Filosofi Kopi 3 (2022)
Hahaha No. Just No.
While I appreicate the effort of turning this comfy heartwarming drama franchinse into action packed movie, but this is just painful too watch. Good thing they didn't decide to give our beloved coffee enthusiats martial prowess or super powers to deal with their mishaps in this movie. Instead, they give them Kate Bishop and Karate Kid, who seems to be more than capable in taking down a camp of armed thugs themsleves, and should be done on their own instead of waiting until third act to do their thing.
Bajaj Bajuri the Movie (2014)
Completely Different, All New, Epic Fail Edition
Completely different cast from the original TV show, unfunny, and a waste of time.
Tarung Sarung (2020)
An almost decent Karate Kid remake.
Plot is so much similar to your original Karate Kid movie that the protagonist even have similar name. That's the only passable part. Well, that and Yayan Ruhian being a calm caretaker.
The original Karate Kid movie introduce and let audience learn about the people and cultures of Japanese. So, the maker in this movie attempt to do the same. But instead of culture of certain ethnicity, it is now a religious culture, Islam. The once coming of age action movie is now a religious movie, which some people may find the approach cringey, absurd, and even ridiculous.
Hangout (2016)
Dika's Attempt to Breakout from his Rom-Com Routine
Dika's run with repetitive rom-com routine has become quite cringey and boring at the time. Even in this movie, where he played ficitonal version of himself, makes fun of his uninspiring dumb look he used to do in each of his rom-com movies. His attempt to break out from his regular role has proven to be quite entertaining and fun. Supported by some of the heavy weight actors and actresses, this suspenseful horror comedy might be break he is looking for.
Milea: Suara dari Dilan (2020)
How to Milk Money from Your Audience
As much as I like two previous Dilan movies, this one here is just a money grabbing scheme from the makers. For a 1 hour 40 minutes movie, almost half of the movie was spent on retelling stories from two previous movies, with additional footage, deleted scenes and such that makes up for the other quarter. Things that might do better if it was released as Blu-Ray features instead. In the end you only get to see about 20 minutes of new scenes that won't progress much while we are waiting for third Dilan movie. If you are sucker for romance and have a fetish for re-runs, then this is your thing.
