactly go in with the highest of expectations. So if you buy it cheap or see it for free, read the title, and know the star is bruce lea, go in with your expectations set low - you might like it.

Possibly the best zombie movie ever made
21 September 2010
This movie is a cult classic for a reason. Hands down one of the best ever made and incredibly enjoyable throughout. ALL of the teenagers are awesome, all of the main cast is likable and funny. Linnea Quigley has one of the most iconic roles as 'Trash', the incredibly sexy punk girl with scenes I've never seen topped. The music is amazing and featured through the movie you'll hear legends such as .45 Grave, The Damned, T.S.O.L.,etc. The dialogue is hilarious and the acting is phenomenal. All of it equals up to one of the best movie experiences you will ever have. I saw this movie as a child and it is one of the few that is just as much fun today as it was back then. If you have yet to see this movie, you're life is not complete! The first thing you should do is run and watch it. ICONIC!

Annoyingly devoid of werewolves on any type of wheels
19 September 2010
I have wanted to see this movie for YEARS, considering it has one of the greatest titles ever. What I was hoping for was bikers riding along in full wolfman makeup, like the poster suggests. What I got was hippies galavanting across a desert and two(I think its two, it might be just one) members of the crew change into wolf form within the last 2-3 minutes of the movie. I can't say that I think it's art, unless you can watch 'Manos, the Hands of Fate" and think that's art...attempted art, I suppose. To be clear, this movie is NOT as bad as Manos, as very few movies ever made are awful to that degree. Still, the title made me think I would enjoy this movie enthusiastically as it implies the kind of shlocky camp I find amusing and I came away incredibly disappointed...and bored.
