I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (2007)
A review and a reaction to people who thought this movie was offensive.
This is a great movie! It has a good moral, and it is pretty funny. Most people who gave this movie a bad rating thought it was offensive... Now I just can't understand why?
Yes this movie had stereotypes, but let's be honest, almost EVERY character was a stereotype! And that was one of things that was funny about this movie. Even Sandler played a stereotype: Good looking guy that "plays" girls and thinks that he is the most important. Think about it. Also, someone said it before, when someone made a wrong joke or said fowl language about gays, he was called names at and certainly not respected. They even said a million times that the word "faggot" is offensive. Also, Stereotypes are designed to be funny. How many people do you think are exactly like the characters in this movie? And when you laugh at a character, does that mean you make fun of all the people the character is loosely based upon? Come on people loose the "uptightness".
Watch the movie again and think about it, it's a funny movie with a good moral. Certainly not a waste of time. And even though it's not a movie that gets you to roll on the floor laughing, it certainly makes you smile big time every now and then :)
Have fun.
Prey (2007)
Don't watch this..... seriously don't
I'm going to keep it short.
1. The sound effect in this movie are so unbelievable bad. When they started to make this film, did they even listen to the lions? Oh and crash sounds are clearly from an 80's movie sound pack.
2. The story is so... well there is no story really. Or it is about lessons how to NOT survive.
3. The action scenes were really annoying with a constant vibrating camera.
4. Every single thing people do in this movie is so incredibly stupid. Taking the keys of the car with you when you get out of the car in the middle of the savanne? Why? Because maybe a lion will steal the car? 5. And as mentioned before, of course there is no way of communication with the station. What kind of rangers are these?? Etc. etc.
Boring, stupid, bad story, very bad ending, So many cliché's I want to cry, I can go on and on.
Don't watch it, until you have seen every single other movie in the world and really want to be the first person to have seen all the movies in existence.
28 Weeks Later (2007)
Enjoyable MOVIE
The first part is in reaction to low rated reviews, after that i'll discus the movie, so if you've never seen it, skip that part.
Before I begin I want to say a few things in reaction to some of the very low rates this movie got (like ones and two's). Please remember that it is a MOVIE, so stop comparing a movie to how things would happen in real life ! I mean come on, of course it is not realistic that they are repopulating after 2 months. But ehm, the whole virus is unrealistic as hell, so why bothering giving this movie a 1 for not being realistic?
Now the movie.
The movie has a constant sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat-and-jump-up-every-now-and-then rush. Especially in the first half of the movie you will see much creepy things. The empty streets are again very effective to make it even more creepy. At some point in the movie 2 kids do plenty of odd things even a grown up would not accomplish in a life time , but that does not make the film annoying or anything. There is very much gore but it affects the movie perfectly well. It's certainly not overdone even though I'm not a huge fan of gore.
The second half of the movie kind of repeats what was happening before, again with pretty odd moves on humans side, and a few clichés (Car won't start... do they have to put that in almost every movie??), but it doesn't ruin the movie.
The ending is clearly made for an sequel but I thing everybody expected that even before seeing the movie (at least, I did. 28 months and then of course 28 years, I would bet on that). Anyway, the ending although made for a sequel did satisfy me.
I recommend this movie for all thrill movie seekers. It's a pretty good sequel of a pretty good first movie. Oh and before I forget, good acting (for most of it). Most horror movies are all about screaming and running and although that is also added in this movie (doh), other emotions are well placed and not stretched for to long.
I'm curious how everything is going to develop in the next sequel.
Death Proof (2007)
Great Tarantino movie!
I can't believe how many people thought this was a bad movie. I think they might have viewed it with a "wrong eye". It's a Tarantino movie! That means it's all about nice dialogs great visual details and a (in most cases) a pretty easy story that is worked out so well it works.
In a nutshell it's about a guy that likes to kill girls with his car. Pretty simple, however the car chases and everything that comes with it are so intense. Some times I really sat on the edge of my seat. Not because you don't know what is going to happen (because that is pretty obvious) but because of the way that it's filmed you really get a sort of adrenaline rush yourself.
I don't see this as a B-film either, it's made in this style on purpose and in a very good way. I can understand why people might not like it because of the style but that doesn't make this a bad movie. I said it before, IMDb is starting to get to much about opinion. Opinion is important but if you don't like a movie it doesn't mean the movie sucks.
Anyway, I think everyone who likes Tarantino movies will be pleased to see this one. Over the top but not like kill bill, he brought the pulp fiction style back a little in this one. Enjoy!
Bloodsport (1988)
Can people please stop giving bad movies 10 stars?
How can you give a 10 to a movie like this one, while crouching tiger hidden dragon for example has MUCH MUCH MUCH better fight scenes and much better acting etc. etc.
This is one of the worst fighting movies ever made. The fighting scenes are so slow and hacky-tacky. And unbelievable unrealistic. And then they claim this story actually happened haha.
Come on guys, go see some real fighting movies. Like Bruce Lee movies. Not very good acting either but at least the fighting scenes rule.
This movie is beyond crap. I can't even believe there is a second movie. And again, stop giving movies like this 10 stars, if you like it give it a 6. It's not a 10 star movie, keep IMDb honest!
