Maid (2021)
Great series
Finally! Well written, believable characters. Great subplots. Really enjoyed the whole series.
Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace (2021)
Rubbish
Don't waste your time. It's straight out of "Finding Freedom" by Scobie. Everyone is a villain in their eyes. The lack of self awareness is unusually high in these two. Guess that is to be expected from a narcissist wife & a husband who chose to abandon his heritage & family.
The Royal House of Windsor (2017)
Trashing Diana is never a good idea
There are several episodes with general profiles of the Royals. However, when they bring in Diana it's a dirty attack on her. They try to make Charles out to be a victim of her craziness. Shame on them!!!!
The Prince (2021)
Tragic
I thought this would be halarious. It's not. It's just very trite & disrespectful.
Burlesque (2010)
Great fun - Cher + Good Music
Really enjoyed this toe-tapping film. The various story lines are predictable, but the funky characters & underworld of Burlesque is a lot of fun to watch.
Holey Moley (2019)
Great fun
If you want to escape all the issues of the day - this is for you. It is very reminiscent of Laugh In. Silly banter between the commentators, contestants being knocked off various obstacles - into water. You just have more laughter than you expected. Great family program.
Bridgerton (2020)
You have to suspend belief on this one
If you expect a drama period piece, this isn't it. So many historical inaccuracies it boggles the mind. They also took modern songs and retooled them to that period's music style. They insert many races into the higher ranks of society, which leads one to think the "woke" generation could care less about society.
Ugly Betty (2006)
Great fun, endearing series.
When this first aired I had two pre-teens at home. It was a great, clean comedy we could watch together. Yet as it went onI got hooked as well. I highly recommend this to everyone.
Perry Mason (2020)
Very disappointing.
Not even close to the original books or TV series. Waste of time.
Marcella (2016)
Great drama
One of the best series to come out for a while. Great casting, acting. Warning: lots of gore, dead bodies, etc.
The Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson (2019)
Pure Trash
Don't waste your time. Bad acting, directing - everything. Pure trash.
Grant (2020)
Commercials Reign Supreme
Save your time - don't waste your time on this. The commercials are almost as time consuming as the Grant material.
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019)
Slow, boring & so disappointing
Aside from the beautiful CGI and locations, this was such a disappointment. The story line isn't too bad, but lags too much. Not worth paying to see or rent.
The House of Eliott (1991)
Great series
Wonderful, beautiful period drama. The locations, clothes & story. The 2 main actresses do a great job.
Downton Abbey (2019)
Excellent - as good as the series
What a treat! All our favorite characters + some funny plot twists. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
Cats (2019)
Tragic
I was excited to see this for the music, dance and favorite actors. What a let down this was! I'm shocked that the producers thought this was good. From this time forward I'll wait a month irv2 before paying good $$$ to be a movie.
White Christmas (1954)
Glorious Christmas Escape Movie
This is one of my all time Christmas movies. Sure it's sugary sweet, it has some continuity problems. Yet the joy of the season, the military story line and the Crosby-Kaye duo are spot on. I always smile, cry and giggle during the movie. Never gets old and despite growing old and cynical, it still moves me.
The Age of Innocence (1993)
One of Scorsese's best.
I've watch this at least 10 times. I love it, mainly, for the story line. However, since it's such a different film than the usual Scorsese films, it's magnificent. The actors are perfectly suited for each role. The costumes, locations, etc. are perfect. The richness on all fronts makes me feel like I was transported back in time. It's a must see.
Miracle on 34th Street (1994)
Great holiday movie
My family watches this every year. Growing up in NYC, this s pretty accurate with the locales. The parade, Macy's, Central apark, all are lovely..
Riviera (2017)
Love it/Julia's hair distracting
While I have enjoyed the series through series 2. Julia's hair is driving me crazy. She has always had great hair in every movie. Now, she plays a rich wife with couture clothing & accessories. Yet her hair is stringy and looks dirty 90% of the time. Why? It's so distracting it drives me crazy. The 1st wife always looks impeccable. Is this a slight on American women vs French women?
Hustlers (2019)
Recycled Trash
Come on Hollywood, another Stripper movie? This has to be the worst one yet. My hubby enjoyed JLo, but aside from that this was a waste of time.
The Lady Eve (1941)
Brillant Old Hollywood comedy
You couldn't ask for a better cast. From Fonda, Stanwick & Preston Sturgiss the production is genius. I've watched this several times, but it still makes me laugh.
Becoming Jane (2007)
Great film exploring Jane Austen's love
Great costumes, locations and insight into Jane Austen's possible love for a Irishman. Who knows whether this is true or not. However, it's a great movie that explores the "what if" elements of her life. As an Austen fan, I hope it was true. For, after all, wouldn't we all like to think Jane had some romance in her life? Maggie Snith's Presence certainly helps.
The Boondock Saints (1999)
Save yourself some time
A sub-par movie with visions of grandeur. My hubby watched it all the way through, I had to take breaks. Bad story line, directing and with the exception of Defoe, bad acting. It is like every one associated we're trying to make a move vie where some crazy do golfers fight big bad mafia boys. A budget of 7 million only grossed a bit over 25k. Save your time, watch Good Fellas or Scarface or even The God Father.
Mrs. Miniver (1942)
Great classic movie
I've watched this movie many times over the years. The charm of the main characters, village and story line had aged well. Great movie!
