Great book, epic story, unforgettable characters - all that simply gone. Maybe I was expecting too much. But it is painful to watch.

To begin with - I gave 3 for the idea and for some scenes when the train goes through the ice. But only this. It could have been a good movie have the directer and the team thought a little more about causality. I understand and I agree that it tries to be a new Animal Farm or 1984 or Terry Gilliam's Brazil. But it fails on all accounts. And something else - what is the director trying to tell by making all the villains in that movie Caucasians? Am I the only one that is bothered by that? Good and bad people come from all over the world - regardless of skin, faith and race. Yes, the movie had a potential. Unfortunately - totally wasted.

I will not waste much of the time of the reader with explaining how bad the movie is - if ever one has seen a SyFy "original" movie, knows what I am talking about. The only reason I am bothering to comment at all is because all the bad acting, script etc. all that pale in comparison with the "Mongolian scenery and terrain" we are presented. For Christ Sake - someone from the crew could have at least google some photos from Mongolia to see what it looks and feels about. How the Mongolians look like (not like Chinese, or Japanese etc.) in what they live and a whole bunch of similar things. I have been in Mongolia and I did not expected to see any close resemblance but at least they could have avoided the trees and the thick grassy spaces... and all the time they talk about the "Mongolian desert".... In short - run the hell away from this crap.

What to say? I am fan of SiFi, Fantasy and Suspense books and movies. I have watched a lot of crap in order to find a movie that I really like. That has something in it. Even if it is a B movie. This movie?? It has nothing in it. I can add nothing to the comments of the people who have already expressed their disappointment. Just one thing – the idea behind the movie did have a potential which regrettably was totally wasted. And this is sad. The attempt of the creators to be "original" and to create a feeling of "actual event" is absolutely laughable. The hand camera could be cool for some minutes or if it is used from time to time through the movie, but here it quickly became more than annoying. The dialogs and the motivation of the characters – come on!!! My 7 years old son comes with better stories. If I am giving any rating at all to this thing – I can not even call it a "movie" – is because of the idea. I am really disappointed of the wasted potential.
