Justified: City Primeval: The Question (2023)
The Question was answered, but leaves you with more questions.
Through this entire series, I kept hoping that they would bring Boyd back. It was the only Justified thing that could save the series. Series itself was OK, but it needed some spark. And they brought the spark. Shame it had to happen in the last 10 minutes of the series. I actually screamed with excitement when I saw the orange jumpsuit. So is it just a tease? I hope not. I would very much look forward to seeing the show come back to its former glory. Mansell was definitely no Boyd. And Raylan does not belong in Detroit. He belongs on the road chasing down his old buddy. Fingers crossed that's the trip we're taking. See you next season (?)!!!
South Park: Spring Break (2023)
The Worst
I am a HUGE South Park fan. Watched them since the first day. Enjoy 90% of what they've done. Even some of what's not funny has a tendency to keep my attention with their story telling.
But, this episode. Is. The. Worst.
Two of the weakest story lines ever in South Park have been Garrison as Trump and anything Randy since they moved to Tegridy Farms. They tried to twist both into an episode.
I was unamused.
The stories were just bad, and again, the absence of the boys.
After last week's episode I thought they were headed back to what makes the show great!
Good ol' potty mouth humor.
I think this episode is supposed to be a preview of their eventual take on the upcoming election.
I hope they don't go there.
You (2018)
I battled with my Alter and Lost.
You- Season 1 is Great. They won't top it, just stop.
Nope, can't do it.
Continue to Season 2, still Really Good.
You should really stop while you're ahead.
Except now, you are oddly obsessed and can't decide if you love it enough to let it live or can you live with yourself if it dies right here, right now. But, Joe and the sad girl from the Hill House series make such a great twisted couple, how could it go wrong?
Move it to the suburbs, that's how.
(Kudos to the actress Shalita Grant, who played Sherry. She was the best part of season 3)
Ok, on to Season 4. Although, killing off rich people is a different form of ridding the world of evil, the first part of this is the season had me thinking, I should just rewatch Dexter. But, just like Joe, I didn't listen to my alter either.
So I finished it. That's all I can say about it.
Like poor Nadia, I got caught up in it and can't do anything about it except wait it out.
(I don't think we've seen the last of her.)
If there is a season 5, I hope it doesn't go the path of Dexter. By that I mean I'd rather see Joe killed off for real and not disappear into the storm only to reappear in what I like the call, the worst ending in TV history.
The Upside of You- Joe is back. As Joe, not a Lumberjack in Washington State.
South Park: Japanese Toilet (2023)
Every time I see the Farm, I cringe.
Dear Creators of South Park,
For the next episode, could you please move the Marshes back to South Park? I'm really over Tegridy Farms. Especially Randy.
There was a time when his character was funny, but moving to Tegridy Farms ended him. It was cute for a few episodes, but not entire seasons or overly extended episodes. Randy was better as an up and coming female teen singer than a lost, brainless, burn out. That's Towelie's job.
I really thought SP was headed back to basics this season. Maybe next week.
Also, just my opinion, but the "toilet story" would have been better if Cartman was the main character.
"But Moooom, I need a 15 thousand dollar toilet."
What We Do in the Shadows: Sunrise, Sunset (2022)
If I may say so, it was a sweet ending.
It may not be what you expect to hear about a silly vampire documentary comedy show, but when did you ever think the combination of those words would ever exist. With this season's storylines coming to a close the way they did, it DOES make me wonder what they will do next season. Pretty much everything is back where it was at the beginning. The last minute of the show is about the only potential twist, and even that has been an ongoing plot point since the beginning. Maybe they will focus on how Nandor will handle it?
This season, with all its missteps, still wound up being pretty solid in the end. The song at the end was touching to say the least. Lazslo's 💔 made me cry. But it's just a silly vampire documentary comedy. How can it make you care like that? Well, for me at least, it did. See you next season.
South Park: The 25th Anniversary Concert (2022)
Well Done!!!
A lot of fun for any South Park fan. It really shows how much goes into the show to make a 'silly cartoon'. Every detail was well done. The only wish I had would have been a tribute to Chef. No matter how or why they parted ways, Chef is a huge part of the show.
Otherwise, I say Bravo!!!
What We Do in the Shadows: Private School (2022)
That's more like it!
Guess What?
This was hands down the best episode this season thus far. This episode has a good taste of what makes this show great.
I remember feeling the same way about season 3. It took a few episodes to really keep my attention.
Baby Colin is really growing on me.
Two words... Nandor's eyebrows.
What We Do in the Shadows: The Night Market (2022)
What are they doing to the Shadows?
I love this show. The concept alone is hilarious. It's cartoonish in the fact that they can literally do anything with their story lines. This episode was a great example.
But, somethings been missing this season. The laughs. Those little moments that stick in your brain and you can't help but laugh or act it out when you think about it. Moments they put on T-shirts.
They're trying too hard to push storylines that have no direction. Why give Nandor a wife and not put her in the show?
What happened to last years conclusion episode?
I was hoping Nandor would travel the world and have new adventures. They completely abandoned it like it never happened. Little Colin is cute. I hope they don't age him too quickly. I want to see where it goes. I really wanted to see Nadja rule the Council. I suppose the nightclub is a consolation prize of her ability to be the boss. So far, she's been the strongest story. I'm very disappointed that LaOslo has mainly been a backup. He needs more screen time. Matt Berry is fantastic. I would love to see him have his own episode like the one with Jackie Daytona. It's still one of the best episodes of the entire series.
Overall, this season has been just ok. I still love the show and I hope it's building up to something.
Bring back the silly, memorable moments. To this day I can't go through a card aisle without crumbling some creepy paper or look for keychains that say Steve. Real WWDITS fans know what I'm talking about and I'll bet feel the same way. 🦇
South Park: Help, My Teenager Hates Me! (2022)
Can't please everyone... is what I hope Trey and Matt say every week.
First, it was 'the voices'. Then, the fab 4 are absent. Now, the boys are back and what, not enough Butters??? Most of SP episodes don't always have all the ingredients, except ep. 200. Which you'll never see again unless you're old enough to still have DVDs.
Face it, South Park isn't always a laugh riot, but it's usually entertaining, and most times pretty relevant to the topic the shows about. Parents with teenagers will appreciate this episode. Teens, will hate it, 'cause that's what teens do, Bruh.
South Park: Back to the Cold War (2022)
Welcome to South Park. A town of sarcasm and cynicism
This has been the best episode since season 18. Everything that makes South Park the show that it had been was oozing out like Melancholy's massive dumps. Pay attention to the little references. If you're in your 50's or a fan of 80's culture, there's a lot of nostalgia. If you're overly politically motivated, you may get pissed off at this episode If you do take the episode too personally because of your political beliefs... Get over it, dude. It's South Park! M'kay.
South Park: City People (2022)
It had some good stuff
This will be an episode that will be funny years down the road when this generation realizes just how foolish they seemed. That's if they have gotten a sense of humor by then.
South Park: Pajama Day (2022)
The boys are back!
It wasn't the funniest episode. It wasn't the worst. I'm just glad they're back in skoowl, as Cartman says it.
One suggestion, step away from the Covid. I think the world is tired of it.
What We Do in the Shadows: The Escape (2021)
One of the funniest episodes....
Two words... Nandor's Armor.
Every character in this episode had a funny moment.
Makes up for a few of the 'eh' episodes this season.
Bloodline: Part 32 (2017)
WTF
The worst part, besides everything, was Danny's (Mendelsohn's) really terrible wig.
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1978)
I Love It for Sentimental Reasons...
Ok, the acting is absolutely terrible and it's completely campy. But, that's part of it's charm.
If you can watch the movie without comparing the Beatles versions, most songs hit the mark. Aerosmith's Come Together, Billy Preston's Get Back, and EW&F's Got to Get You into My Life, are still great. There are a couple of songs like Golden Slumbers that play better on the album.
If you are fans of The Bee Gees, mainly Barry Gibb's hair, (which, somehow, actually steals a few scenes) and Frampton, you should be tickled. Some of the guest spots are great, some were just, eh. I imagine it will be up to who your favorite acts are. If you make it to the end of the movie, the credits roll out with a virtual who's who of the 70's singing the title song. The movie won't be for everyone, but those who love the 70's should have fun reminiscing.
