The Noel Diary (2022)
The Tree in The Picture!
Just a few things wrong with this movie: 1/ It took over a week before Jake was informed of his mother's death. 2/ Why was it a big deal with Rachel being multi lingual ? 3/ They were sleeping in a car in cold winter conditions. 4/ when Jake and his Dad reunited after 35 years there was no emotion. 5/ Jake and his Dad decorated the Christmas tree while Rachel was outside. 6/ Rachel read Jakes book before her mothers precious diary. 7/ The cheating was deemed acceptable. 8/ Having been desperate to find her mother Rachel didn't contact her when she found out where she was. 9/ What was the big deal with the necklace Rachel's Dad gave her!. 10/ The worst part of all was when the neighbour gave Jake the picture she'd painted of the house...with the tree added to it. The tree that Jakes brother had fallen out of and died!.
Black Sails (2014)
BRILLIANT
I'm amazed I'd never heard if Black Sails, in fact I only watched it because there was nothing else I fancied watching and it showed on my Amazon Prime recommendations.
Toby Stephens is absolutely fantastic as Captain Flint.
Tenable (2016)
Great Fun
I love this show. Warwick is absolutely hilarious.
The Vicar of Dibley: In Lockdown #2 (2020)
Terrible
This was terrible. The vicar of Dibley used to be a very funny program with charming characters, of which sadly some have passed away. It was very sad this episode was political and devoid of humour. No-one doubts that black lives matter...they absolutely do, but BLM the organisation is not about black lives. It is divisive and by their own admission a Marxist organisation.
Midnight Special (2016)
Awesome Film ~ Terrible Title
I was flicking through Amazon Prime movies and came across Midnight Special. I wasn't expecting much to be honest, but wow what a gem of a film this turned out to be. My only criticism is the title, surely they could have come up with something catchier or more relevant than Midnight Special!
Inception (2010)
The Most Overrated, Overhyped Movie Ever
Very bad story telling of a not very complicated film. All the best scenes were in the trailer. It was really just a boring action film. I can't believe it took him 10 years to write such a simple yet disjointed story. Also the characters (Hardy, Levitt etc ) had no back stories. Hardy just appeared and could do stuff like change appearance!...Ridiculous
Norsemen (2016)
Norsemen is Hilarious
This is the best program I've seen for years. There are so many fantastic characters. I can't make up my mind if Orm or Jarl Varg is my favourite.
Uncle Tom (2020)
Larry Elder
Larry Elder has produced a movie/documentary that everyone should see.
Fortitude (2015)
It Started Well
The first season was great, Stanley Tucci was awesome. The second season was really disappointing and daft. Dennis Quaid was terrible and over acting in every scene. Season 3 was just awful.
Breeders (2020)
Is This A Comedy ?
I watched this expecting it to make me laugh...it didn't!
Last Christmas (2019)
Worst Christmas Film Ever
Just a terrible movie. It's another film where diversity is being forced on us at every opportunity.
Daddy's Home 2 (2017)
Great Christmas Movie
A very funny and welcome new Christmas Movie. I really didn't enjoy Daddy's Home 1, and only watched 2 because family wanted to watch it. This was much better...less annoying and much funnier.
The Irishman (2019)
De Niro Playing De Niro....again
I found this film overly long and pretty boring, although Joe Pesci was pretty good. How many times though do we have to watch Robert De Niro playing the same character. It doesn't matter if it's the Godfather, Stardust or Frankenstein he always acts the same.
Blinded by the Light (2019)
BRILLIANT
I absolutely loved this film. It was like I'd time travelled back to the 80s. BRILLIANT
Yesterday (2019)
Made Me Smile
This is a great feel good movie. I really enjoyed it.
The Big Bang Theory (2007)
Nowadays, if they tell you when to laugh it isn't funny
I thought we had moved on from this kind of "sitcom". There is absolutely no spontaneity with the script or acting and nobody is in the slightest bit believable. I think the script is supposed to be smart but isn't. A long monotone monologue does not = Funny.
Also nowadays a good comedy does not need canned laughter or a "live studio audience with laughter cards held up". I realise great shows such as Seinfeld, Cheers, Frasier and even Friends used canned laughter but that was then. Comedy shows have moved on and we don't need to be told when to laugh anymore. Maybe The Big bang Theory uses more canned laughter than other shows but it just seems unbearable.
Look at shows like The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Scrubs and Modern Family. These are some of the funnies and cleverest shows around at the moment... no canned laughter and every character is totally believable.
On a positive note, I think the actors could all be good in a different show.
The Office: Search Committee (2011)
Robert California (James Spader) Give Him The Job
Firstly, I had really high expectations for Search Committee. The episode itself was good but not really up to scratch for a final episode of The Office. That being said, like every other episode I really enjoyed it.
I now think the real focus of attention will be who is going to be the new boss, and for me only one interviewee really stood out and that was Robert California played by James Spader. He was such a strong character with a really strong presence. In my opinion he really stole the episode and has got massive potential. I would certainly not be disappointed to see Will Ferrell back as Deangelo Vickers, who I thought appeared in one of the funniest Office scenes ever with his motivational juggling in The Inner Circle episode.
I was not really that impressed by any of the other candidates. I've read articles mentioning Katherine Tate is a front runner. I think it would be an absolute disaster if she became boss so I hope the articles are wrong.
Looking forward to next season
