CatDog (1998–2005)
9/10
Another good show from the later 1990s nicktoon era
25 January 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Yes i was born in 1991 and i grew up with classic Nickelodeon in defense of this cartoon it was good but not great like the classics(Rocko's Modern life, Hey Arnold, Rugrats, Doug ETC.) This show is kind of a twist you have a half cat/half dog animal living in this bone/fish house. the guy who played rocko played Winslow in this show. Tom Kenny who original voiced Heffier in Rocko, voiced Dog in this show. Also the Billy west the guy who voiced doug voiced Rancid Rabit the guy who always ripped people off in this show and a mock of public figures in society. I remember a lot of the characters from this show more than the episodes. I remember the greaser dogs one of which had a crush on dog. Anyways the episodes i do remember is the one where dog is chasing something and him and 2 other animals get caught in a garbage dump and they roll down hill and get caught in the middle of a pond(but they think its the ocean) or where one of the greaser dogs and Dog get married in Cats fantasy, and when Cat Wanted to have an REAL Butt lol and the last one i can remember is where Cat thinks he sees the sign to the end of the world but its really just a peanut in this telescope only to see the real cloud of destruction afterwards.

The opening song is another thing i remember real well from this show. It used to air on nick and nicktoons when there would be an intermission in between shows and it would air like a music video. It was a very cool theme song. One of the reasons why this show was one of the last great Nicktoons was mainly the fact how dog would drag cat to do something he wouldn't want to do and the one time cat made dog do something he didn't want to do he almost got them killed. Also they where brothers but yet they had completely different personalities.Like dog wanting to do all the dangerous and dirty stuff while cat wanted to be all sophisticated.

Anyways this is one of the last good nicktoons it ran from 1998-2004. It ended over a month after 2 classic nicktoons had ended. The Rugrats and Hey Arnold 2 of my favorite Nicktoons as a kid. This show has yet to be seen a DVD release but is supposed already released on iTunes like Ahh Real Monsters. I have to check out my info on that one. Anyways a lot of good cartoons like this have been faded out from Nick TV now and it is kind of sad all because of shows like sponge bob that all suck now.

The Wild Thornberrys (1998–2004)
10/10
One of the last GOOD nicktoons
11 July 2009
Warning: Spoilers
In defense of this show its not as good as Nick Shows like Doug, Rugrats, Rocko, etc. But it was one of the last good Nicktoons before Nickoldeon ruined there self's. This show ran from 1998-2004. I remember when this show first game on back in 1998 with the Burgerking toys that they had for that month with the Kids Meal back then. This show premiered on a Sunday night and the first episode was where they let Debbie drive and she put her bubble gum(Debbie was always chewing bubble gum anyone remember that episode where she let one get huge and then it popped on her face and got somewhat in her hair? no not the one where Donnie popped one in her hair but i forget where the setting was in the one were she blew the big bubble when it popped on her face) under the Accerlator pedal and they RV got stuck. Well the Characters in this show was Eliza the main character who could speak to all Animals. Her monkey friend Darwin, her Sister Debbie, her Mom(Can't remember the name) and her Nigel voiced by Tim Curry and her Apodpted brother Donnie. Also there swarm enemies can't remember the name but i remember one had an eye patch and a wooden leg. This is another Nicktoon show that i liked that i can remember from the production line. I remember the episode with the oil tanker leak and Eliza tried to help the animals where she got trapped by the fire. How bout the episode where they were attacked by sharks and RV started sinking. Or the one Eliza was blamed for upsetting the Humpback Whales. Then there was the one where Eliza was tricked by a leopard or Cheata to help them but she then almost ended up getting killed. Then there was the T.V. movie which i still remember till this day clearly because one scene with the Forrest fire reminded me of the Land Before Time III. The Orgin of Donnie where they return to were Donnie came from and then found out his parents had died from Poachers =[. But there was a scene in it where a Forrest fire started and it reminded me of the scene in The Land Before Time III where they had to escape the great valley because of a Forrest Fire. Now i did see the Movie and i can say the movie was really a good Movie. The Crossover between this and Rugrats was just an alright movie. This show was a really good nick show and like i said earlier it ran from 1998-2004. I saw up till 2002 and i don't remember any new episodes after that. This show did air on Nicktoonss TV like other Classic Nicktoons but hasn't been on there in a couple of years. I Honestly believe this show was canceled along with Hey Arnold And THe Rugrats to let Spongebob become bigger. This week is sponge bobs 10th anniversary. Spongebob is nothing compared to these nicktoons.

Well this show has yet to be released on DVD but since that Deal between Nickoldeon and Amazon.com to release old Nickshows i think this show has a chance of becoming released on DVD. This was good shows and one of the last good ones. Its not the last Great one because it never lived up to the standards of the other Nicktoons. Eitherway There is hope for this being released on DVD. This is a good nicktoon from the 90s.

The Angry Beavers (1997–2001)
10/10
Last Classic Nickcartoon
12 May 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This was another classic Nicktoon it aired from 1997-2001. I remember when it started in 97 and i remember thats when i started watching it. The Angry beavers where 2 brothers who where forced out of there house because there parents had two more beavers(If i remember correctly) and they build a new damn to live in. Its basically the adventures of two brothers living in a damn. I don't remember what some episodes where about other than the one entitled The Posei-Dam Adventure in which they spoof The Poseidon Adventure and there damn capsize and they have to get to the bottom of it in order to live. Now i remember this show was a classic Nicktoon it had a great intro song which i still remember to this day. This show like Kablam never received a release on VHS or DVD(yet). Now i say this is the last classic nicktoon. There where 2 good nicktoons after this i wouldn't say classic until another couple of years but Nick Ruined itself with the newer Spongebob and the c**p they put on the air today. Now i remember reading about The Angry Beavers that the last episode was never shown in the US i read that they said they where going to be canceled and nick never allowed that to show in the US =[. Last year Nick started releasing old Nicktoons on DVD Doug Seasons 1 and 2, And Hey Arnold Seasons 1 and 2. They released Rocko in a best of which totals out to be Season 1 if you put both volumes together. So there is still hope to see this show again. This is the last Classic nicktoon and This proves that old nick is better than new nick

Hey Arnold! (1996–2004)
10/10
Another classic Nick show from the 90s
11 May 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Hey Arnold came out in 1996 and aired until 2004. This is another Nicktoon i can remember clearly from the production line clearly. Hell this is on the only Nicktoon i still have that didn't get taped over as a raw video. What do i mean by raw? I mean that its the original way Nick aired in back in the 90s and it is my favorite Episode of the Show but i'll get to that episode later into this review. 1996 was a big year for Nick as i said in my Kablam review. This show started in 1996. I didn't start watching it until it was well into second season heck i still the first episode i saw was the end of the second season in 1998. I remember i used to watch it on Saturdays at around 10 AM and on weekdays i think at around 7 PM. I remember such episodes like Das Subway in which a cable for the subway gets snapped and there stuck on the subway. The Season finale for the first season where Harold gives Arnold 24 hours to live and Arnold acts crazy so he won;'t kill him. Or when Grandpa goes back to school finish it. The Halloween episode where Arnold scares the town into thinking the Martians are invaded, or when Arnold gets mugged. How bout the episode where Helga thinks shes dying because she got bit by a monkey and then Arnold went to catch Big Cessar. Those are to name a few a i remember but the one i was saving for was the episode that came after the list episode where Arnold was trying to complete the list on a Saturday...... Haunted Train!!! Now i loved this episode from the first time i saw it because i used to love trains including Thomas The Tank Engine. I saw haunted train for the first time in 1998 on a Saturday morning i just saw one part and walked away because they where at the old station and it didn't look like a good episode so i went back to play on the old PB. A couple of Saturdays later it was on again i saw the episode about which i can still remember to this day OLD ENGINE 25. i always liked the design of the train in the episode. How it came in the station so Erie after hearing the story of when it crashed form Arnold's Grandfather. IT turned out that it wasn't haunted but it turned out that may not be true and it maybe true due to the ending when the train rides up at the end. I still have the episode on Tape i taped on Nick in 1999 in the fall i watched the tape a lot and i put it back in my VCR not to long ago and watched ti again. Now i know that it isn't the complete version of the episode because I am missing the begging where it shows the train at the station letting off steam. Now anyways back to the review I remember the show in its production line a lot back in the late 90s. I never did see the movie thou i still have it on a list of things to see. Properly the show ended in 2002 with Arnold finding out some clues about where his parents might be but there where a couple of left over episodes and they aired in 2003 and the last one aired on June 8th, 2004 the same day the last rugrats episode aired. I Did not see those last new Arnold Episodes and one day i plan on it because unlike the rugrats the show didn't really go bad other than the voice actors switched a lot. Anyways i still remember the characters, Arnold, His friend Gerlad, Stoop Kid, Helga, Her sister Olga, George Pataki, her mom, Pheobe, Rhoada, Ruth The girl who Arnold had a crush on, and thats all i think i can fit to properly end my review. The show aired on Nicktoons TV from 2002-2007 and it never has aired on Nick since 2004. This was really a great kids show. Last year Amazon.com released the first 2 seasons of Hey Arnold and Doug on DVD meaning people could finally relive this show. Its good that amazon is releasing old Nick Shows on DVD. THis means i can finally see the begging of Haunted Train again for the first time in almost 10 years!(on nick 7 years on NIcktoons TV)and the first time i can see episodes i haven't seen since the 90s. Well this is another show that once again proves old nick shows ruled and new nick shows sucks.

KaBlam! (1996–2000)
10/10
Best Nicktoon Anthology Show
10 May 2009
Warning: Spoilers
In 1996, Doug started a new and unfortunate life on the Disney channel in which they ruined the Series Doug. Late in 1996 The rugrats started having new episodes after 2 and a half years since it ended. Ren And Stimpy Ended(A show that i never really liked) And So did the great Rocko's Modern Life. So another new Nicktoon started airing....Kablam. Kablam started airing 2 months before The end of Ren And Stimpy and the end of Rocko. It aired from 1996-2000. The show was Nicks first Anthology show. It was told from a comic book that had your hosts Henry and June. Some shorts where Action League now!(Probably my favorite), Snize and Fondo, Life with Loopy, and the cave man show about an alien trying to teach a caveman over 4 million years ago(i think) called Promenthis and bob. I also remember the offbeats. Now to tell you the truth i don;t remember much about the episodes other than the basics BUT i remember when it did air on Nick. In 1997 the year i started watching it heavily it aired on Friday nights right after The Rugrats. I remember getting all crazy about seeing the weeks episode of Kablam. The rugrats used to air on weekdays from 7:30-8:30. This show aired at 8:30 or 7. Note i am positive it was 8:30 it aired when i was in kindergarten. It would also air again on Saturday mornings on Nick. Now in 2000 the show was dropped by nick for the stupid Oh Yeah! cartoons which had been airing for a while now. Nick i don't think ever ran re-runs of this show on Nickeloden. In 2002 i caught it along with with Rocko's Modern Life, Doug, Aahh! Real Monsters and older episodes of the Rugrats on Nicktoons TV Channel. It was so fun watching these shows again. It was unfortunate that that channel started making its own cartoons now like the rest of the classic nick shows except the Rugrats it isn't on Nicktoons TV Anymore. Good news thou last year Amazon.com started releasing old nicktoons as a Nickelodeon flashback series. Doug and Hey Arnold Seasons 1 and 2 where released last year 2008 in August. In September a very unfortunate Best Of DVD was released for Rocko's Modern life meaning people would still have to get Rocko illegally to see the full show. This year it was announced that The Rugrats Season 1 and 2 would be released on Amazon.com and has already been available for pre-ordering. I have read on the Internet that Kablam has a scheduled for a DVD release from what i've read on the Internet. Now it is to soon to tell whether its going to be Seasons 1 and 2 or just another "Best Of" set which means the same thing your going to find it some other way to see the show again. I think this is one of the only Nicktoons from the 90s that was never released on VHS so this would be a neat edition's. Well either way once again this show proves in my opinion that old nick is better than new nick.

Aaahh!!! Real Monsters (1994–1997)
9/10
Another Great Nickelodeon Classics
9 May 2009
Warning: Spoilers
At this time 1994 one major thing happened to Nickelodeon The Rugrats ended or had been canceled, it wasn't until after two and a half years later it was brought back because of Popularity. The first nicktoon created Doug ended. Doug would then be ruined by being bought back on Disney. So in between this time Another New Nicktoon was put on the Air Aaahh!!! Real Monsters. The last three shows i couldn't really remember during the original boar casting time but this show i do remember. It started airing in 1994 and ended in 1998. It ran on re-runs on Nickelodeon from 99-2000ish. But anyways i remember an episode clearly when they try to do something to an old monster at school and Ickis, Krumm(I think), and Oblina(I also think) had to walk him home and he told them how he scared George Washington and Albert ENistein(and thats why his hair was the way it was). I remember they lived in a Dumpster in or near NYC. They would come out of a washing machine when they would come out of there underground world. They had a teacher that they called Gromble. Icis was red, Oblina was like a black and white stick and Krum had to hold on to his eyes in order to see. Aaahh!!! Real Monsters Unfortnatly got a fan base just not as big as the Rugrats or Doug to save it. It did however board cast for 5 years. After going off the air on Nick like with Doug and Rocko it ended in reruns on Nick around 1999-2000-2001ish. In 2002 was when i got Nicktoons TV and i am guessing that is when it started board casting. It was so fun to watch the old cartoons on that channel. Now it doesn't air on that channel anymore Sadly Aaahh!! Real Monsters has yet to be released on DVD. It is however a possibility. Once again this how proves my theory correct New Nick sucks and the older Nicktoons should be brought back on Air *****************************Update********************************* I heard right after this comment that the first season of the show is on iTunes to buy and most likely burn to DVD afterwords. Well this is a problem for people who don't have iTunes or a DVD Burner so hopefully it will be released on DVD Soon.

Rocko's Modern Life (1993–1996)
10/10
Great Show and The Original Spongebob
8 May 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This is the 4th Nicktoon Nickeodeon started airing on September 18, 1993 and lasted four seasons and ended in 1996. The reason i didn't review Ren and Stempy is because A) i never watched it that much and B) I never really liked it. Now you may say why did i say this is the original Spongebob? Well look at it he lives in a town similar to sponge bob, he has A neighbor that hates him like Spongebob, He has a idiot for a friend(Heifer) like Spongebob and there's a lot more i can name but anyways Rocko is better than Spongebob. This show like the other two nicktoons i don't think i remember a lot from when this was airing in the first 2 season. The 3rd Season however i remember the episode from when it first aired clearly ZaZazibar you know the Musical One With songs like Spring Cleaning, and R-E-C-Y-C-L-E Recycle C-O-N-S-E-R-V-E Conserve ha ha. Or the last episode Where the origins of O-Town are discussed where Hefier gives a really ridiculous Story and it turns out Rocko species is the original founder of O-Town. I Also remember a lot of over episodes from the years it board casted on good old Nick before C**p like the new Spongebob, and all that new stuff. Like the episode where Rocko gets the job at the comic book store. Or when Heifer has a nude Party in Rocko's Backyard and you see a naked Squir(Sorry i can't spell that good). How bout the first episode where Hefire convinces rocko to go on a shopping spree or the Beach Episode where Rocko loses his Dog Spunkie. The Characters from this show other than rocko Spunkie and Hefier are Mr.BigHead(who hates rocko) and Mrs.Bighead, Ralph Bighead, Rocko's Boss Philbert, The doctor who filbert had a crush on,and thats all at the moment. Rocko Orignaly Boardcasted on Nick from 1993-1996 it had 4 seasons. It then Boardcasted on Nick from 96-2000 and then again in 2003 as that one nick choice thing and on Sundays with the Angry Beavers. I remember i always wondered what happened to it from 2000-2002 along with Doug, Angry Beavers, Klbalm, AHH Real Monsters and more shows. I then found it on Nicktoons Network along with other old Nickshows. However it does not board cast on Nicktoons Network anymore. Like Doug and Hey Arnold it was released on DVD in 2008. Unlike DOug and Hey Arnold is that it was a "best of" meaning its not a season DVD it just has what NIck thought where the best Episodes. Saddly i am surprised because i remember not to long ago Rocko was one of the most requested Shows to be released as a season set DVD. Joe Murray The shows creator has been fighting for the rights of this show. Well anyways The person who played Heifer(Tom Kenny) is the Voice of Spongebob and was the voice of Spryo The Dragon. Rocko's voice went on to be the mouse from CatDog.And i am pretty sure Philbert went on to be Plankton in sponge bob. Most of the Cast members of this show and Creator Joe Murray and writers went onto Camp Laslow. Thats an alright show that my sister watches but still not as good as Rocko's Modern Life. Well anyways like i said this how proves that old Nicktoons are better than the newer ones

Rugrats (1991–2003)
10/10
One of the greatest Cartoons of all times and The Longest Running Nicktoon...
7 May 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Alright having said on my Doug Review i was 3 when the show got canceled in 1994. A lot of the show during its original run i do not remember except the Sour Pickles Episode. Now having that said i do remember watching it from when i was 1 until the show ended. The Original 65(A.K.A. The first 3 seasons) 10 out of 10 91-94 This was the second Nicktoon Nick created. This show is only a couple of months older than me. I remember these episodes mostly threw reruns on Nick and Nicktoons T.V. These were the greatest years of the show with episodes like Tommys first birthday, Let There be light when the lights go out. Reptar 2010 where the Babies make up there own ending to the movie. The Bully episode where Tommy fights back at a bully thats not angelica. Vistors from outter space and many more. The last episode of these 65 episodes was the Passover Episode. These where the greatest Rugrats episodes. It sadly was canceled. Season 4 The last really good Season 1996-1998. 8 out of 10 During its 2 and a half almost 3 year Hitus the Rugrats Popularity doubled then what it was when it did when it was on the air. So Nick brought it back from the dead. This season i usually get most of these episodes mixed up with The Older season(I know how stupid of me) but the one episode i can clearly distinct that was from this Season was the Thanksgiving one in which the babies save a turkey. Dills Season The 5th Season 5 out of 10 In 1998(If that is the correct year i can't remember) Is when the Great Rugrats ended. The Movie came out. Now the movie auctly wasn't that it was just alright. The movie introduced a New Character... Tommys brother dill this is where the series went down hill because dill didn't really seem to fit there. Rugrats In Paris: The Kimi Years-Till the end of the show 1 of 10 This is the worst years of the show why they had to add Kimmi beats me. In 2001 was a major change of the rugrats and at the the time i did think it was cool cause i could then probably relate to the rugrats more.....They Became All Growned Up. Now i look back and it was really bad IMO. One episode i did like from these years was The Reptar Episode in which they saw a movie with Reptar and he was robot and he was destroying things(Note i may have this mixed up with the Dill Years) To make a last ditch effort All Grown Up: The Spin Off years 1 out of 10 Now The rugrats last aired branded new as babies in 2004 and then Nick could now fully focus on All Grown Up. When it first came out like i said really liked it and i thought i could relate to it well once again i was wrong I got bored after a couple of episodes. All grown up stopped making new episodes last year 2008 bringing a complete end to the rugrats. The Original 3 seasons and the 4 seasons where the good ones The ones after that ruined the show. The Original Rugrats will always be the best and All Grown Up just proves my belief correct that new Nick is horrible. Remember old Classic Cartoons like this Doug and Many others where the greatest cartoons Nick had. Now this show unlike Doug Or Rocko Still airs on NickToons T.V.!!!! To this date 5/7/09 Except only on weekends At 6 AM. Well One sad thing is this show still hasn't seen a DVD release of the older better episodes or better yet Seasons but since Doug and Hey Arnold where released on DVD as Seasons and rumors about Kablam coming out on DVD there's still hope for the original Rugrat Episodes to come out on DVD **********************Update************************************** It was just brought to my attention right after posting this on May 7th that on Wikipedia that they where releasing the first 2 seasons of it on Amazon.com like they did with Hey Arnold And DOug last Summer. Now i have confirmed it. It doesn't say when they come out other than you can pre-order it

Doug (1991–1994)
10/10
Doug One of the greatest Nicktoons
6 May 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Doug from what i have read was one of the first Nicktoons on Nickoldeon. Doug was also a part of my childhood. Now i was born the later part of 91 so i have know memories of its original boardcast run until 94. I remember when it used to air on Nickoloden. I remember some episodes like Where doug thought he had found a dinosaur and turned out it was a Human. Or the one with him and Mr. Dink at the Boat docks. How bout the one where doug accidentally started the Schools science lab on fire by accident. Well either way the show was great Doug always used his imagination to when he got into problems. Heck i even still remember the Characters other than Doug Funny, like Skeeter The Beats,Patty Manase,Dougs Sister, Mr. And Mrs. Dink The Vice Principal, Dougs dog and thats all i can remember. I remember the show stopped airing regularly on Nickoldeon in Late 2000 Early 2001 because Spongebob and other Newer supposedly "Better" NickToons where coming out. The Show did have a second life on Disney but the Disney Doug sucked compared to the original. Well i started wondering what ever happened to it and in 2003 i found it on Nicktoons T.V. and man i remembered a lot of then. As the years went by thou i slowly started to forget about it and Nicktoons T.V. now plays mostly Bad Cartoons. Last year in 2008 however i was delighted to hear that for the first time it was coming out on DVD Season 1 and 2. I have still yet to get them but i shall get them soon. If you want to watch good, and real nicktoons watch this Show but if you want to stay with Spongebob(Which is played on Nick almost ever other hour) then forget It. Its really a shame that Nick took it off the air. Old Nick from the 1990s is still the best.
