Uncharted (2022)
We need more!
Uncharted is my favourite game series so I am happy to say the Uncharted movie was better than I expected. I always liked Tom in the role of Nate even when others didn't. I never once thought to myself when watching that is was too similar of a portrayal to Spider-man, in fact I thought the exact opposite and was so happy to see him in a role where he is a bit more "grown up" and doing things Spider-man would never. Sully was better in the final act and I look forward to seeing where he goes in a sequel. Chloe was played well too and I think the cast has a bright future. Stunning visuals, great sets, and amazing action and stunts, very important in an Uncharted adaptation. One thing I am a bit sceptical on is some of the origins and reframing of the characters background and history, however I'm willing to wait for a sequel to judge and see how it pans out and if it pays off/ is worth the changes. Overall it was a solid first entry but definitely needs some sequels to expand on this big ensemble and world!

Death on the Nile (2022)
Solid Sequel
This movie is a great follow up to it predecessor, it builds nicely on showing the audience the depth of Dt. Poirot. This movie was beautiful to look at with great colour and camera work. The story had many great twists and turns that always had me changing my mind on who I thought did the killing. A great cast, much like the first film, worked well together and fit their roles. I definitely recommend this film and cannot wait for the rest of the 2022 film slate.

Murder on the Orient Express (2017)
Solid Whodunnit
Murder on the Orient Express is a good whodunnit flick. The characters and world building was done quickly but efficiently and really set the tone of the film which I always appreciate. Kenneth Brannah has a great eye for detail and directing as well as being the star of the film. The writing was good, although I haven't read the book to me it was a good book to screen adaptation. Some murder master films have trouble staying interesting but this one flowed very well and kept my attention the whole time, which is very important to me. Although I guessed the ending it was still a very enjoyable ride and seeing how the Detective arrived there. Solid movie, excited for the next.

House of 1000 Corpses (2003)
Worth a watch.
House of 1000 Corpses had potential to be something greater than it was. As I watched I kept noticing lines that had potential to set up great foreshadowing but ultimately led to nowhere. The editing was also an odd choice and often took me out of the scene which resulted in me being less scared or tense. The cinematography was quite well done however with great colour and camera movement. Acting was about as good as the writing, however the set design was top notch, no complaints what so ever. Music as well, amazing, but that's to be expected when the greta Rob Zombie is in charge! Overall it is an average horror movie that didn't stick the landing for me. Still would recommend as a watch for those that love the genre.

Creep 2 (2017)
Great Sequel
Creep 2 is a worthy sequel to the 2014 Creep. It feels like watching a man have a midlife crisis on camera, except this man is a serial killer. We once again see Josef, although this time he isn't trying to kill anyone, rather make a documentary so he doesn't die an unknown serial killer. Sara is a struggling videographer that needs exciting footage to give her career a boost. Both actors play off each other very well in this and keep you watching and always curious about what will happen next. Only thing I was left wondering is when Creep 3 is coming out!
Creep (2014)
A great found film style flick.
The movie Creep was a great interpretation of a modern day found film psychological horror/thriller. With a great team of Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice they made a simple 5 page outline and basic equipment turn into what I believe will become a classic. Acting was great, you really feel for the characters, locations really set the tone for the movie and the plot was strong enough to keep my attention for the entire film. I strongly recommend giving this a watch.

Goldfinger (1964)
A bit silly.
Goldfinger is definitely one of the more over the top and silly Bond films but it has fun with it. Connery is the highlight without a doubt and carries the film when some other are lacking with their performance. The sound was great during the car chases and gunfights however if you pay attention there is some spotty editing that doesn't smoothly line up all the time. It is a good flick but doesn't quite hold up in the modern day, especially when compared to No Time to Die and Skyfall.
Red Notice (2021)
Another Dwayne and Ryan Flick
Red Notice doesn't reinvent the genre but it does make for a worthy addition to the many films that came before. With a good script that did have a few overly convenient plot points it still kept me watching. Great action scenes and editing there were still a few things that fell short. The CGI wasn't bad however it felt more like a really good video games graphics. With many classic Ryan Reynolds jokes it did make for a fun watch with my family. The final act was my favourite and tied everything up, not the cleanest way to end but still had all my questions answered. Overall it was a fun movie with great action and good writing, however all in all it is a Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson flick and if you enjoy them you will 100% enjoy this movie.
