Un beau jour, un coiffeur (2004)
First love is always the hardest
What a sweet movie.. I caught it on LOGO TV, the gay channel in a program featuring short films. A simple movie, but one that gets to the point: first love, young love.. not always smooth or easy. It is a great little movie in that it focuses on what people do for love.. Everyone should enjoy it. The lead actor was in another great film called YOU'LL GET OVER IT. You would do well to try and catch it. and the characters are not overly feminine, which is nice for a change. Even the hairdresser is good looking but not over the top. Of course a happy ending is great.. A lesson to be learned. One can fall in love with another person if the first does not work out. A good life lesson. ENJOY.
The Fluffer (2001)
Sometimes A Guy Needs A Little Help!
What a fun romp behind the scenes of the porn industry..with a love story thrown in...Lots of laughs, lots of drama, selling out at the QUAD theatre in NY's Greenwich village. And for once, the lines for the ladies' room are SHORTER than those for the men's room. Let us hear it for long lost Robert Walden of "LOU GRANT" fame.. Where has he been? He really hams it up as a sleazy porn producer...What's a guy to do when the guy he loves is only gay for pay!!! Heartache is a definite!
The Happy Hooker Goes to Washington (1977)
This movie is no zirconia!
Forrest was right, this movie is a real gem. A diamond waiting to be unearthed by real movie fans. The performance by Joey Heatherton is so on target, it is a shame that it was overlooked by the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences. The supporting performances deserve equal attention! Why were there no sequels ever made? This is a real moneymaker!
The Sound of Music (1965)
When nuns raise their voices in song, look out!
We know the story. We love the songs. They did a great job bringing it to the screen. Laughter, tears..This film has it all. Eleanor Parker could have given tips to Cruella de Ville. But this movie ain't no dog. And that fabulous wedding dress! Go, Julie, Go!!!
Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953)
And BLONDES have more fun, too!
These girls sure do have fun on a transatlantic cruise! And you will, too. And how did they fit all those fabulous dresses in their suitcases..without a wrinkle???? Sure made me want to go to Paris. And diamonds ARE a girl's best friend. A must for any collection!
