IF (2024)
Why did you have to do that?
My youngest daughter wanted to see this, it has Ryan Reynolds in it, so I thought "what the heck". Man I did not anticipate that I would be a bumbling crying mess at the end of this film.
I wouldn't say this is a kids film, it's more of a film for adults who still have that child still inside of them, but they lost their way when they grew up and became adults. This is a movie for the child inside all of us, that still has that glimmer of hope.
John Krasinski seems like a big child, and that's basically what he was playing in here. I don't mean that in a negative way, I find it very endearing because you don't see that a lot anymore in people.
I really liked seeing the imagination of the little girl in here, but as I stated this is a HEAVY movie, so some things kids may not enjoy in here. When we got out of the movie I asked my daughter "did you like the movie?" and she said "yeah, it was funny and sad". I would have to agree with her assessment.
I would say that if you have a child that has trouble concentrating or sitting still, then they will be miserable in this. This is definitely targeted more for adults.
Velma (2023)
This is horrible
I could get behind a Velma show if it was satire, because anything can be made fun of, but this is cringe, like....super cringe.
Fred is a complete idiot and can not remember Velma every time he sees her, also he is a privileged rich white guy ( stereotypical).
The opening scene has cartoon character females naked and taking a shower together, also cockroaches were going down to pound town (if you know what I mean).
Velma keeps having these weird visions of some type, you got me on what it is because I have no idea.
Norville (Shaggy) is a total simp for Velma and would do anything for her, and she could give a crap about the dude (I honestly feel sorry for him). He even confesses his feelings to her and she laughed at him ( Velma is a terrible person in here).
Seriously who green lit this utter garbage, because someone needs to be fired.
Also poor Fred has a baby peen because he's a late bloomer and he hasn't gone through puberty and he's made fun of constantly.
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
Wow
I will say I was never a super fan of the first film, it's entertaining and definitely a dude movie, with high adrenaline and cocky males. My favorite parts of the original movie was the romance and all the hot shirtless men lol.
This film I feel surpasses the original film, and in today's remakes, reboots and sequels, I feel this movie far exceeded my expectations.
I've always been a fan of Tom Cruise, besides him being good looking (even in his seasoned years), I definitely feel like he is one of our last true action stars. He still lights up the screen and keeps you entertained, and that's exactly what this did.
The action scenes were great I felt like I was in the cockpit and it was extremely intense. This movie gave me more respect to our men and women in the military who fly these jets. I know if I was one of them in that jet i would either pass out or lose my lunch.
Definitely 10/10 for me.
