Terrifier 2 (2022)
May Be The Best Horror Movie Of 2022!
This year, tons of highly anticipated horror movies came out. I've seen eight of them in theaters (the most times I ever went to the movies in one year!), and Terrifier 2 ranks at the top of my list!!!!
Even though this movie is super long, I enjoyed every minute of it and saw it as an improvement over the first movie (which I already thought was the best slasher movie of the 21st century so far!!!). It has more of a storyline than the first movie, and has likable and relatable characters. Imagine Halloween with 20 times more blood and gore! If that excites you, then you're in for a treat.
Art The Clown is hands down the creepiest clown to ever appear on screen. The kills in this movie are so brutal that anyone who sees it will agree that Michael Myers (as popular as he is), has nothing on Art The Clown! Lauren LaVera is a major highlight in this movie as well, and made her mark as an extremely beautiful Scream Queen! Support this movie!
Smile (2022)
One Of The Better Movies To Come Out This Year
Smile was good! The score really stood out, it was full of suspense, and it even made me jump a few times (and scream once 🤣). It's hard for any movie to make me jump at all, since I watch so many horror movies. The acting really stood out too, and the movie itself has a deep theme behind it that people may or may not interpret while watching.
A lot of people are comparing it to It Follows, and while it definitely has some similarities with that and other movies, I enjoyed this better. From the moment I saw the trailer back in August, I knew this would be my kind of movie. Parker Finn doesn't disappoint.
The Black Phone (2021)
Blumhouse Has Yet Another Winner!!!
This was the best movie that I've seen in theaters in a few years! I enjoyed it from start to finish, and I recommend it for anyone who's a horror enthusiast like me.
Choose or Die (2022)
The Horror Version Of Jumanji
This movie is actually enjoyable. It has some outlandish moments, but it kept me intrigued. It has some moments where it'll make you laugh too. I would say it's better than what the reviews suggest.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)
The Best Sequel I've Seen Yet!
This movie was actually better than what I thought it would be! It was intense, with plenty of wild and gruesome kills! Exactly what you want in a TCM movie. And the fact that the original survivor from the 1974 movie made a return, makes it even better.
Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland (1989)
Lame, Banal, Stereotypical Garbage
I'm a fan of the first two Sleepaway Camp movies, but this movie was garbage. The plot wasn't anywhere near as good, and the one Black character in the film was completely stereotypical in a blatant and disrespectful way. Overall, this movie is outlandish. It lacks the suspense of the original completely, and it lacks the humor of the second. It should've never been made.
The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018)
The First Strangers Movie Is Nothing Compared To This One!
I wasn't a fan of the first movie because I felt like it was underwhelming and just didn't live up to it's potential. But this movie had a bigger and better plot with more dialogue (being as though it focuses on a family, as opposed to a couple) and much more action! And it really keeps you on the edge of your seat! This was perfectly executed.
Colin in Black and White (2021)
A Powerful Series From One Of My Biggest Role Models!
This is a well executed series that invokes emotions, brings laughs, and resonates well with the average Black person in America. It shows how Colin Kaepernick had a hard time embracing himself growing up, and how he constantly faced subliminal racism. Overall, it sends a strong message, especially to millennials.
Chucky (2021)
My New Favorite Show
This show is just as good as the movies! As a die hard Chucky fan, I love it. It has a well balanced blend of suspense and humor, and it even gets into Charles Lee Ray's backstory more.
South Central (1992)
A Powerful Movie
One of the best street movies ever made! It shows how the gang lifestyle isn't really cool, and how important fathers are to the kids.
Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021)
Didn't Live Up To It's Potential
Definitely not a great movie, but it's not as bad as people online are making it out to be either.
Us (2019)
In My Opinion Is Even Better Than Get Out!
This movie included tons of symbolic messages, it was scarier than Get Out, and it had a huge plot twist! It's rare to see movies as creative as this one! Definitely one of the better movies of 2019!
Them (2021)
On par with a Jordan Peele movie
Ignore the racist trolls who are purposely giving this series bad reviews just because it's about racism in America. This show is good!
