This movie has some great actors in it - Idris Elba, Peter Capaldi, and even Stallone providing his voice. But that's just not enough. The cheesy factor is just too high. You've got an anthropomorphic shark and an anthropomorphic weasel and a giant starfish from outer space. Then you have a guy who can remove his own arms and send them on ahead, floating through the air. Sorry, but there's only just so much suspension of disbelief I can muster.
John Cena should have stuck to wrestling, because he can't act. Fortunately, most of the bad actors in this movie died very early on, but unfortunately, Cena was a central character throughout the whole thing. And there was so much interaction between Cena and Idris Elba that it made Idris seem like a bad actor as well, because he had to come down to Cena's level. Daniela Melchior was one of the best actors in the movie, and she was only 24 years old, and had only been in 5 TV series and 2 movies before doing this one. And this was her first English-speaking role. Margot Robbie was still great as Harley Quinn, but the special effects they added in her fight scenes were ridiculous. And of course, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller still makes me want to hit her over the head with a golf club, but I can't fault Davis for that, since that's the effect her character is supposed to have on you.
All in all, this is one of those rare movies that I wish I could UN-watch.
