Reviews
Drag Me to Dinner (2023)
Fun camp full of satire
The first episode was fantastic, the second chaos, and they just got crazier from there. I love that they are having fun. The puns, the puns, Allllllll the puns! How can you not get that this is making fun of everything?
The hosts, the queens, MURRAY FREAKIN' HILL "Showbiz!' I swear it's also a perfect satire of 'reality' competition shows! I love how they leave it so crazy, unhinged, and blooper filled.

PLUS Making me create more words to describe and review this show. BECAUSE ONE PARAGRAPH APPARENTLY isn't enough anymore! So here is me making this six-hundred-characters to get submitted.
Tig Notaro: Drawn (2021)
If you don't get this you are lost on the concept
Tig has a very dry wit and I enjoy her brand of humor. This is a very unique way of telling her stories; In animated form. These are excerpts from different stand up she's done over the years. Each story is told in different forms of animation. StoryCorps on NPR/PBS also has the same concept of regular people telling a true life story and is animated.
Christmas on the Square (2020)
Feel good Christmas musical play
Remember this isn't a big budget movie this is based on a stage play and it plays that way on screen too. It's a sweet story with a message. People need to get off their high horse when it comes to reviews. This is meant to be fun and entertaining with a moral. That's the basics. I love the effort and heart put into this story.
Enola Holmes (2020)
Perfect set up for a limited series on Netflix
Watch this movie for the sheer enjoyment and entertainment value; it's not a heavy story line to follow. This movie is a cute coming of age story; take it as that, it's not meant to be historically accurate in women's roles in the early 19th century. If you came looking for a movie riddled with Sherlock solving some big case you can't read either! It's called 'Enola Holmes' because it about her! Some people just can't watch a movie for the sake of enjoyment.
Kathleen Madigan: Bothering Jesus (2016)
It's funny the first time AND the tenth time!!
Yes! I've seen this one at least ten times! And my 15 year old daughter has seen it at least 4 times with me! We both love it so much we quote it! Best one we quote is " I don't know, somebody saw one once" and she sometimes will quote " ...at this time we have no new information" if I ask her how was her day at school.
Puss in Boots (1983)
MERCY BUCK UP!
I have only seen this movie like a hundred times..but it is one of the best adaptations of the classic story of Puss In Boots ever!!!
I love Magnolia and her French...I love Puss and his "only a cat" and I love Murlis and his dopey brothers!!!
The Acting is Fantastic and the Music is Memorable and easy to sing along with!
Sadly my copy of this movie is deterating...through the passing years so the film quality is not a good as it use to be.
Swing Your Lady (1938)
A FUNNY CUTE MOVIE
I will just start by saying this was a funny and cute movie.
It stars Humphery Bogart as a Wrestling promoter who was come to the Ozarks with his wrestler Joe. Joe,a loveable dim-wit, has been entered into an exhibition match with the local Amazon, and black smith. Miss Sadie Horn, to whom Ed (Bogart) has instructed him not to meet untill the day of the match.
All things change when one evening Joe is out running and stumbles over Miss Horn working. He falls hopelessly in love with her and she is quite smitten by him. Much to the dis-may of her Beau,Noah.
The comedy insues, with this very odd triangle, and witty dialogue. a must see by all classic movie viewers.
My favorite line from this movie is:
(Joe is holding a horseshoe that Sadie gave him for luck)
Joe: (rubbing the horseshoe and looking very sad)
Man: what is he doing?
Ed: I don't know...maybe he saving up for a horse.
Subspecies (1991)
It's great for a Vampire B-movie, but what I like the most was that it *WAS* a Vampire B-movie!!
To start off with I had a great back story. Two Vampire Brothers one, genuinely good, born of a Mortal woman(Stephan), and the Vampire king and the other, truly Evil, born of a evil witch and the vampire king(Radu).
*one side note* Radu(the Evil Brother in this movie) was also the name of Vald Dracula's Brothers!!!
I think this movie was great with the special effects. I didn't, and still don't know about the story line with the "Subspecies(the little demons)" Radu's Minions, but they were very well done. the primitive settings and tactile use of locals playing the towns people was great.
One thing I would have done different when filming in the dark of night, in the woods no less. I would try to make the light look more like moon light instead of a spotlight hidden behind a tree. but to one effect it gave a hauntingly glow to the trees!
Oh if you are like me and like to find mess-ups in movies here is one I'm sure you'll see... when the Funeral procession is taking place. On the cross is a name of the person that has died now later on when the towns people are performing the ritual with the white horse jumping over said grave look at the cross again the name is now in reverse the first and last names have switched places! ????go figure????
But anyway, all in all its a great movie the endings well,uh,... well you'll just have to see it
