Hilarious would-be pilot/trailer for a series above most others!
5 July 2004
I got this short/trailer in my English version of Pratchett's Soul Music not a week ago, and, faithful to my old habit of checking through the extras before seeing the film, I found this and actually just could not help but look at this before the feature.

This where meant to be an adaption of Pratchett's Discworld book Reaper Man, or Döden Ligger Lågt, as it's called in Swedish (it was actually the first Discworld book I ever read), but by some reason or another it never got past the pilot. As in Soul Music Christoffer Lee plays the not very happy Grim Reaper, who gets the boot from his job as soul-collector and takes job at a farm to make the most out of the rest of his time.

Those shorts, as this, the Men In Black II's The Chubb Chubbs, and the Powerpuff Girl's episode of Dexter's Laboratory, to name but a few are something I really thinks put an extra shine to the DVD!

Bat Thumb (2001)
Well worth the money!
24 September 2002
I bought this flick along with Thumb Wars yesterday, with absolutely no clue whatsoever what to expect of it. The simple fact that I had to give 130 SEK (´bout 12$ I think) for but 30 minutes each had me hesitate for quite a long time, but finally I decided to give it a shot anyway. The first one I watched, Thumb Wars, where boodywell great! The creators knew EXACTLY which toes to step on and how to step HARD on 'em, so since I´m a great fan of Star Wars I knew very well what they ment. After watching the first one I couldn´t help but feelin' a little hopeful. Well, (not very unexpected), it wasn´t as hilarious as the first one. With this NOT said that it was rather lousy, bad or even a little mediocre, it wasn't just as fun as the first one, as it put up the expectations far to high. In this movie (I would rather call it episode, if it only where a few more of 'em), Wuse Bane, aka Bat Thumb, fights the dreaded, evil, as well as ugly, No Face. A thumb WITHOUT eyes and mouth. Imagine that! That´s pretty much the whole story, Bat Thumb´s wanna beat the fertilizer outta the villain, pork the blonde and get rid of his pathetic excuse of a sidekick. Lucky for this movie (err, well...), it really doesn't NEED a story that badly, since it´s just a sofisticatet puppetshow anyway :-) I dearly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a really ill-willing parody :-)

May the force live long and prosper

Smoke Jumpers (1996 TV Movie)
Not great, not bad, just a good way to kill some time
9 June 2002
It´s an ordinary movie about love with difficulties, boy with dangerous job (forest-fire fireman), meets girl, who's,holy damn, ALSO has been a fireman. I do not regret in any way that I saw this movie, but if I had brought it myself....I would be a little disapointed...to say the least. (I got it as a Christmas present along with some other better movies) There are really not much more I can say about this movie, it´s simply too plain, those movies goes thirteen by the dozen.

If any TV network sends it, why not give it a chance, but as of a buy-to-have DVD, there are a s**tload of better movies to spend your money on.
